Someone could start a poll thread, with the question being:

Where are you at in the Kubler-Ross stages of grief over the loss of the ability to buy a powerful Macintosh computer?
1) Denial - "Can there be any doubt that the main content of the Timmy/Trump meeting was that Tim needed to Make Apple Great Again by re-introducing a GREAT MacX, which would sell bigly."
2) Anger - "I have a massive wad of cash just waiting to send to Apple, but they refuse to produce a machine that is a worthy trade for my cash. Are there no capitalist pigs at Apple willing to take my money? Ahhhh!"
3) Bargaining - "Even if they updated their current crappy offering with slight specs bumps, at least it would be SOMETHING I could spend my hard earned money on."
4) Depression - This is cyclical, but most severe after every press release for the last 1200 days without an update. Most of us cope by buying another stick of RAM for our 5,1 that we're babying along.
5) Acceptance - Did anyone notice that there was no outcry of frustration after nothing was announced last week when they came out with tweaks to the iPad lineup?

Acceptance- I'm moving to Linux for my next computer. I'm not sure about the distribution, but probably Debian or a derivative of it. I'm trying it out on an old PC. I started with Ubuntu, moved to Ubuntu Gnome, and now I'm trying Debian. My only complaint with Debian is that Clementine can't play my ALAC files, while Rythmbox plays them without issue.

Probably just a Windows PC and put Linux on another drive for development.

I really miss the apple of the early 2000s to 2009 when you would get excited for their hardware releases. The Mac is what makes Apple what it is (well what Apple was), at least to me.

Yeah, that was back when they cared about power users.

Didnt atlantis sink? Just the like the likelihood that a new mac pro will come
Yes it was rumored to have sunk into the ocean. Of course, it has yet to be proven it existed and as such, has never been found. I figure Tim has a painting of it in his office as a reminder of how projects should work at Apple.

Welcome to Linux, where some programs work and some don't and you have no idea why!

And there are all kinds of helpful guides on the web - but they're usually for a previous version and everything changed in the current version so they're of no use.

To solve the age-old mystery, the team analyzed satellite imagery of a suspected submerged city just north of Cadiz, Spain. There, buried in the vast marshlands of the Dona Ana Park, they believe that they pinpointed the ancient, multiringed dominion known as Atlantis.

The team of archaeologists and geologists in 2009 and 2010 used a combination of deep-ground radar, digital mapping and underwater technology to survey the site.

Someday in the not too near future some archeologist will find the Spaceship building under the ocean.

Why would you think that?

A 50m rise in sea level would put the campus under water. And the GOP seems set on making that happen.

There is no science to support 50m either. Not much if any to support 50 inches. The Pacific Ocean is bigger and deeper than the other ones. Oracle's Amusement Park campus, Google, and Facebook are far more at risk than Apple.

Um, you realize, I hope, that all the oceans are connected? And that sea levels will rise uniformly regardless of how big and deep one might be? (sorry if I missed the sarcasm)

My experience exactly. Still, Linux is a godsend for powerusers. I just prefer Macs because I have to do less tune-ups.

Water is a compressible fluid. That is a science fact. Normal human interaction with water typically treats it as an incompressible fluid, but it is. Temperature also impacts density.

Look at the graphs here. Take a look at the first graph and the caption below.

http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warmin...a-level-rise-global-warming.html#.WOHQMLvyuqk

The smaller, shallower seas are going to see different problems then the bigger, deeper bodies of water. The pressure and thermal characteristics are going to be different.

So yes geology does make a difference. The properties of the fluid do make a difference. Cupertino is about 100-150 ft above seal level. (as move over to where Interstate 280 goes down the peninsula you are go up the the hills of the pennisula.). 40-50 inches isn't going to make a difference.
