Is there anyway to speed up the shipment?
I ordered my iMac 27" with an i7 cpu the 27 october, but it still hasn't been shipped or even ready for shipment. Been calling apple daily to see if there's any new report, but they keep saying it will probably ship this week or the next...

I'm ordinaryly satisfied with apple's services and support, and I'm quite a fanboy. But waiting a month for my computer to even ship is ridiculous...
I did however get 700 SEK (about 70 euros) because I ordered by telefone, and didn't get an offer for a reduced price on a printer. I later called in and wanted a printer with the reduced price. But the salesman couldn't do that. Instead he to me to email him as soon as I get my computer, he would transfer 700 SEK to my account that I later emailed to him. Now that is good costumer service!:)

I live in Sweden (Lund, Skane) btw, if that would matter.

Does anyone know exactly how long it takes for FedEx to update tracking after this point:

Nov 16, 2009 12:06 PM
Left FedEx origin facility
SHANGHAI CN ?

It's been like that since yesterday with no updates. It still says Nov 18th delivery, but still showing in China and I'm near Washington, DC - That's quite the trek in 24-36 hours.

Got the same info as you. Est delivery tomorrow, still in China today. I dont think so. I think these are on a plane heading to the US, once they clear customs we should see an update. From there, it shouldnt be to tough to get to your door step within 24 hours. I hope at least. I took tomorrow and Thursday off of work to enjoy my new i7! I hope that wasnt a waste of vacation days.

For UK customers with "Merge In Transit GB" status and no ability to track your shipment Apples Order Status page is almost comical.

My order shipped on the 12th with the message "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule" and dated 17th November. My best guess this is the date that my iMac reaches a British fulfillment/distribution centre where they combine the rest of my order (Time Capsule / Applecare). HOWEVER I check today (17th) and now the message reads "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule" and dated 18th November. Guess if I check tomorrow it will slip another day but still be reported as being "On Schedule".

I have an Apple delivery estimate of 25th November which I initially regarded as a "worst case scenario" date but I'm not so sure now. Funny how in the US shipping from Shanghai to ultimate address can be 3-4 days, but here up to two weeks?

Mine also was shipped on 12 November, ordered 22nd October with Applecare & the remote unfortunately-I now know that means the dreaded 'Merge in Transit GB' with delays and no tracking number guaranteed!!!
Yesterday 16th I was pleased to see "Preparing handover to final carrier' BUT now the date has changed to 17th & it's gone back to "in transit to customer".
My delivery date remains the 20th. This is SO frustrating and time-consuming-oh for a tracking number!!! Thanks for your updates & I'll keep you posted-at least there are a number of us in the same boat (slow boat from China).

Hi I also ordered on oct. 21st
My iMac was purportedly shipped oct. 11th. But I haven't received a tracking number, it wasn't until yesterday evening my status finally changed from "in transit to final destination carrier" to " Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date" (the delivery date is on friday oct. 20th.)
And finally a carrier was added, but I'm still not able to track the shipment as the carrier is "NL DISTRIBUTION CENTER" and the tracking number is the same delivery reference number as I've had from day one.
So basically my iMac is stranded in some distribution center in Holland.
I phoned Apple yesterday to ask why I hadn't received any tracking information yet and I was told that I wouldn't receive any tracking info before the shipment had been handed over to my "final destination carrier" and that it should happen within a couple of days.
I just hope my iMac will be there on friday so I don't have to wait out the weekend.
By the way I think it's a bit unfair that american orders a flown directly by a carrier, while european, or Scandinavian orders are delayed by waiting in centers and depots, so that they can be shipped in quantities, why not just hand it over to the carrier directly from the factory, then I would at least get some tracking info

It really is a joke! But it isn't funny

this is the same as what happened when I ordered my new MacBook Pro. You will not get a tracking number now until either TNT or UPS bring it over to the Uk

The ironic thing is mine is only going to merg in transit for an AppleCare terms booklet which you can download. Saying that once it was handed over I did have it the next day with my MBP.

I think most people would just like to know the realtome status of their order rather than some guy trying to second guess.

I placed my order on Oct 20th a few minutes after the store came back online I then placed another order for another 3 of the same i7 units three days later my first order could be anywhere and the later order of a further three units are all set up.

I get the feeling Apple are starting to less and less about it's customers

I just got my tracking number, i7/8GB/2TB ordered on the 8th.

The times appear to be China Standard Time (CST) which is 3 hours behind my time zone: Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).

Hey guys,

Yesterday, my shipment status was this :

Today, it changed to this :

What do you think that means? Will the NL merge happen later than scheduled, or has this become the date of the final delivery?
I'm confused. Did that happen to anyone else here?

Mine just change from Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 19 Nov 2009

to

Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 21 Nov 2009

But still says:

Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) 30 Nov 2009

Is it comming 21 nov or 30?

Yes it is very confusing - the wording is present tense but the dates are in the future.

I'm exactly in the same case as you. Where are you located?
Mine also changed from 19 to 21 (see 2 messages above yours)

edit : usually it comes BEFORE the estimated date, but I don't know if the other date (19 or 21) is the order merge or not.

The same thing happened with my order.. I think those dates just doesn't mean anything.. It will probably arrive at the 26th..

The date in the red box is the date the last action/update was made or the date of the next expected action/update

i would NEVER take off of work, on the hope that Fedex was going to deliver my computer early..
It seems like EVERYONE got a delivery notice saying their machine was going to be delivered 2 days after leaving China; did anyone actual GET THEIR machine 2 days after it left China?

Next Business Day

Just called apple, and it seems its the same as what others have said about the order status. But they did upgrade my shipping for free. I already had 2-3 day on the order, so they upgraded it to "next business day"

Q: Has anyone got "next business day" shipping, and actually received their imac on the next business day? I would think that it would be hard shipping from china. (ordered on an imac i7 on 11/11, and got the remote today).

I really can't wait.
Cleaned my desk, made room, bought some nice stuff for on the desk which matches the iMac!

The party is here! the only thing missin is the birthday-boy :(

Hey everyone :)

Ordered i7 with 8gb ram, 1tb drive online from Toronto on Nov 9 and just got the "prepared for shipping" notification. Hope it gets here by Saturday the 21st.

About cleaning the desk .... I found the perfect desk lamps for this machine.

Google the "mini i-bar" or "z-bar" from Koncept. It's a little expensive but it looks cool for a LED lamp. I ordered from Amazon. In black or matching silver.

Enjoy the power of the :apple:

Seriously? You ordered on Nov 11? It hasn't even been a week and you called Apple to complain about slowness? I ordered on Oct 22, it was shipping on Nov 11 and I'm still waiting.

I guess the loudest wheel gets the grease.

Did I say anywhere in my post that I complained? I simply called to get an upgrade on shipping.

Read the post before you make a quick reply.

Maybe you didn't raise your voice but you certainly called them to voice your displeasure and wanted compensation. All I'm saying is that there are many others who've been waiting alot longer than you have.

And let me know if you do get it next business day. I'd be impressed if FedEx can deliver so quickly. UPS would never make it. FedEx just works.

Understand your frustration but you can't really shoot the guy down for phoning Apple and see if he can expedite his order.

Actually, if you MUST know, I simply called to see whether the 7-10 day applied to all orders, since I ordered it before the 7-10 day announcement.

Besides, this is not a competition on who get's their imac first. I just wanted to ask the forum community on their opinion on "next business day" shipping. So can we please get back on topic?
