Just checked the status before I went to work, shipped =). It will be here on wednesday!

Wow. And you didn't order until the 30th? What country are you in?

My Dec 23 order has no progress.

Congratulations on yours! Enjoy it.

These delays are most likley due to Apple scrambling to retool the defective monitors.

I wish all good luck on their current orders. Hopefully they will be defect-free.

Personally though, if it arrives defective, I'd settle for refund vs. a replacement. Its best to wait this calamity out then to waste time returning and receiving along with chronic aggrevation.

Ahahahahaha.

No, it's not. I've had two iMacs so far, Weeks 48 and 52, both defective with flickering screens. A whole MONTH between the week builds, and no fix. The delays are because they're selling so fast.

I ordered my i5 from MacConnection on Dec 21st. Per Cust Serv, they state they are hoping to receive their shipment on January 8th. I then get to wait the 5 days to receive it. So IF it ships on January 8th, and arrives at my door on January 13th (if all goes as planned), I will only have waited 23 days!! Why did I cheap out and not just order from Apple (oh yeah, wanted to save almost $250).

Ok, *finally* an update!!

My Dec 23 order has switched to "Prepared for Shipment," 12 days later as of this morning/afternoon.

I'm in the U.S. Any idea how long it typically takes to go "Prepared for Shipment," to "Shipped?" Should I have it by end of the week?

I'm very nervous about having a bad machine. I might get a good one though. If not, I will try to get a refund and return it, then wait for revision 2. I can't invest the time to keep trying out new machines, so fingers crossed.

I just cracked the box open on my week #53 iMac. Hard drive is quiet, but I've got yellowing in the bottom half of the screen. If Apple will do a straight refund, that's the direction I'm headed. Is that possible or will they refuse? Anyone have any suggestions?

I'd tell them you can't invest the time to swap the unit and just need them to collect that one and refund you. Tell them you'll have to go out and find another computer solution as you already weeks to get that one.

Once you get your answer, let me know how it went and the steps you had to take. If mine comes bad, I'm going to want a refund too.

Considering mine took 3 days to go from prepared for shipment to shipped, I would assume yours will be shipped tomorrow, since mine was ordered right next to a weekend holiday.

I live in the united states. The order was not placed by myself, it was placed by an applecare woman because this 27" is replacing my lemon 24".

Nice! Mine is still at the "Not Yet Shipped" stage. I wonder when it will materialise!

I would highly recommend returning it for a full refund. Most everyone who sent it back for replacement ended up with ANOTHER bad machine. Often with MORE problems.

You have 14 days for a full refund. Get that RA number ASAP.

May I enquire as to what to do then? As in, what do you recommend OSX wise as a reasonable replacement for a 27" iMac in terms of performance etc.

I know I wasn't the person you asked, but here are my thoughts. I may return mine for refund, if it has the yellow tinge and it bothers me. I've never seen yellow tinge in person yet.

However, if I have to return it, I'm going to use my current iMac a while longer. I won't be doing anything earth shattering new with mine, I Just thought it was a nice machine to upgrade to. Who could have thought it would have so many issues?

I guess for similar performance on the Mac side, you'd have to go to a Power Mac (sorry I mean Mac Pro), and they are probably due for an update before too long.

I feel bad for someone really in need of a really fast computer and big, perfect 27-inch display right now. They are in a tough situation unless all these reports of flawed machines are exaggerated.

I'n not tarnishing their other fine products, but this particular iMac is plagued with troubles. A MBP or anything else like a MP would do just fine. Sit on your hands and wait it out or buy another more tested product of theirs. The 27" iMac is just not up to snuff yet.

Feel bad for me. :( My Vista PC is about to kick it (monitor and CPU) and I was suppposed to have had this new iMac by now. I've had to pospone my purchase and all I want to do is bless Apple with $3K and be on my way. It's quite unfortunate and I hope the new revisions come along much sooner than the 6 months some have stated. I CAN'T wait that long. It's doubtful my PC machine will be around by then.
So yeah, pray for me... ;)

Fair thinking and thanks for your answer.

I ordered one on the basis I am happy to sit things out and wait for a repair.

I really need a faster machine for getting work done - my fastest machine is a macbook C2D running about 2.1Ghz. The second machine is a 4 year old iMac G5! I can't afford a mac pro and the other lower end machines just don't cut it performance wise - I plan on getting a 13" macbook pro to replace the macbook I currently have in about 5-6 months.

The 27" iMac is as close to a perfect price/performance for me.

So what is this I hear about an Apple Sales Rep saying every iMac shipped after the 18th of December should be fine? Hmmm

Ok, so this morning about 10am Pacific USA time, my iMac was prepared for shipment as I said before.

Then this evening at 8pm Pacific USA time it SHIPPED!

It was picked up at 10 something in the Tuesday morning in Shanghai.

The estimated delivery for me is Thursday. I guess that is the soonest I can expect it. I wouldn't think it could get from Shanghai to me in just 36 hours (for Wednesday), so I guess Thursday might be the day. We shall see.

Fingers crossed I wil get a solid unit.

This thread is intended for people waiting for their orders to ship.
Somehow, you seem to have mistaken it as a thread for people like yourself who have ordered nothing at all.
Your posts are obviously the fruits of a malicious agenda and you are gaining pleasure from an ongoing campaign to sow doubts in Apple buyers' minds and spoil the purchasing experience for as many MacRumors readers as possible. Your posts can be seen clearly for what they are by anyone willing to read back over some of them. Hopefully the moderator will do that and rectify the problem.

I'm in Iceland and ordered a 27" i7 on november 5th (I'm not kidding). They (the local Apple dealer) promised to deliver it today.
