I'm guessing you will see some activity the week of the 23rd since Apple has ramped up a bit. I waited 3 weeks, but I would guess new orders should start moving in 2 weeks.

I also ordered my i7 on October 31 at 2:30 and I've got nothing. Mine is headed to Vancouver. My service rep told me "next week" probably. Blarg!

That's nice that yours has at least shipped. How long did it take between "Prepared for Shipment" and "Shipped" if you don't mind me asking?

around 24 hours not to long ...but to be fair with my last comment i have a delivery date of 18th so if i get it by Wednesday i will be rapped, hope yours ships soon.

Sorry squirrelmstr, I should have been more clear in my post. Sadly, I don't even have a "prepared for shipping" so you are ahead of the game.

The rep told me that the first group has shipped and the second group will be ready to go out next week. It seems odd to me as UK i7 orders and some in certain parts of the US that were ordered in early November have shipped...

you guys are lucky

I ordered mine 10/28 they authorized my credit card the 5 of nov then canceled it 5 days later and nothing at all after that. Still says ships in November. I think Apple hates me or my money, although they have taken a lot of it from me this year. How very frustrating ! I have called several times and although there always very polite its like thanks for calling but we tell you nothing but hurry and and wait!

My i7 was ordered October 31, I am still waiting. Last night I placed an order with Apple Store for a keyboard cover and a cable, it was 10 cents short of free shipping. So I called Apple and asked for free shipping because I have the iMac on order. No problem, she kept apologizing that I had to call. All she could say about my iMac delivery was it would be "November". Then I asked if I could add on the $100 printer and get the $100 rebate. No problem, then she said to make up for my inconvenience , she would upgrade me to the $129.00 printer at no extra charge. So it will only cost me sales tax for the printer after I get the rebate. As soon as I hang up the phone, I get an email, it says Apple has shipped my printer and I will have it Saturday morning.
If their system can work this fast, they must really be overwhelmed with quad core iMac orders to cause such delays.

i ordered my i7 on the 20th got shipped on the 11th got as far as hong kong and is still sitting there its now 14th here in Australia.... you might get yours when i get mine lol

looks like there's a few of us. Maybe there'll be a special TNT iMac flight from HK to Sydney!

Im beginning to think i should have ordered an i7 - i havn't seen any proof of anyone receiving their i5 that was ordered late October/early November - let alone any landing in Australia..

One can hope i guess, but who knows...

So I called my local apple store in Estero, Florida and they just got some i5 iMacs in. I have a i7 that I am waiting for to to PFS. Soo close if they had the i7 I would just go pick it up!

Are you sure about that? I talked to an Apple rep today online. "David" said that they wouldn't be shipping to retail stores until they had fulfilled all of the pre-orders and updated the webpage. Could you double check (maybe pm me), to be sure that they have the quads and not just mistakenly identified duos?

BTW, anyone else know more info about whether I ought to go ahead and order an i5 or wait and see if it would be quicker to see 'em show up around the corner at my local retail store???

THANKS!

More pics to come later.

All I have to say now is how shocked I am at how much better the screen is than the 24". Shocked actually. I haven't gotten to test any handbrake encodes yet, but will soon.

Cool wallpaper! Is that preloaded on the new Macs?

P.S. Think you got enough storage now? Looks like you've got at least 3TB in external storage, plus 2TB in your new iMac. Video editor? Someone should buy you a 1PB drive for Christmas. :p

Alot of people would be really pi$$ed off if the retail stores started stocking the new imac before the online orders were filled. Especially this early in the piece.

Maybe they say that to get you into the store, and then say "oops ey ohh we have just run out of stock.. but if you would like to order one while you are here ey"

Interestingly the apple store phone number for tracking enquiries tells me that it is outside of normal office hours, and to call back next week. Thought it was a global number as the people who have answered my calls in the past were not in my timezone...

Plus the 2TB OWC Drive.

I actually use the OWC drive for video editing because it is RAID-0 which is needed because sadly the Drobo is not fast enough. I have a little over 1TB of iTunes right now (which will grow), so for now I think I am going to move it to the iMac since it can now house the space. I plan to use the Drobo for back-up of my media. The Time Capsule is 500gb, just enough for my doc's and home movies in iMovie.

Just set up my i5, and Jesus Christ this thing is huge... Everything is so beautiful on this screen. :D

I agree. I still can't get over the screen. I even saw them in the Apple Store before I received it today and having it at home makes world of difference. The 24" actually looks small next to it.

Shanghai'd

My iMac had an origin scan in Shanghai 25 hours ago, and no update in status since then. I hope that doesn't mean it's just been sitting on a shipping dock doing nothing. It's supposed to arrive on the 17th...
