Someone could just unbox a C2D, doctor some text and ignore requests about how they got an i5 so early and anything about benchmarking.

It wasn't the waiting time that made me order it was me waiting to sell my MBP, if I wasn't waiting for that I would have ordered on release day.

Last year Apple didn't reduce the price of any computers in the UK (correct me if I'm wrong, I did buy a iPhone speaker dock though).

With student discount I was able to get the iMac and Apple care for £1451 instead of £1735! Im happy with that price, just waiting for it to ship!
 
I don't want to start any false rumors
so take it for what it is....

Been reading the Apple Discussions
Forum and there is a strong indication
from certain retailers and Apple Rep that
the 27" i5 and i7 iMacs will either go out
starting next Monday, November 9th or
just days prior to Monday, November 16th.

All in all, next week sort of looks like
the target week. If not Monday, then
sometime soon after.
 
I just spoke with an Apple rep asking if they were planning on a date for more information. The Apple phone support tech said that there should be more info by the end of the week and that it's surprising that there isn't any more info right now. They also upgraded my shipping to 2-day shipping for free because of the lack of information. I didn't even ask for it! The Apple phone support person was very kind. :eek::cool::D
 
I'm excited to be able to sit back in my office chair now with my i5, when it gets here, instead of the lean forward hunch i have from my macbook!

I also called, asked about the order and
the cost of overnight or two-day shipping
and they upgraded my shipping to 2-day for
no charge.

...of course the Apple rep did not have a
ship date as of yet.

I'm fairly annoyed that I ordered with 2-3 day shipping when I apparently could have gotten this for free :mad:
 
I will be calling shortly after work to try to get the same deal :)

I hope I can get the free bump.
 
i called but they said it was going to be like 30 extra dollars to upgrade the shipping, and it they can't do overnight because of overseas shipping. boo. maybe if i get the 'right' rep i can get the free bump?

I did that too just now, They changed the ship date for me too! Now I am even more excited. Thanks:eek::D

Eagerly waiting on mine too ....
Tho in Australia it appears we just have 1 type of shipping? Couldn't see anything about faster alternatives

What you just posted was what I based
my rumored assumption that iMacs would
be shipping next Monday. This is ongoing
discussion in other forums.

As I said, based on that source next Monday
could be the day. What an Apple retailer
told someone in the Apple discussions forum
was a few days prior to November 16th.

So, again, looking at sometime between
November 9th-16th. Next week could be
interesting.
 
Man, I paid for the 2-3 day shipping too. Sucks that I could have had it for free.

Oh well. In the long run I'm not going to quibble over what was it, $30?
 
Not that I would blame people for
doing so, but I would imagine a few
more phone calls from people expecting
shipping upgrades is going to cause
Apple to pull that plug rather quickly.
