Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

Woah! Shipped Friday, Arrived TODAY!

That was pretty surpising. Fortunately my wife was still home to sign for it and drag it into the house. Overall, the computer arrived six days late compared to the original scheduled arrivale date.

I'm hoping there really is a fix. Hopefully the three weeks is just Apple giving themselves some breathing room. This memo leaked around the same time iMac orders were being delayed for around three weeks. It looks like a lot of them are shipping faster than that. That is, maybe the "three weeks" is another, related example of Apple quoting a worst-case timeframe so they don't blow the date.

I guess I'll find out tonight for my individual case.

how do you guys know which week imac you're gonna get when you dont even have it yet? does it tell you?
and well done to those who just received theirs.. do let us know how it goes and if you get or not that yellow tint

You can find it on your invoice... The invoice shows a serial number of the Imac (not your order number or anything), the 4th and 5th character of that number is the week (mine is W8005... so week 5)

And just had a change in my delivery report:
Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 04 Feb 2010

Let's see if it arrives the 4th ;) (so that's thursday, that's a good day, i'm working from home on tuesday and thursday ;))
 
When you get your iMacs, please post the order date. the final shipping dates, the manufacturing week and the working condition of it. if you guys are posting unboxing videos on you tube please copy paste a link. Congrats to everyone!:):):):D

Anyone here who ordered on Jan 27th?
 
Mine arrived this morning.

Everything looks good except for a dead pixel in the middle of the screen.. Couldn't it have been anywhere else but the middle....? :mad:

Same here ordered on the 27th ship date is the 18th. Did you get expedited shipping.


I ordered the iMac 27 inch i7 on Jan 27th.:)

Ships in Feb 18
Delivers Feb 23

4GB of Ram (Going to upgrade it to 6GB or 8GB total)

Let me know when you get your invoice and tell me what week it is and what time did you place your order. I also got expedited shipping.
Did you order the i5 or the i7?

I'm uploading all my data from TimeMachine.
As of first impression the screen is nice although I noticed a warmer color on the bottom, just a little over the Dock, like a darker white shadow. Something I've seen on the majority of the new iMacs at the Apple store too. Yellow tinge? Maybe, but more ivory than yellow and not that visible as of now.
It's a week 5 machine.
I'm not into photography so I'm not bothered at all, I'll be waiting for the backup to be restored and I'll post more.

I've noticed it is very difficult to notice the yellow tinge at the apple store. The bright lights really keep you from noticing any difference. Did you turn your lights off and dimmed the screen a little? Could you take a picture for us?

Anyhow, congrats!! if the yellow is only over the dock then it isn't so bad. I've had screens that covered 2/3s in the yellow.

I guess that's good. Mine looked worse in photos. I did take them in a dark room to avoid the influence of other lights. I also took them from across the room to minimize differences in view angle across the screen.

My best advice to you is use it for a couple days and see if it's bothering you in any way. If so, you've got to get it replaced or repaired.

edit: just saw the post above. Take a pic with the desktop changed to soid white.
 
Received my week 5 i7/8GB/1TB iMac this morning. No time to power on until this evening.
