Ronni can be as awesome as you think but I wouldn't put money on it.

WTF! Ronnie for president!

Jokes aside, your right. I guess we'll find out this week. I was just sharing what I found and thought it would help pass the weekend nicely with a smile on my face.... knowing that my system might be shipped out this coming week :D

Will we? We're all anxious, but Apple could easily leave "Ships: November" even though we will be in the month of November. If we get to December, than that's another story

Apple will update the shipping status when they know when the i5/i7 will be shipping. Can you imagine what would happen here if they updated to "ships: 3-5 business days" and that didn't happen? :D

Well, my guess is that the status of 'November' will be changing in the next day or so (to be more precise)... seeing that we're in the month of November.

Hopefully:D

The Apple Remote shipped ahead of schedule, as did the Magic Mouse. Snow Leopard was also early, so we have hope.

Based on Apple's past though, shipping November would mean, end of...we shall see.

My 27" i7 iMac order says that I ordered it at: "Oct 20, 2009 at 04:53 PM GMT"

Exactly when did the store's go online again worldwide that Tuesday?

I'm trying to work out how fast after the store came back up, I placed my order :)

What's the difference between two 4GB memory chips and four 2GB memory chips?
4x2GB will be cheaper than 2x4GB, but if you ever want to upgrade to 16GB, you will have to buy 4x4GB instead of another 2x4GB.

jddar,

This is your first Mac?

Trust me, you will never go back to a PC.

I was a devoted PC user for nearly 20 years.
When Windows started crashing on me constantly
and I was being rampaged by viruses a friend
recommended I try a Mac. He had recently bought
one and loved it.

However, like most PC users there is this myth
that Macs are more complicated to use and that
they just aren't as good a computing experience
as Windows.

Wow! I believed that myth too until I bought a
Mac Pro back in 2007. Immediately I was finding
my way through OS X. Found it works exactly like
Windows with a few slight changes -- but most of
all BETTER than Windows. No crashes. No viruses.
No registry to deal with. Everything just works.

And the software you get is QUALITY and highly
intuitive. Within days you will be making your
own movies, webpages and organizing your photo
collection like you never did before.

Now I am selling my Mac Pro and waiting on the
27" i7 iMac. It just doesn't get better than this.

The manuals are good to fall back on, but
really, you probably won't need them.

I am a postal employee and have turned at
least 7 co-workers from PCs to Macs. All of
them have sworn it to be the best switch of
their life. And, without any manuals, all of them
have been doing really cool stuff with iLife and
iWork.

Learning a Mac is very intuitive. You will
be surprised how easy it will be to make your
own movies and webpages without reading directions.

You will love Mac!

Dash,

As a life-ling PC user recently gone Mac in the
last three years I promise you that you will never
want to go back to PC after using Mac for a week.

The difference in overall computing experience
between Mac and Windows (outside of gaming) is
like night and day. People make fun of Mac
devotees without understanding the exact reason
why we are so enthusiastic about the platform.

The software yuur iMac and the things you can
do with it will amaze you. You are in for a
life-changing experience, and I am not hyping
any of this beyond what deserves to be hyped.

I tried finding the chat function in the Apple
online store but could not find it.

I am on my way out the door.

Can I burden someone to try the chat and
ask if the i7 is shipping out next week as well?

I would think if one ships so does the other
as the specs are the same outside of the chips.

So, while we got one favorable response that
at least the i5s will be going out next week
(I would imagine that the case for the i7s as well)
the rest of the responses sort of offset that.

Looks like to me there is very limited information
available through these reps and that the one
may not be reliable (with NO disrespect intended
for the member/poster that had the chat).

All I am saying is go ahead and be optimistic
but something tells me we may be waiting at
least another two weeks yet for these to ship.

I hope I am proved wrong.

Quite frankly, with these reported problems with
the current 27" iMacs I would rather wait another
two weeks to be sure Apple addresses the problems
at hand.

Dude!!! Why do you keep tying
like this, you know, not fully
reaching the end of the line before
going to your next line?? It's very
annoying! What is this poetry??

Dude, why you wasting everyone's time
quoting all my posts?

You mean couldn't quote a line or two?
Had to do the whole production? What's
wrong with you?

To answer your question....live with it!

Sorry the thread had to be hijacked
with someone copying all my posts in
one thread.

Very simply, this is my posting style.
It's neat and it sort of sticks out in
the pack. Been typing like this on
forums for years with little complaint.

Now let's get back to our normal discussion.

And you are wasting everyone's time by taking up more lines than necessary. If I want to scroll from the bottom to the top of the page quickly, you're posts make it harder for no reason. Do you really need to do that?

It is a little strange.
It's VERY strange. I don't see why he has to do that in ALL of his posts.

It wouldn't surprise me if the "Ships: November" never changes. With the remote I had a ship date of November 18 arriving on November 23. That didn't change but the order moved to "Prepared to ship" and is now in route for delivery on Monday. It's possible we'll see the same with the systems.

Personally I really want to see it prior to the 24th. Like at least one other here this is my birthday present. :D

The store came back in the uk about 4.50pm my order shows 4.51 gmt

I'm sorry, wasn't this topic about the
arrival date of the 27" Quads?

It is, but I PMed you asking why you write like that and you didn't answer. It creates a lot of unessesary scrolling, especially on a mobile device. We are sitting here waiting, twiddling our thumbs and doing nothing so it's hardly a hijack.

I have a feeling it is not going to be changed. The last person I talked to at Apple mentioned it will ship "this month." That person was clearly referring to November and the ship date still has not been changed, but at least we know it will ship within 4 1/2 weeks.

Also remember that Apple is having
problems with their 27" iMac line at
this moment.

There a considerable amount of new
owners complaining about lags and
flicker.

I would hope that Apple would hold
off on rushing the i5 and i7 iMacs
off the assembly line to make certain
that they are not going to be plagued
with the same defects.

Quite frankly, as impatient as all of
us are, I would rather wait the extra
two weeks to allow Apple to test out
these new computers.

I
ordered
a
quad
core
a
couple
weeks
ago
with
the
new
remote.

Remote

I
also

about
