2000 and still waiting

this is it - i read 2000 entries since I ordered my i7 and i am still forced to read in on my "old" macbook air ;-)

Relatively new to Mac's

I bought my "old" iMac Core Duo, 4 months ago, whilst having a lovely quad-core PC sat on my desk (now doing nothing!!!!).
Part of me thinks I'm crazy ordering the i5.....but my tutors told me I'd have to become a convert at some point (studying for a degree in Graphic Design at Cov Uni).
I was totally converted after a few days of using the iMac. The i5 is surely going to help me with design work, along with my Intuos pad ;-)

Just the waiting is killing meeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! All this checking and speculation...aarrrggghhh!
;)

Order number starts....W913... - Not yet shipped !! (UK)

BTW - BIG thread!

I just have to say...

Man I'm glad I'm not the only freakazoid who's obsessively counting down to her iMac's arrival.

This thread completely owns all.

If I tweeted about this stuff any more, my Twitter followers would kill me. My co-workers are completely uninterested and if I talk about this with my fiance for more than a few minutes, his eyes glaze over.

In other words, thank god for MacRumors!

+1

Only 989 to go.

My prediction..... we hit 3K in 2 days, 8 hours, 36 minutes, and 26 seconds:confused:

Nope.. I have a Mac Pro, which I am selling to a friend, and I am all giddy waiting for it :D

I had originally received an authorization charge on Friday for the amount of the iMac

then yesterday authorization came through for the shipping and the remote

and this morning the remote showed ready to ship and now! TADA!

Who has read the first 2000 posts? I have.

I have read them all, as well as the long thread on the Apple Support forum. I don't know what I am going to do once my iMac ships. I'll definitely post some pics. I guess I'll go back to twitter and see what Rainn Wilson is tweeting about. I haven't even read twitter since I ordered my iMac last month on the 20th.

BTW this thread has surpassed the 2009 Penryn Mac Mini thread and is now the top leader in thread views.

Metropolitan Philadelphia area here and still no change in status with my i7 shipment. I placed the order on the 20th. If you've received notice please state order date, area of delivery and expected delivery date. I'm wondering what the hold up could be with most of us. Is it a regional thing? Start out west and head east?

Yes, there are many that have i5 tracking numbers. The i7's changed to prepared for shipment today.
AWESOME!
that means they should be shipping to retail stores at the same time.

You think they will have some good deals for the quads on black friday?
It would be awesome if they did, but I have a feeling that they won't. Mainly because they are already having issues filling demand. Imagine what an extra $100 off would do hehe

haha One can dream. I am almost willing to pay the extra $420 that I would save with the employee discount just to have it here now. :D

so does anyone actually have a tracking number/delivery date for the i5 or i7 as yet?
or just status changed to "prepared for shipping" ?

"prepared for shipping" means nothing to me. Might as well they leave it at "estimated November". I will only take it seriously once people actually have received tracking numbers. From the iMac leaving the factory somewhere in Asia, to Holland for putting others items together, and finally to the customer, that can take some time.

I love Apple and the iMacs, but to be honest, I am so annoyed that Apple employees knows nothing or simply they do not want to say anything about shipping dates. If we have to pay so much, maybe they should be a bit honest with proper updates on the situation.

That alone can put me off buying a Mac in the future. If there iMacs are not ready, then they should not even put them for sale yet.

You know, I kind of doubt it -- but even if they do, I kind of don't care. I've waited so long (I stupidly waited a week to order but I knew on the 20th what I would be getting), I just want the anticipation to flow into jubilation. Another $100, frankly, unless I can call and get it credited, I don't even care.

I'm picking one up as soon as they hit retail stores simply because I can't wait until Thanks Giving haha
(why wait another 2 weeks to save $100 if I'm going to spend $2000 anyways)
