I just phoned them and was told that mine has cleared customs and it is in town but won't be delivered until Monday. I asked if I could pick it up at the center but was told it's sitting in a locked truck. I'm in Ottawa.

I wish Apple would let us choose which shipping company to use.

I'm with you Poonaka. I would have chosen FedEx if I was given the option. UPS is far too inconsistent and unaccommodating. Currently I have 3 UPS shipments on route to me (all from Apple) and all 3 have been rescheduled.
 
This just in. After sitting on the tarmac in Shanghai since Nov 10, UPS has moved my iMac shipment delivery date out 1 day. It was originally supposed to be delivered on Tuesday Nov 17 but it has been rescheduled to Wednesday Nov 18. #fail

I'm baffled at how UPS can have a shipment sit around for 3 days and then move the date out. Wouldn't it be in their best interest to send it out as quickly as they could? Seems to me like they don't really care about sticking to their own deadlines.

I hate UPS with a passion. If I have a shipping choice, I always go with FedEx. UPS smashes the boxes on about 1/3 of the shipments I receive from them. FedEx stuff always arrives like it was just packaged at the facility.
 
mine was supposed to be here monday 11/16...
but now its on the truck for delivery... should be any minute now!!!

Mine is showing at the local Fed Ex facility (Oakland) but is still scheduled for Tuesday delivery. Thank God. Please do not put the thing on on a truck and deliver it today. The last thing I want is to get a brand new Apple product on Friday the 13th.

Canceled my C2d + 4850 today. I though that the wait was too much...and I wouldn't have enough satisfaction. Infact, I ordered an i5! :D Now THAT will be a great jump! Can't wait!

Maybe Australian Customs thought they were actual apples. :)
 
My i5 arrived at work this morning, and I'm transferring my files now. It was ordered the week of the 20th, and shipped Tuesday as "international economy" with an estimated arrival of 5 business days (next Tuesday). Once it got put on a FedEx plane Thursday night in Shanghai, it zoomed through 2 FedEx hubs and went straight on the delivery truck from my local airport. Nice of them to beat their own guarantees!

Finally got some movement on my i7 to Ontario, Canada.

UPS has rescheduled it's final delivery from Tues Nov 17 to Wed Nov 18. Funny, it sits around for 3 days and then it gets rescheduled. *shrug*
 
My iMac is taking the scenic route...

It never fails to amaze me how many people despise UPS and yet UPS never seems to change...My i5 has flown from Shanghai, to Anchorage, to Louisville, then it looks like truck to Buffalo, to Mount Hope, Ont. It would have flown over me just after it left Alaska....lol.....Now to get it from Ontario to outside Edmonton, AB will take them till Mon or Tues. If this is logistics, they missed the boat.....I would never voluntarily use UPS...and if Apple really cares about their customers, they will find a new carrier....UPS is a joke......


Oh yes, and UPS has the audacity to call this service "Express"

Maybe pony express...

That's asinine. Clearly FedEx has the market on international deliveries. They know how to do it. From the looks of it, iMacs sent by FedEx are making it to their happy owners FASTER than scheduled. That's not the case with UPS.

Personally, shipments I make are always done with FedEx unless outside of my control. Maybe if enough people stop shipping with UPS they'll finally take a hint.

Wow! Nice! Mine is *still* sitting with Fedex in Shanghai since Thursday. I am baffled and befuffled.
 
Ditto here on the UPS, nothing but empty promise dates and poor poor service.

Federal Express is the only way to fly ;-) quite literally lol
 
I've made up my mind!

Reading this forum all the time and i've made a decision, im not going to order an iMac anymore, but im just going to buy a top of the line 15" Macbook Pro in the next few days, and order a new Quad Core at the beginning of january when all this hype cool's down and the shipping date is within 24 hours!

Im sure i can do without an iMac for a month and a half? :eek: Well ill soon find out :p
