Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

Hopefully someone will spot i5 versions in store this week, if there is a serious delay between i7 and i5 I may just go the i5 route. The i7 purchase for me is just to increase longevity of the system. (upgrading from white 2.16 7600gt version)
 
New to iMac

Hi everyone,

I've been following this thread since first post and I'm also very excited by the new iMac 27" i7 Quad because I also ordered one ;)

I'm checking the Apple Order Status Page 1000 times a day even if I know that when it'll change I'll receive an automatic email ;). I am sure I'm not the only one doing this!

I've checked at a local distributor through their internal website (shipping informations etc... But still no dates for the i7, it says 15 days by default)

Anyway here is my config:

iMac 27", Core i7 standard config with AppleCare, special University Price in Switzerland : 2400$ with tax and shipped.

Hope to get news from anyone for a shipping date soon!
At least November month is only a 30-day month :D

I would doubt that. The headquarters of an international company is not open 24 hours just because they do business internationally. Apple updates their website from Cupertino, not China. Thus, nothing will happen (*that's not a priority) until their designers get into the office.

Actually, although their headquarters may not be open 24 hrs a day, their web team and sales teams do work 24/7. They have teams located all over the US and the globe to get this accomplished.

Hah... Apple has you mystified. There's one guy named Steve, who's an insomniac. He's got a twisted sense of humor and throws out random names and accents when you call to chat or place an order with him. If your lucky he'll throw an extra Apple sticker in your order if your nice. Just be patient with Steve, as I understand he's a bit fanatical about giving out to much information and likes to park in handycap spots. Small quirks for being such a hard worker.

Give it up for Steve, the hardest working man in online & phone sales!
 
Oh man... I have been checking 100 times a day as well. This forum is exciting, knowing I'm not the only one at the edge of my seat. Anyways, I have called apple at least 2 times a day to ask the same bloody question, and every answer I got has been different and has provided me with no help. Here are the replies I got:

- It shouldn't be later than the first week of Nov.:eek:
- I have no idea, we don't know anything here.:confused:
- Nov. 3rd they should be shipping out:eek:
- I don't think it would be late Nov, but it won't be anytime before the 15th.:(
- (TODAY) I don't think it would be much later now. They will all be shipping at the same time, it doesn't matter who ordered when or what. We don't take orders in cues because that would complicate things, it all depends on where you are located and what you ordered. But it really shouldn't be any longer than a week from now.:):):):apple::apple::apple:
 
I just called Apple and was told by the rep:
"I am thinking, um, that it will be later in the month."

Well, I am thinking it is going to ship today but we all know that isn't true. You can think what you want, but don't give out any information that isn't solid Apple. :rolleyes:
 
My prediction: We will all have our new quad-core iMacs by November 30th at the latest.

You heard it here first! :p
 
I called and changed my keyboard type for my i7. They cancelled my order and created a new one. :eek:

I hope that doesn't make me wait even longer
 
:eek: Ok... this is getting ridiculous. I've been checking my E-mail account, the Apple Store and this thread to find out about the ship date nearly every five minutes. I'm almost tempted to cancel my order and yes... buy a PC with i7.

Amazingly enough nothing tho' I found out that the remote I ordered is arriving today rather than on Thursday as was scheduled with FedEx. Can't use the new remote with a Mac I haven't received yet.

It's amazing how much this waiting seems to have put my computer use on hold. I'm currently using an older PC with a core 2 duo, and a newly installed Windows 7. Windows 7 is excellent for Microsoft, and I'm looking forward to using it with Parelles on my new Mac when it arrives.

The question is when....?????? In-the-meantime I'll use the new remote with my AppleTV. But then again haven't been able to sync anything considering I don't have my new Mac, and I don't want to configure my old PC with iTunes thinking any moment now I'll get notice that the i7 has shipped. I should have waited on selling my 24" on Ebay. The person who bought my old (early 2009) iMac is getting there Mac today. Where is mine from Apple? Uggggggg. Apple give us some more info on shipping please.

For those who are using the Apple website for checking their status - theres an easier way. Download an app called 'Delivery Status' (works on iPod touch, iPhone and/or dashboard on your Mac). Its sweet - no need to constantly be signing in and out of the website.

When you've got the application working, go to www.junecloud.com/ds and sync your iMac shipment with the website.

Its updated every minute and the UI is pretty cool.

I think I might just do that... lol. Obviously I'm over reacting. I guess part of the anticipation with anything is half the fun.
 
Listen, they indicated mid November.

I'm at ease with that. Everyone else
should set their minds to that timeframe
and if its earlier consider yourself fortunate.

They didn't indicate mid-Novemeber. They indicated November. If it was going to the beginning of November, they would've said 2-3 weeks. It'll be mid to end because they didn't say that. But stop freaking out about it people, it will ship when it ships. Apple doesn't owe you anything, they said November, so they have the entire month to ship it out.

I ordered the C2D version and have enjoyed the last three weeks with it doing things for family and friends that I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. Meaning it was certainly NOT worth the wait for me :)

actually it is worth waiting!! Who told you mid to end november? Dont post these kind of commentaries here, this is a thread about shipping date of the high end imac and this is what were talking about. Were all excited and somewhat impatient to start using it.

I find it ironic that someone is telling the OP what the point of this thread is. I also find it ironic that the person who started the "waiting for the 27" Quad to ship" thread is lecturing the posters in that thread to quit obsessing about possible shipping dates.

well considering the OP went with the insta gratification of not getting the quad core they had to have speaks volumes for some people's rationalization of why they are buying in the first place. It rarely is need on this site.
