My order was also cancelled, should i worry about it, the AMEX card that i used hasn't been hit with any charges at all and the iMac i ordered was on the 28/10, so today still no charge but order was cancelled and now the order list is showing 2 imacs one underneath the cancelled message and one above. Still shipping: november. Plus it's a education discount order.

Any Ideas?

Yep, mine's cancelled too (Denmark Store).

I ordered on the 20th.

There's still an iMac listed on the order page though... so they cancelled one and added another at the same time?

just called and the rep said that they cancelled the order for the iMac and added a new one is to secure that we are getting the "new" ones. That means they fixed something. I don't know whether that's the issues reported in other threads here or the OS. Maybe even both. ;)

She also said that they now know a bit more and that the iMacs will ship in the last days of November and are likely to arrive in the beginning of December.
I ordered from the german online shop (10/20). So all infos above were given by the german customer support.

Damns! I ordered mine on Oct 28th, made a change on Nov2 for the KB on the iMac. My remote has always been shipping Nov 27th.

Couldn't they tease me with sending my remote early

been teased. new remote is right next to my powerbook. not all that great. :p

also, my bank account has a pending charge for the full amount of the imac. good sign?

Yay, a new one!

I hope that means we're getting the new fixed ones without the slow down problems etc. mentioned on the net.

Ordered on the 29th of Oct, and Apple took the full amount the following day (30th). Cancel button still remains as an option

p.s. I ordered the core i5

Wow!

One can become really confused
in this thread.

Some say their cards have been
charged so their iMac must be on
their way.

Others hear the iMacs are shipping
out in the next week.

Latest rumors point to shortages
(a news link confirming) and expected
ship of late December or January.

All I know is that all these pages
later not one person has the answer
as to when the iMac will ship.

That's okay. Enjoy hangin' with all of you.

Hi!

I'm from Germany, too and I ordered an iMac i5 with standard-configuration on November 1st.

I hope that they fixed problems about screen flickering which a few customers had.
Maybe the slow-down fix is also applied, but I think that are problems which can be solved with software updates.

If you see, every iMac with a built in ATI Radeon HD 4850 is shipped in November.
Even if you configure a 27 inch Dual Core iMac with the Radeon 4850 you'll get a shipping date in November.

Maybe there is in fact a delay, but I don't think, that Apple will calculate shipping dates which they can't realize.

Just keep cool, I think everyone is nervous to get the new iMac. :)

Greets!

with all these delays iMac price will be slashed by $101 for the pre-ordered ones? (i am thinking thanksgiving sale)

lots of retailers will be angry if the delay beyond thanksgiving sale ... it will hurt their profits already economy is NOT doing great.

then again not sure what is the sales numbers for $1999 iMacs (previously $2199)

Well, I think i'll survive for this weekend as i've just got a 'dispatched' email for my Apple remote :D.

This is very strange, only yesterday was my remote scheduled to be delivered on the 3rd of December 2009. In a matter of hours, its already shipped and got all the tracking info for TNT.

I hope the same goes with these iMacs.

My remote just went into prepared for shipment even though it has a Nov 18 ship date. This change occurred today. I ordered 20 oct

Maybe Apple just want to be sure that nobody can complain about delivery.
I think they just opened a big time frame to equal delivery delays of vendors or manufacturing delays.

We should hope that Apple delivers as soon as possible.
Hopefully before 25th, because otherwise I'll go crazy.

Bare in mind - not everyone who's buying an iMac 27" is getting the remote. Plus, when I ordered my remote a few days back... it had a 4-6 week lead time.

However, that delivery has recently been reduced to 1-2 weeks on the online store.

Unfortunately you're right. Not everyone orders a remote.
I think Apple will manufacture as fast as possible to satisfy the international mass of customers who ordered iMacs.

Maybe they will reduce delivery times, too.

But in this case, we only can wait and hope.

It's very hard to not think Apple had already had a huge order for the HD 4850 Graphics cards when they announced the i5/i7 iMacs.

If there's a a shortage on those cards it's for other PC makers most likely due to Apple's order of those cards.

This is simply a problem of huge demand for the 27" i5/i7 iMacs.

I went to 'cancel' just to test it, and I could. I can click the first button to cancel an item on my order, but the next page says I cannot cancel anything on the order.

Boo i checked my account and it still says Nov. for a ship date. I have a feeling it will ship around the 17th.

FYI the new remote is much nicer than the old white plastic ones, I bought it mainly for my apple tv.

So I just got off the phone with an Apple rep about the money being taken from my credit card. I'm from Canada and he said that it ment that the computer was being prepared for shipment but that they were just waiting for the 2-3 day clear time to go through. So I called my credit card company and they said it would clear for Apple by tomorrow. The rep also said to keep checking my status of my order and that it was most likely to change by Mon-Tues. Hopefully this means its being shipped next week.

Invalid information. Apple Reps have no clue what is going on. Call another one and you will get another story.....and for the fun of it call a third and then go out and enjoy yourself.

What do you mean invalid information? That makes no sense. Fact of the matter, my card has been charged, shipment is proceeding. The computer is coming. The end. I dont care when , Im just letting you all know :)

They will not charge your card until it ships. Come back next Friday and let us know if it shipped.... and if your credit card has in fact been charged .....and not just a hold on it for the amount of the charge.

Mine also got cancelled and they added a new one. Glad you guys are experiencing the same as me, stops me being paranoid.
