Yes, it has gone up. I bought the same memory awhile back for $52.99 w/ free shipping.

why does every online store with .ca behind it have far less stock and worse prices than its US counterparts?

amazon.ca
newegg.ca
no RAM worth buying.
amazon.com has 2x2GB crucial RAM for $71US but will they ship it 40 minutes north of the border? No!

Easy.

AppleCare does not start till you register it.

So, you have the box and information to register
with Apple for the care. Once you get your i5
that's exactly what you should do.

I'm actually wondering if that statement is true. See the following quote from Apple's page.

"Whether you're new to Mac or an experienced user, the AppleCare Protection Plan helps you get the most from your Mac. For up to three years from your computer's original purchase date, you get access to Apple's award-winning telephone technical support for questions about Apple hardware, Mac OS, iLife, and iWork. And you get global repair coverage for your Mac — both parts and labor — through convenient service options."

Folks, quit making this so hard. Your 3 years of AppleCare start on the day your computer is delivered in the mail. Plain and simple!

Don't bite your nails off if it ships before your computer. Don't get your panties in a wad if your credit card is charged. And stop turning your hair gray trying to figure out when it will expire.

I ordered the 27" i7, and also the new apple remote on Oct 21, and now in Order Details it says the apple remote is "Prepared for Shipment", but the text below still says Ships: Nov 19, Delivers: Nov 24. And the iMac still says Ships: November.

is it just me or did this just change: try making a BTO 27" with dual core then upgrade the graphics card... i read that it changed to november when you did this, but now it says 4-6 weeks instead...

looks like it's going to be a late november ship for the 4850 cards...

EDIT: This only happens in the Australian education store, sorry....

This wait is killing me. I haven't had a new mac in 5 years since the first G5 iMacs. Cmon apple get me my HD power house!!!!

My 3 year old white iMac has a logic board or graphics card issue. Delivery can't come soon enough. I'm concerned about Roboden's dates above for the i7 especially since I just got in the que yesterday. It is what it is.

Hopefully today or tomorrow we'll all get some definitive dates.

I ordered the 27" I7 Quad the morning they announced it. A few days ago I canceled my order and today I reordered. Still says "November".

I will be curious to see if my shipping will be that much later than the other folks that ordered on the same day they were announced. Hopefully not.

its a shame apple wont just say what the hold up is. Its the waiting all over again.

Sure people would understand if we know what the hold up is..

I ordered my i7 on launch day and rush to my iphone every time I hear the new email sound hoping that its an update to my order

What's strange is the "Apple Remote" part of my order changed from "Not yet shipped" to "Prepared for Shipment" this morning. From everything I've heard the remotes aren't supposed to ship until late November. Anybody else have this happen?

Maybe this means my iMac will be shipped sooner than I expect. I can only hope. :)

My remote has changed to "prepared for shipment" as well. States it will be shipped AND received 11/18/09. That could mean it's being overnighted from China. My order for the iMac still shows "ships in November."

I am as anxious as everyone else. I ordered on the day they became available and it clearly said at that time -- ships in November. Am I curious to know why it may not ship for another 4-34 days? Sure. But will it make the wait any shorter if Apple states the reason is . . .? No. Patience.

It seems many of us are in a bit of a quandry. We are anxious and eagerly anticipating the shipment and arrival of our iMac Quad-Cores (iMac i7 2.8GHz, 8 GB, 2TB, for me). BUT, on the other hand, that excitement is tempered by reports of lagginess after the iMac has been running for 20 minutes or so (juddery, freezes, memory leak?) AND reported display problems (flickering, blotchiness, lines).

Some have opined it is a temperature issue, others feel it is related to the graphics card. It is interesting to note, most of the complaints relate to the 27" model. The 27" C2D runs the same ATI HD 4670 as the upgraded stock 21.5". That would tend to suggest it is not a GPU problem. In any event, our Quad-Cores will have the ATI HD 4850 (which *I* believe is the reason for the November ship date), so if it is a grahics display issue, it will *hopefully* not affect our computers :)

It is also interesting that some have suggested never to purchase a new model because there are bound to be issues. They say wait 6 months. Well, if we wait 6 months, shouldn't we just wait a few more weeks when Apple will be releasing *new* models with Blu-Ray, USB 3.0 and RGB LED's? :p

As much as I'd like for my iMac to ship 11/2, I'd be happy to wait until 11/30, if it means there will be no performance or display issues (whether corrected by software, hardware or QC).

Does anyone know if amazon will eventually have the i7 to pre-order/order? Right now they have the i5.

I'm another waiter. Ordered my 27" i7.. no other upgrades. Waiting (im)patiently.

come on...

come on..........
