Dronus - I'm on a 5750 order number prefix and haven't had any movement whatsoever. When did you order? What spec is yours?

For what it's worth, I ordered a i7 2TB 8GB on 10/20, and it was shipped on the 12th (today in Hong Kong, where I live) with expected delivery on Monday the 16th.

However Shanghai to Hong Kong is only a two hour flight, so if it shipped today it should be here today, possibly for release tomorrow. I have enquired about picking up the computer myself at the depot on Saturday, rather than wait until Monday and they said that's fine! Apple uses TNT Express in this part of the world... so may have the computer this weekend afterall!

Wow, your iMac was shipped on the 7th of November? Did you order an i5 or i7? Sounds like you got yours way earlier than anyone else!

It is a stock i5... hopefully, I'll get it by Friday. But, it has to clear Canadian customs, probably in Missassauga, then it has to come all the way back out to Vancouver to be delivered, I think that computers that come to the Vancouver area from Apple, travel further than any other computers they ship. They zig zag across North America... from Alaska, to the mid west, to eastern Canada all the way back to the west coast.

Howdy Blackie. I ordered on the 31st October. Quad Core 2.66Ghz, 8 gig ram, plus an apple remote.

I just rang apple kinda expecting to not hear anything sane, and wasnt disappointed. The Gentleman told me that my order had not been shipped as they were waiting for permission from the Australian Government to import Apple products into our country. After shaking my head for a few seconds, and asking him to repeat it i asked him if that was all apple products, just Imacs, or just my Imac. He told me that it was all apple products. After explaining to him that i was calling him on an iphone and im fairly sure that there is allready one or two apple products in Australia he shut me down with "it probably wont ship until the end of November"

*Edit* maybe he is saying they are in Customs, waiting for Quarentine?

WTF?

WTF indeed! Must have been a long, hard day in the Apple call centre :D Anyway, my i7 iMac is shipping at the moment and no delays announced, so he really must have been tripping!

Exactly what I heard from Apple this morning.
I explained to the operator that someone in Australia got their tracking number that scheduled to receive it by 17 November.

He replied me that he is very sure that there if others received their iMac, I will receive mine at the same moment.

:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Mine just departed finally according to the tracking site
I think it changed flights and it is flying to Indianapolis directly. If that is the case, I am getting it tomorrow.

Thanks for those links! I think thats so sweet that I can actually track where the plane is, how long it's been in the air, and it's destination. I've never watched tracking so closely, and like you said earlier, it's kinda fun lol.

Well they have moved the production from singapore to china, maybe it has to do with this?

Yeah, in case the Chinese government planted each one of these with a deadly virus which once located on Australian soil will activate, steal all of our iron, cole and uranium reserves and then sink the continent. I really hope that the production location has nothing to do with any paranoid delays and that the Apple salesrep was just A: trippy or B: confused customs with some govt approval.

No, no update... TNT still says "Not Found" but apparently TNT's tracking is very slow to update and can take even more than 24hrs so 12 more hours to for for me ;)

Australia importing rules and regulations is always tedious.

And, to follow up my own post, I'm a retard, that was for my Remote... Computer still somewhere between the Continental US and Alaska... grr:(

Ohh ok, i was thinking it was some random excuses generator they had :)
mine is a 2.66Ghz, so thats an i5 yeah? shouldnt be too many hold ups on that. I rang the store where i bought it and he said that after speaking to the Apple Rep the other night it could be possible that our shipment will get held in Customs for a while, which might explain some things. he said it might not get to us before the end of the month which kind of bites the big one.

It could very well be  Although stuff comes into Australia from China everyday.. im suprised that stuff going into the USA doesnt get locked down like it does coming into AU.

Just spoke to Apple support for Australia and didn't get the customs excuse. Simply that the machine hadn't shipped yet (doh!) and that it should ship very soon.

Blackie, what specs did you order and where is it headed?

my Aussie inbound i7 now at Hong Kong didn't get very far ove 12-14 hour period

You've got TNT tracking working already? Still interesting... maybe they're waiting to fill-up the plane to some level with the i5 & i7 and then ship alltogether so the paperwork will be a bit easier. Hopefully it's not some kind of OZ customs fu**up...

Glad to know I'm not the only Aussie that was dumbfounded to hear the 'waiting for the government to clear it' pile of brown smelly steamy stuff!

Now Lord give me patience! ;)

As someone working in the logistics/supply/transport industry, I know that TNT (and other transport providers) don't care what goes into their shipping/cargo/courier services, as long as it fits in, and is the most effecient way to get whatever from Point A to Z.

Mine is STILL sitting in China. It's not moving.

The last activity was 11/11 at 6:15am CST (Illinois) time. (8:15p China time 11/11)

What the heck.
