How is this happening? Out of curiosity did your tracking information show it coming or did you enter a void? I'm sitting "in transit" for coming up on 2 days and no movement. Mine is scheduled for Monday, and it would be a super happy surprise if it actually showed up. I'd find it hard to believe it would not be scanned into the system here though. I fear that some of you are just very lucky.

Shipping is a 7x24 business. Only the pickup and delivery legs might be restricted to business hours.

mine is W656 and my card has be charged since tuesday... I am thinking today sometime...
Looks like you got lucky. Mine followed your path of being "in transit" but has never hit the "Int'l shipment release" stage. It's just sitting "in transit." Interestingly enough, the remote shipped at the same time from a different city in china, and has spent two days in the "Int'l shipment release" phase with no updates after that.
Man, depressing. I don't think I have had a worse experience buying from Apple in 20 years of buying from Apple.
UPDATE: talked to fedex and yeah, you somehow got massively lucky. we followed the same track, and fedex confirms there is no way I am getting this today as it's not even in Alaska yet.
I am now even more bummed. How some of you got so darn lucky, I will never know. I have seen people who ordered after me get theirs, people who had ship dates after mine get theirs, and people who had delivery dates after mine get theirs. Amazing.Finally, my order is Prepared for shipment. I'm happy because I only ordered it on the 5th in France and thought it would ship later.

I've been watching this forum since day 1, figured it was about time to jump in.
Just wondering if anyone else is waiting under the same circumstances that I am.
My 24" dual 3.06 went up in flames about 10/20. Covered by AppleCare.
Twice they sent out techs to my location to make repairs, but were unsuccessful, and it was turned over to corporate who decided to replace it with a new 27" dual 3.06. Great deal from my pov.
They allowed me to upgrade to the i5 by just paying the difference.
After a few days of thought, I upgraded again to the i7, on 11/09.
Although the order says "priority", I am still "not yet shipped".
Has anyone else received a replacement, or are you still waiting, not so patiently as I am? I'm having to revert to the 1ghz g4 till the new one arrives, geekbench 562.......ack......ack.......ack

I think Apple has i7 with 8GB in stock (so not BTO). Most people in Europe that ordered it with 8GB in November, seems to be shipped quickly. I ordered a i7 with 4GB on the 4 November and the status did not move.

Congrats.. But this is getting beyond a joke that people who have ordered when they where released and have yet to have theirs shipped. Ordered mine 22nd and still jack ****..
I ordered on the 2nd and I still have jack to show for it.
I think Apple is being dishonest about the whole first come first serve based on the fact that people here like the post above clearly have ordered after me and others yet their orders have shipped.

Which November orders have shipped? My order was over a week before yours, and it just shipped this morning.
FedEx shipped mine from Shanghai to Mi in less than 24 hours, when I only paid for 2-3 day shipping. UPS seriously sucks, and I'm glad mine ended up being shipped by FedEx.
that means it will be delivered today if you are home. if you aren't call your local fedex and find out when the truck is scheduled to be back at fedex and if you can come pick it up before they close. my local fedex has trucks back by 6 and they close at 7, not sure about others. hope you get yours today!
Here I am complaining about how long it's taking for my iMac to arrive and a friend of mine emails me the recent experience he had with a MacBook purchase.
Puts it in perspective - it's just a computer. Late but no lives lost is perfectly fine with me.

My i7 is dead on arrival.
I can't be doing anything wrong: Plug in power. Press power button. Same as my 2007 iMac? I've swapped power cables and the same cable will power the old iMac.
It is taking standby power from the mains, my UPS shows some current draw like the other iMac, but the power button is completely unresponsive. No fans, no screen, not a glimmer of life.
Please tell me I'm doing something stupid, like I've missed the master on/off switch.
