But think about how happy everyone would be if Apple didn't update the status and all of a sudden new iMacs show up at our doors tomorrow.![]()
ordered my i7 on october 22nd. can't freakin' wait. does anyone want to bide the time by telling me how the jump from my powerbook g4 15" to a new 27" quad is going to be?
So who else bought their quad-core iMac to power their Stargate?
I ordered an i7 iMac little over three hours ago from the UK store. Confirmation email said it'll be shipped on Nov 30th for delivery on/before December 7th. Doing the sums however, at some stage when I ordered it said "ships: 2-4 weeks", November 30th being 4 weeks today. Looking at other people's delivery estimates seems to match the 4 weeks from day of order.
So really it tells me/you nothing, other than Apple are playing it safe, so here's hoping they ship this week.

i just called apple and got a weird automated message saying my i7 has been "prepared for shipment" which is contrary to what the order status page says. When it prompted me if i wanted more info, i was sent to a real person who told me that at the earliest, i could expect to know an exact ship date later this week.
i think people are jumping the gun thinking they'll be getting their iMacs this week... i would imagine that apple would need a little more time to organize their order statuses if we were all getting them this week and if we were, they'd tell us. although, that could be wishful thinking![]()
Called 1-800-MY-APPLE and got the same message that my i7 is prepared for shipment even though the order status online says differently.
I just called too and received the same message from the automated attendent. I had a two part order that I placed on 10/20 for the custom config iMac and the New Remote. Stated the the iMac was prepared for shipment and that the New Remote was shipped. I actually received the New Remote today.
BTW - the new Remote as trivial as it is; is actually nice. I love the way that Apple packages their products. Remote came in a nice hard plastic shell. I'm wondering if Apple is going to be introducing TVs someday? Maybe for another post but looking at the new remote compared to the older white one. This one is longer not sure what technology differences there are with it. Anyways... expecting a my new iMac ... this week... hopefully!![]()
Who's going to poop their pants if they ship tomorrow?
I called Apple (again ) today and the rep told me they are gonna ship the quads this week an by the same time gave me free express shipping! (2-3 days) . With so many poeples giving different shipping dates it is hard to be sure which one is the good one!! Ill stick with the nov 3rd date and pray to recieve it by friday ( yes im optimistic). This is what i had to say and will be refreshing this page at least a hundred times today and see other speculations on THE shipping date.
Sorry for my english
The two 27" dont have the same video card!
The only other "item" on my order was Applecare and that doesn't ship at all.

This has been discussed at lengths before. He never shows the specs on the box. And the screen specs can be easily changed. It is not legit.
