Bugger. Yeah i also read somewhere that you can do a PRAM reset or something and it helps, but general concensus is that its a bad run related to hardware. Seems to affect a batch of people who got them within a week of release or so.. Are they sending you a replacement straight away or do you have to send yours back first?

I'm going to try some things out over the weekend, and if they don't work, call on Monday. I'll be asking to keep it until the replacement is sent, as this is my only PC and I need it for work.

Cool i hope it all works out, in another forum they were saying that they got to keep theirs until the replacement arrived but apple put a holding charge on their credit card in case it didnt get sent back...

is it otherwise pretty usable? i should really look at the youtubes of the problem they are having

Very useable - the problem stops after a while (about 20min or so). A number of people have reported that the issue doesn't exist within Windows 7 installed on the same hardware, leading them to believe it is a Mac driver/firmware issue, not hardware.

I'm not satisfied with the monitor LED light bleeding in the top right tho, so this might be a good opportunity to replace it.

How can this be fair. Ordered a full 2 weeks after me, got it shipped and DELIVERED before they even look at preparing mine. The is bulls#$t

Imagine after this long wait, full of dissapointments, anger, frustration when i woke up to check my status. Its been a long time coming, but im happy to announce to the world that after 22 days from ordering my i5 that Apple has finally changed my status to: well it hasnt changed it, its still Not Yet Shipped ......

Brisbaneguy - is yours the same?

Just an obscure question, but did the mouse and keyboard come with batteries ready to go, and what size/brand are they? im guessing AAA?

27 i7 fast.... quiet... .and it rocks!

Got mine on Monday and finally have got the chance to test it last night. Very fast and responsive... hardly can feel any lag time in loading and processing minimum 8mb size per photo in Aperture.

Enjoy your new machine for those who will be getting it.

Nick :) :apple:

Expected delivery is on 26/11/2009, but it could be much earlier... ;)

Did a completely fresh install of everything today. Much snappier on boot up, and flicker issue *touchwood* has gone. Strange enough it didn't occur today when I'd turned it on for a few hours before the reinstall of stuff.

Hope you guys that are 'late' on delivery get yours soon!

Nope my status is still "not yet shipped" at 1854hrs adelaide time.
It looks they are shipping them to everyone apart from us who pre-ordered.

How can they say the next shipment is the 24/25th when they are obviously lying...? Are they that naive to think that we will not find out?

BrisbaneDude, did yours change??

See what happons by the 25th i suppose...

Excellent, hopefully this fixes it and it was just some issue with how they flash loaded the hard-drive. Someone else also mentioned something about their unit being hot or cold when they received it so the let it get to room temperature before turning it on..

yep hopefully we get some good news this week.

Nextbyte (Reseller) i5 Quads - Arriving this week.

Hi everyone,

Just got off the phone.
They are definitely receiving the i5 Quads this week.

But unfortunately, the i7's won't be available for another
"10 FULL BUSINESS DAYS"

So most probably second week of December. (Week beginning 7th Dec)

SO another full weekend and no change here. I tell ya what they are cutting it fine if my gear is going to ship on the 24th. Personally I have zero faith left in the order system, and really am not expecting it to make the 24th flight. If I was a betting man, I would almost have to slap down a pineapple ($50 for all you overseas people) and bet against my order making the 24th flight.

Mind you I suppose it was the weekend, I am not sure if the Chinese filling these orders are working 7 days a week, I suspect they do. SO maybe today will be my lucky day.

:|

OMG OMG OMG OMG!

got up and checkde my email today.

ITS bEEN SHIPPED!!

they had knocked the delivery date back to 8th Dec but now it will be here in 2-5 business days, too bad im away till friday! argh!
