Waiting for 27" Quad to SHIP thread

Shipping charged for my i7

I swore I was not going to get caught up in the excitement but here I am...

Apple just took the Expedited 2-3 day Shipping Charge of $33 from my CC. I called my CC and it has been charged... not a hold.

I ordered my iMac i7 on Oct 30th. Probably means nothing but I can hope :eek:

really? I find that hard to believe... how do they have the power to move you to the top of the order queue but not have BTO orders delivered to the store?
 
any i7s ship?

If anyone has an i7 ship please let us know, I'm kind of getting used to seeing November ship on my order status page... and it seems like November is the longest month of my life so far! Mine will probably ship when I leave state later this month to visit family for a few days, that'll be my luck!

Tell me about it... ordered my i7 on the 24th and every day it's getting harder and harder. This will be my first "private" Mac... I've been working with Macs for the last 13 years but never had one at home, always just some self-built PC and now that I've got a Canon 5D mkII that old piece of junk is sweating blood and choking with the huge RAW files and I won't even start talking about editing the Full HD raw video files :D I just really, really want PCs to retire from my home, once and for all and never come back!!! :cool:

Holy crap. You're basically doing a lot of things that I'm gonna be using it for. Raw Full HD video editing. Probably going to get a new DSLR as well! I actually haven't ordered it yet. I'm gonna order when they actually start shipping. haha.

The biggest use for the "i7 Beast":cool: will be stitching panoramas in PTGui which is probably the best Pano tool available anywhere for any money and absolutely worth every dollar! But try to load it with 12 x 21 Megapixel images on a 5 year old AMD Sempron PC and you come dangerously close to a critical core meltdown or how it might look like if you could see one and talk about it. Well and being able to finally utilise the 1080i HD video capability of my now one year old camera for the first time... Priceless! :D

That is a fake -- he did not get a quad-core on October 23rd. I'm not knocking you, just letting you know that this has been discussed many times over. If you want to know more, just run a search for additional info.

Can you believe just 3 or 4 days ago this thread hit 1,000 replies? Just a few posts later, I predicted that this thread would hit 2,000 replies and 200,000 views. I think it's pretty certain that we're going to get there!

This has been discussed a LOT of times before. It is most likely a fake. He did not show the configuration on the box. The "About This Mac" details can very easily be edited.

No idea...all I know is that I requested it, I ordered on the 28th, my order number is W656... and my iMac is on my way..Who am I to complain :p

what DSLR do you have?
after the 27" iMac, my next toy will be a DSLR (not until feb tho, but I'm looking from now)

Some apple representatives are also flexible with the price. He was able to get me some good discounts on top of my student discounts. Just a thought next time you order.

do they really? thats annoying. at our local store they wont budge pretty much. we can get either student or teacher discounts but nothing on top of that. might be worth going up in person and seeing what they can do. how much are we talking? $50? $100? free software?
