Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

Anyone else order on the 23rd still waiting for shipping?
Mine is due to ship out on the 8th Jan (estimated at time of order), however I'm itching to give Apple a call to see if they have any more information. I would expect them to just say "sir, it shall be shipped on or after the 8th".
Gah. I hate waiting for new toys (even if those toys may have issues!)

Well, I've orded my BTO Core i7 27" iMac (UK) and have a ship date of 18th January. I guess it's taking them a long time to bang these out...
...still, if it means I get a machine free of many of the defects discussed here then it'll be worth the long wait. I just hope that's the case.

A Week 0 or week 1? Wow

you probably seen my posts first my Dec 23 order went to Prepared, yesterday morning, and then last night US time it went to shipped.
It is now sitting in Shanghai at least it was at 9pm SHanghai time, about 2 hours ago.
here is the BIG NEWS! I got my serial number. I have one from 2010!! I guess mine is from week 2! I guess they skipped week 1.
My serial starts W8002 . the first zero is the year, and then it's 02, so week 2.
If only 2010 machine could bring no yellow tinge, I'd be happy, but not getting too hopeful.

Cool! I got my week 53 yesterday. Immediately noticed the yellow tint on the bottom portion, backlight bleed in the bottom corners, as well as a 2 inch bar on the bottom where it is darker than the rest of the screen.
I'm going to wait a week or more and see what happens..
A real shame it's still happening. I think it's probably more than 99 percent likely mine will have yellow too but I guess there is always a chance I just get a "good," panel.

Promis me one thing guys. Don't look forward to them too much, the dissapointment can be quite huge when you actually get one that has issues.

You know what's wild? I just did a quote on Fedex.
If we as an individual wanted so ship one of these iMac boxes (42 pounds) with the imac in it from Shanghai to California, not in pallets and things like APple, but just as individuals. And if we did it the 2 day priority service like Apple, it would cost about $3,000! ha-ha. More than the iMac.

Well, that was pretty optimistic, turn's out they are a bunch of *-holes, no delivery today
2 days left for my i7 and I'm already pulling my hair out... It's a week 52 and the idea that there is a high probability that it will be flawed is killing me!!! If I hadn't known how widespread the problem was, I wouldn't care as much.
That aside, I recommend anxious waiters to download the Deliveries app for the iPhone. Very elegant realtime tracker for apples shipment status page, fedex, ups tracking and dozens more, plus maps.
When I receive it I'll definitely let you guys know about it's condition with pictures.

Hi guy, just a quick update. I noticed my Apple Order Status changed to delivery in 1 day! So I logged onto the site and clicked track shipment. I've got a UPS tracking number telling me it will be here tomorrow!

Mine that shipped in the past 30 hours is labeled as a week 2, so you'll probably get a week 2, 3, or 4. Yours might ship sooner than you think.
You should have the invoice with the serial number of the machine. The week is the second pair of numbers. The first pair denotes the build location and year (I believe).

I got the "your order has been shipped" email 30 seconds ago.
It does however state that the expected delivery date will be about 13 days away. Will it really take that long to arrive in the UK? Or can I expect it to arrive more quickly?

Go to the online order, click View Order Details, then you should be able to print the invoice.
