Here is mine.
As you see, there is a darker grade of white in the lower half.
Nothing that bothers me making music.

I'll take care of it in the future.
Everything else is PERFECT!!!

Quiet as hell, fast as the beast that I was expecting!

I see it more towards in the middle column than the lower half. What are the specs on this baby?

Actually dude I think its perfectly fine!!!! The brain starts playing games with you when you have read pages and pages of faulty yellow tinged iMacs

Same here ordered on the 27th ship date is the 18th. Did you get expedited shipping.

Let me know when you get your invoice and tell me what week it is and what time did you place your order. I also got expedited shipping.
Did you order the i5 or the i7?

I got regular shipping (i5 with 8gb of ram). Ordered at Jan 27 at 05:41 PM PST

i7 QUAD, only 4GB RAM for now, only 1TB memory, I use a lot of external drives.

The coolest thing is that I bought a quad core but the Activity Monitor shows 8 columns for the virtual extra four!! :D

Am I imagining it? I definitely paid a lot more attention to the issue than I would have without checking this forum. I don't think I would have noticed it without being warned.

I notice a difference in whites only on a totally white page and if I move a smaller white window from the top of the screen to the bottom. I will never need to do it in real life, so I'm not concerned at all.

EDIT: and by the way, because of a 2 weeks delay I also paid this baby at the price of an i5 because of Apple's great customer support , and I'm very happy.

Lucky you!!!! When did you place your order and what was your original ship date. 8 cores for the price of of 4, sounds like a lottery to me. do you see a difference in how fast it is. Any sort of HD noise?

haha I'm already getting crap from PC people about how much cheaper I could have built my own

What do you guys think about this? Are they halting the production now or did they already restart the production and for this reason you all have started getting your iMacs?????

Hardmac reports that Apple has halted production of 27-inch iMac models pending a fix for several display issues that have been affecting the machines.

According to one of our sources, the company completely stopped the iMac 27" assembling lines, the production will not resume before Apple has finally found a reliable and definitive fix for the remaining past (flickering and flashing display) and new issues (yellowish panel and flickering display) affecting those models.
In mid-December, shipping lead times for the 27-inch models slipped to two weeks amid complaints of flickering screens amid other issues with the machines. Apple quickly offered a firmware update designed to address the issue, although users have continued to report similar problems even after applying the update. While reports have suggested that Apple is working on a second fix for the flickering screen, more recent reports of yellowish screens have surfaced, with an internal Apple service memo indicating that the company is aware of the situation.

While shipping times for the 27-inch models did improve to one week around the holidays, they slipped back to a three-week margin earlier this month, with speculation centering around continued display issues as a cause for the delays, although Apple has indicated that it has simply had trouble keeping up with tremendous demand for its iMac line.

MacRumors has received a number of reports from readers who have seen their 27-inch iMac orders delayed in recent weeks, although we did receive a report yesterday of several orders that had been delayed until mid-February for which Apple had just issued shipping confirmations, suggesting that production may already be getting back on track?

I placed the order on 12/30 so it took a month to get here. That explains the additional discount from Apple.
The HD is very quiet and everything else seems to be working great.
It's surprisingly fast, even though I still have to play with it. For now I'm restoring all the apps I had on the previous one.
It's really a great machine.

so ... after reading all weekend about people having their i7 iMacs shipped and me not have mine i got lil angry at apple.

you see i ordered mine on dec 30th and still hasn't shipped .. i got 1 delay email then 2nd delay email

so this morning i called apple and was like what is going on, it is not fair i've been waiting since dec 30th for this unit and today is first of feb, is this thing ever gonna come to me or what.

so the lady on the phone was somewhat nice but she transferred me to some guy who was no help and he transferred me to some one else. Finally after 1 hour on the phone being passed around i got a good person who actually can do something.

She said my computer will be shipped today, and she gave me money my machine.

The total for

2.8GHZ QUAD-CORE INTEL CORE I7
8GB 1066MHZ DDR3 SDRAM - 4X2GB
1TB SERIAL ATA DRIVE
ATI RADEON HD 4850 512MB
8X DOUBLE-LAYER SUPERDRIVE
APPLE MAGIC MOUSE-AM
WL KYBD & USER'S GUIDE
COUNTRY KIT,IMAC 27-INCH

came out to be $2,269.00 Canadian witch is like savings of $270 plus expedited shipping ...

i hope my unit comes error free cuz that is a good price

It says Ships: Feb 18
Delivers: Feb 23
I live in Florida (if that makes any difference)

Yeah mine says the same thing. Now I have to actually see if my shipping is faster or is that shipping charge just bs because guess what I live in Gainesville Florida so same state.

I just got mine (2 days early!) and I think it has a tinge. Its a week 05. Whatever, as long as it's not flickering, I'll keep it and sort out the screen later. It's still the most pants wettingly great screen I've laid eyes on.

on the way - now stuck in AK?

My i7 is on its way - after getting a delay notification on 1/27 (the original ship date) that my Jan 12 order was delayed until Feb 11, I got a surprise e-mail on 1/29 (Friday) that my order shipped! I guess these production delays are taken care of -- or they are shipping refurbished machines??

Anyway, should be here this week, although UPS has no expected delivery date on their tracking site?!?!?! It's been in Anchorage, AK since yesterday AM - anyone have any ideas how fast "expedited" service takes to get to Illinois?

i ordered my iMac i5 on january 15th, it went to prepared for shipment yesterday.

quoted ship date of Feb. 1, delivery Feb. 4.

here's hoping i get it on time.

Hey everyone, newbie here. I've been a Windows Admin for years and supported Macs on my networks, but this will be my first owned.

I purchased an i7 8GB RAM, 1TB storage on 1-4-10 from an online reseller. Of course it was supposed to be delivered within 15 days, but got delayed like everyone else. Now it's supposed to be in the resellers hands by Friday and he will ship to me 2nd day UPS. Really hope to have it next week. I'll be using it for my photography business so it'd be nice if I don't have screen problems, but I'll deal with them when it gets here. Looks like everyone is getting them now, so I'll allow a little excitement to creep in.

No word from the reseller yet if there's been any more delays. Keeping fingers crossed.

Rick

3rd iMac arrived but unable to use it

After 2-3 months of 2 replacements on 27in iMac (yellow tinted, flickering, etc). The third one came this morning- the package was trashed & had holes in it. iMac screen were all scattered.

4th one, here we come. :(

Ya I'm doubting everything is fine seeing that a senior adviser at Applecare, who I spoke to a few times in the past week, said the issues with screens have not been resolved yet. If it was resolved wouldn't he have told me rather than me returning my i5 today?
