I had originally received an authorization charge on Friday for the amount of the iMac

then yesterday authorization came through for the shipping and the remote

and this morning the remote showed ready to ship and now! TADA!

Well, that's frustrating. I ordered my iMac (same config, but with 2TB) 1.5 hours before you on the 24th and mine still says "Not Yet Shipped" though I just got invoiced for the shipping costs.

I wish they would tell you which parts were going to make things late when you ordered. I would have totally settled on 1TB to have it by this weekend.

i7 8GB memory, 2TB hard drive, on 10/21 at 3:40 PM PST. My order number is W65367..., and it still says "Not Yet Shipped". :(

My guess is that the 2TB option is what is going to kill a lot of us. Seems later 1TB models are already shipping. That's a big letdown as I would not have ordered 2TB had I known it was going to be the late comer.

Not that they are shooting for this, but, if they get them shipped before the 12th the imacs will be past the 14 day policy, if they go on sale on the 27th for black friday.
I think the 14 day policy starts when its shipped vs when you get it. (not sure)

I'm picking one up as soon as they hit retail stores simply because I can't wait until Thanks Giving haha
(why wait another 2 weeks to save $100 if I'm going to spend $2000 anyways)

haha I got an insider at apple that's why but it's not up on the employee discount site yet due to all the demand. $420 savings might be worth the wait lol the worst part is I've been waiting for these things to come out since late sept lol Sigh

I ordered a 1 TB on the 20th and still have the "Not Yet Shipped" notice on my order status. But I did order 8 GB of RAM rather than the standard 4. :apple:

my god! 11 pages were added to this thread in the 6hrs sleep that i had! that is insane! its great to hear that they are starting shipping!

first person to get theirs and post benchmarks/unboxings wins a really nice prize :D

I love Apple and the iMacs, but to be honest, I am so annoyed that Apple employees knows nothing or simply they do not want to say anything about shipping dates. If we have to pay so much, maybe they should be a bit honest with proper updates on the situation.

That alone can put me off buying a Mac in the future. If there iMacs are not ready, then they should not even put them for sale yet.

100% agree
a premium price for a premium product should be matched with premium service. transparency into a process is the best way to show your end-users that you care and have nothing to hide.

as for "don't announce if it's not ready", well... that was a marketing move. trying to steal thunder from Windows 7. this happens a lot in almost every industry :-(

You know, I kind of doubt it -- but even if they do, I kind of don't care. I've waited so long (I stupidly waited a week to order but I knew on the 20th what I would be getting), I just want the anticipation to flow into jubilation. Another $100, frankly, unless I can call and get it credited, I don't even care.
I feel the exact same way. $100 is not worth the extra wait - especially when I'm stuck using a 2nd gen MacMini that can't even play full-screen YouTube videos :(

Impressive thread. But kind of weird what Apple is doing this time. Only 'november' ****. But okay , it's Apple so they can get away with it.

Ordered ; i7 / 8 GB / 2 TB @ 10/22
Number ; W913..
Country ; The Netherlands.

Still on ' not yet shipped ' ..

Metropolitan Philadelphia area here and still no change in status with my i7 shipment. I placed the order on the 20th. If you've received notice please state order date, area of delivery and expected delivery date. I'm wondering what the hold up could be with most of us. Is it a regional thing? Start out west and head east?

I like you ordered mine on the 20th. I live in Colorado and ordered it over the phone through their business sales. i7, 4gb RAM, 2TB HD with num KB. Got noticed this AM it was shipping and Fedex shows it is in transit from Shanghai with delivery date of Nov 13th.

There have been i7's with 2TB that have gone to "Prepared for Shipment", so take heart. :)

Well then I don't understand how the guy above ordered at 12:30PM on 10/24 and is Prepared for Shipment. His is 8GB of RAM as well.

Maybe Apple doesn't actually have a system, and just wings it.

Yes, I'm thinking its happening out west and heading east like the plague. lol. Nothings changed with my shipment status. :(

Can anyone see any details from TNT about their shippings yet? It's been almost 7 hours since my shipping confirmation and TNT tracking still does not work for me.

I am really looking forward to some more information ;) !

$420 is a lot of dough (that's almost a MacMini ;) )
I would wait 2 weeks for a guaranteed $420, but not for the speculation of $100

My i7/16GB/2TB and remote are now both in the "Prepared for Shipment" category, with the remote now saying Nov. 25 for both shipment and delivery date (odd...) and the i7 still just saying November.

Guaranteed, three years from now you will be glad you had the 2TB, and the frustrating wait will be forgotten...

Not going to happen.....the new systems are way too new for Apple to put a sale on them.....

It wouldn't make any sense for them to slap a sale price on something that people are willing to pay full price for (and then cry and moan about shipping...like me)

The i5 is the "stock" chip for the quad core version of iMacs. If you want the i7, it is a BTO to custom "upgrade." Shouldn't be that difficult to understand

Thank you very much for the info! I was just a little bit confused but got the point i5 and i7 are quad cores!

I've ordered the i7 a couple of days ago 11/02 with 8GB / 1TB.

I could just see it with my luck my i7 I ordered shows up on my desk as a C2D. Oye!

Well looking forward to getting on with more serious and pressing issues that are going to be just as frustrating ... this wait is a welcome entry into the holiday season.

I ordered at Oct, 23rd,

the iMac i7, 8gb RAM, 1TB, including the wired keyboard plus the remote

Location: Holland, Europe,

So guess we'll hopefully receive it next week.

BTW, when are y'all in North America celebrating Thanksgiving?

maybe the Native Americans should do the Mac Rain Dance for those who also haven't seen any changes. lol.

Peace out
