But think about how happy everyone would be if Apple didn't update the status and all of a sudden new iMacs show up at our doors tomorrow.
Except for those that plan to work from home the day it is expected to be delivered so they can sign for it. How about 100+ posts about people being upset that Apple shipped the iMacs early and didn't tell us and they were unable to sign for it.
ordered my i7 on october 22nd. can't freakin' wait. does anyone want to bide the time by telling me how the jump from my powerbook g4 15" to a new 27" quad is going to be?
i bought it to watch stargate universe in HD, does that count??

That is a MAJOR difference. I went from a 1.33 powerbook G4 to my 2.8 Intel Core2Extreme iMac, and it was a huge difference. Times that jump by 2.5x and you have your difference.
i just called apple and got a weird automated message saying my i7 has been "prepared for shipment" which is contrary to what the order status page says. When it prompted me if i wanted more info, i was sent to a real person who told me that at the earliest, i could expect to know an exact ship date later this week.
i think people are jumping the gun thinking they'll be getting their iMacs this week... i would imagine that apple would need a little more time to organize their order statuses if we were all getting them this week and if we were, they'd tell us. although, that could be wishful thinking
Called 1-800-MY-APPLE and got the same message that my i7 is prepared for shipment even though the order status online says differently.
I just called too and received the same message from the automated attendent. I had a two part order that I placed on 10/20 for the custom config iMac and the New Remote. Stated the the iMac was prepared for shipment and that the New Remote was shipped. I actually received the New Remote today.
BTW - the new Remote as trivial as it is; is actually nice. I love the way that Apple packages their products. Remote came in a nice hard plastic shell. I'm wondering if Apple is going to be introducing TVs someday? Maybe for another post but looking at the new remote compared to the older white one. This one is longer not sure what technology differences there are with it. Anyways... expecting a my new iMac ... this week... hopefully!

Gizmodo had an interesting article about iPhone USB problems with the P55 chipset and speculated if the problem might be holding up shipment of the iMac quads.

Dude! i called apple yesterday complaining that it IS november and that I deserve to know when to expect my machine and i ALSO was given free 2-3 day shipping just for saying i was sick of not knowing.
OK, I just got the "prepared for shipment" automated message too but when I spoke with the very nice operator, he didn't have any other info other than November. He said he hoped it would be sooner rather than later but didn't have any info and said to just keep checking the order status page.
Anyone know if the automated recording is a brand new development or was it doing that a few days ago?

I also just called 1-800-my-Apple and the automated system said my order was prepared for shipment. However, when I went on to speak to an actual person, she told me the computer still stated "November shipping" and that the misunderstanding could be explained by other items on the same order. She also said she had no idea when the quad cores would ship. The only other "item" on my order was Applecare and that doesn't ship at all. So now, I'm just plain confused. On the bright side, it is now about 7:25AM Tuesday, Nov. 3 in Hong Kong.

I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that I actually dreamt about my iMac being delivered. Well, sort of. What I got in the mail was an "iMac Starter Kit" that contained the stand, power cord, keyboard and mouse...
Ugh. Haha. This iMac is holding me up in that it's going to be a big part of my basement reno. I'd like to actually try watching a bunch of TV on it (Slingbox style) before I decide if I can get rid of my TV or not.

This has been discussed at lengths before. He never shows the specs on the box. And the screen specs can be easily changed. It is not legit.

Everything shows that Apple just wanted to release the new products before the windows 7 release day (22nd of october) and in reality they were not ready to manage so many orders and fix potential problems of the new imacs....!
So now they are running in a race to release the new imacs with 10.6.2 that may fix some problems as lagging flash player.......and deal with all the "fanatic"
customers before christmas.......!

Well, the rumblings sound more positive. I'm hoping after midnight or tomorrow, our status will say 'something'.
Have you seen this guys other videos? It's like he owns every apple product EVER. he has a ****ing iMac as a NIGHTSTAND. I'm sure he could give 2 ***** about faking all this.
