This is killing me. I want my i7 iMac so badly!!!

I only ordered it 15 minutes ago, but the wait is gruesome!

By the way, if anyone is interested, I'll be hooking up my 24" LED Cinema display to the iMac when the iMac arrives. I hadn't seen any pictures of this configuration, so will be sure to show you all. I'm a total resolution junkie. :D

Just pulled the trigger on an i7 iMac today also. Scheduled to ship on January 12th, and deliver on the 15th. Here's hoping it arrives more quickly.

iMac 27" i7 4gb ordered Dec. 16th

Initial shipment date estimate: Dec. 30th
Initial delivery date estimate: Jan. 6th

Actual shipment date: Dec. 25th
Actual delivery date: Dec. 28th

It just arrived. :)

It's here, one day earlier.

No issues to report besides a couple of dead pixels on the iSight, which is in fact a non-issue.

Very nice... time to do some heavy data transfer.

How come you guys have got yours! Mine was ordered on 16th and despatched on 24th and I haven't even got a tracking number! Bloody favouritism! :p

i7 has Arrived

My iMac just arrived this morning and it's a week 52 machine. I order it on the 16th of December with an initial delivery date of Jan 6. So far everything is normal no cracked screen. As for the other issues I'll check once the machine reaches room temperature. It cold outside about 30F.

i7 Order Status

When I ordered my iMac on the 19th I noticed that it showed up on my credit card as a pending item. Yesterday I called Apple's automated system and it said "Prepared for Shipment", though today I called again and it says "In Process" and the pending charge was removed all together. Also, the whole time the Apple's online order status hasn't changed from "Not yet shipped".

It seems like we're going backwards..

Similar situation here, first it was taken from my account, then the status changed to shipped they put the money back into my account. I phoned up Apple tonight. The guy on the phone wasn't that helpful, he said I had to wait for the email with tracking info. I told him it was despatched on the 24th, shouldn't I have had the info by now, he told me to wait till Jan 4th. So I queried him on why the money has gone back into my account and he turned round and said "because it hasn't shipped yet"

good to hear! hopefully it stays that way. my machine left anchorage at the same time as yours, yet the last scan still puts it en route from new york...if you don't mind me asking, where are you located?

I'm in Seattle...and had to watch it sail past me on the way from Anchorage to Memphis!

Just got my i7 imac in today! (Purchased Dec 1st, B&H) After giving it a few hours to acclimate to room temp, fired it up and gave it the once over.
Week 50, Seagate, no cracked screen, no dead pixels, no loud noises.
All good here!

Bit of movement in my order at last. Status changed last night from just 'Shipped' to 'In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule'

Also, I checked my bank when I got up this morning, they've taken the money. Always a good sign :)

Brilliant. Thank you for this nice checklist update. Sounds like one can get a great iMac after all. Now let's see how this works after 1-2-3 weeks of use :D

Nice to see a bit positivity at last! Someone has an iMac with no problems! Alas, there is hope for us all!

Can't wait to get mine now! I've put some Coax cable through to my bedroom today so I can get the eyeTV hooked up, gonna be goood! :)

Newbie

Hi everyone, just bought my first Mac. Long time PC user/technician. I'm having a bit of buyers regret due to the price tag but I'm more excited to get it.

Still no tracking details for me. But I did receive the Invoice PDF in my inbox this morning. I'm getting myself a Week 52 iMac, not that it seems to make much difference!
