Yeah, me too! I'd avoided all the obvious problems and the risk of dead pixels to get this! Fingers crossed it was a one-off, but I doubt it.

I order my i7 27" iMac on nov. 27 black Friday and had ship date of dec 11 and received day of dec 14. It actually arrived today!

Son of a B. I've still got no movement on my nov 27 standard i5 and other BTO orders are being delivered! I really hope I see some action this afternoon. iPhones are cool, but it sucks using it as your only computer.
Thanks for posting a picture of that - I thought that was just an overheating issue with mine. I'd been playing games on Windows at the time, so I was worried it would be a constant problem even with a replacement.
"Luckily" I'm already waiting for my replacement because of a cracked screen, so I won't have to return it over christmas.
(I also had a noisy hard drive and one dead pixel, looks like I got the whole set of problems eh?)

Since the PRAM reset, I haven't had any issues (and it has been running for about 6-7 hours since). Yours is recurring I guess?
It happened about 3 times, all on windows. I just attributed it to overheating. I'm guessing any graphically intensive work will trigger it, maybe.
Feck.

Interesting - when you click the "cancel" option online it asks for a reason. "Product is unlikely to work" isn't an option so I chose delivery time too long (also true as its a Xmas present with delivery scheduled for 4th Jan). When I click on "confirm cancellation" I get a message saying I now can't cancel - I need to call up to discuss it. To recap: ordered 8th, cancelled 9th, due to be built 22nd. WTF is going on with Apple. Is the cancel option only for show? Does nothing work like its meant to at Apple?

I thought if you did BTO you couldn't cancel?
I had a look at the Apple website it says:
If your order has not yet shipped, you can request to cancel your order via our Self Service website. If your order is preparing for shipment or already in transit, please wait for your order to be delivered before initiating the return on our Self Service website or by contacting Apple Store Customer Service. Please note that you may be liable for a return transportation charge. To find out more about returns, please click here.
Not mention of BTO. Besides - they aren't saying I can't - they are saying that you have to call them up. I did. 5 minutes of IVR to find out they shut at 8pm. Sweet
Apologies - 27" i7 BTO (with 2 TB HD as the only option). Also, called Apple, but they couldn't upgrade shipping now that it has gone into "prepared for shipment" mode (or so they say).

my i7 was supposedly picked up by FedEx last night (12/8), and low and behold, FedEx f'ed up and after almost 12 hours without an update I see a delivery exception saying that pickup missed some shipment cutoff time. Now, almost 20 hours later, the machine is still sitting in Shanghai with a new delivery date of 12/14.
So much for Apple upgrading my shipment to FedEx priority, talk about a waste of money. I usually have pretty good luck with FedEx but not this time...figures....

My i7 iMac has shipped. Was scheduled to ship on Friday, so I'm happy. Now scheduled to arrive on the 21st December, 1 day ahead of the initial estimate.
Interestingly, though, you can choose one of the "Get It Faster" holiday options besides the Standard and then it ships within 24 hours. I guess they must still have some of those lying around that they can ship out.
Interestingly, the UK store still shows 5-7 business days for the C2D and 7-10 business days for the i5/i7. It has been this way for quite a while now.
