Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

spoken to after sales 3 times, with a different excuse each time.
It's so frustrating hearing of others receiving theirs when they've ordered much more recently. My status hasn't changed since ordering: not yet shipped
Would a written complaint help?

At last someone in the same boat as me!

To be honest writing a letter will not get the machine here any quicker. Also the way the ordering is done the call centre doesn't know anything. Its the same as the stores. When I worked for apple we only knew that morning what was in or out of stock.

Keep me posted though mate. I think its more to do with that we ordered base i5 machines and are based in the UK. If we had done i7's or bto machines we might of got them already.

Still two more UPS shipments to go! The iMac and the remote. Both had origin scans out of Shanghai within an hour of each other on Nov 11 (remote out of SHENZHEN, iMac out of Shanghai) so we'll see who wins the race. Right now the remote is winning:

I extra for 'Express' 2-3 day shipping and it's actually going to take closer to 7 days. If you weren't lucky enough to pay for Express shipping, there's a good chance that even though UPS got possession of your iMac last week, it's still sitting in Shanghai. Ask sdo about that.

UPS in Canada is terrible.

I second that. According to Apple, they gave my i7 to UPS on Nov. 12th. It actually left Shanghai on the 15th (sitting 3 days in some warehouse). Instead of seeing the usual Anchorage flight however, it was shipped to Osaka, Japan on the 15th and arrived there on the 16th. I'm guessing it could be leaving for Australia now or, why not, Peru or Zimbabwe...

Hi all! I ordered my i5 with 8 (4x2) ram, iwork and hp plus printer this morning via phone. 5 min later it showed shipping date 11 dec and arr date 23 dec.
From what I read here it is taking less then 5 weeks.

Anybody else has ordered in Switzerland?
Is yours also that slow to deliver??
Mine is also comming via Holland.

i ordered a stock i5 on 25th oct. and my shipping status is still showing: November

I let them 1 more week, if the status of my order doesn't change i'll cancel my i5! Damn

Ordered 11/4th with i7/2tb/4gb shipped yesterday. Received tracking this AM.. Scheduled to arrive Thursday to Delaware. Hoping maybe will get here a day early...

I ordered the i7/2tb/8gb on October 31. Just got tracking number this morning, scheduled for delivery here in Delaware on Thursday also. Do you think these FedEx drivers are going to have trucks full of iMacs ?

Yep its almost comical how when you call them they have a different, nonrelated to the last, obscure reason why your mac hasn't shipped. Its like they have a list of excuses to go though and they just try each one on to see what sticks. I know its not the people on the helpdesks fault, in reality they are probably normal humans like you and me. You can almost feel sorry for them for the amount of angry people who would be calling through.

I still don't understand after being told that (well one of the excuses) there is a shortage of parts to make my i5 that people who have ordered after me have received them, and stores in the US are stocking them. Its not about if a plane is going to Oz, as people here are receiving their i7's. Apple needs to do something about this fast before the people who ordered in October simply start cancelling their orders from frustration. There is a saying - excuses never yield results My Rant over too now..

Aaarrrrrgggghhhh. I Hate Ups!!!!!!!!!

Well, I talked to UPS half an hour ago....No one knows where my i5 is!!!!!it was supposed to enter in Winnipeg instead of Mount Hope. the whole lot coming to Edmonton and area were sent to the wrong ------ port of entry. They can't tell me where it is now. They first said it was headed to Peace River. I asked them if UPS owns a map. I live 30 mins. from Edmonton. Peace River is 8 hours north of Edmonton. A supervisor called back and told me they are not sure where it is as it is in transit.......blah , blah , blah...What a clueless bunch of idiots....

Typing this on my new 27" iMac.

Two quick first impressions:

Mouse is awesome but too slow (even after I sped it up as much as possible). Or is the screen to big?

Keyboard? Will be great for the HTPC mini downstairs but not for me as I need the number pad.

It really was like calling Dell, he then went on to say he looks at 150 orders a day and they are always different which is why they are shipped in different time scales, when I asked him to check the order number of the units that arrived today he refused and disconnected the call.

I received my i7 as dead on arrival on the 13th.
I called AppleCare on the 14th.

The promised the RMA number has not yet arrived, however I have just received notification of a new i7 order. And the shipping date? "November". Wah!

My Apple Care started the day they "Shipped" the iMac, although when I called tonight they had no tracking details and it says delivery on Nov 25th thats 2 weeks already gone from the Apple Care cover.

I am not going to worry too much about it until the iMac gets here then I shall get them to restart it some how...

Previously was just 'In transit to customer, Shipment on Schedule' with no tracking details. Just now it changed to 'Preparing handover to final carrier', still no tracking details.

Guess it is in the UK at least!
