I cannot believe how IGNORANT the DJ corporate buyers are and how DECEIVING Apple is being to them.

Surely by now with all the calls to the stores by irate customers DJ's buyers would have looked into the fact that everyone else who is ordering online is getting their orders within a week, yet we are waiting for over a month. Are they really that naive to believe everything Apple tells them? How can apple treat their resellers like this? I know the answer is to bully them out of the scene...

Not only am i calling DJs everyday looking for answers, i am cutting my DJ's card up once this purchase is finalised. It is not the sales guys fault on the floor, it is bureaucracy gone bananas.

If only i could get a direct number to the buyers.. I didnt hear back from Apple or DJ's today as promised, i hope they have realised there is a problem and they will try and fix it..

All the people who have orders through DJ's / Myers / JB / DSE / HN - keep hounding the store for answers, every day if you can.. we need to get this message through to the buyers..

Mate I am just as annoyed as you are but I do not think you can blame DJ's for it and cut up there card. This is happening with the other resellers as well and DJ's are probably limited to what they can do (and information they can release) to the agreements that are in place with Apple. I think the terms are very much in Apples faviour and if any thing shoud be cut up it is a Apple product.

The company screwing us is Apple don't forget that.

good point, thanks for the realignment :)

It just frustrates me when Apple tells me that it is something that DJ's buyers needs to deal with the apple Reseller partner channel, and neither is accessible to me to give information.

It would be reassuring to hear from DJ's buyers to hear that they are doing what they can, or acknowledge that they are being constrained by apple, but at this point in time i dont think that the DJ's buyers are aware that the machines are being shipped to online customers, and still think that no machines are being shipped, and that they are still at the top of the list for a delivery.

A simple phone call or email with a estimated shipping date would be nice too.

you know whats wierd...

when you go to open System Prefs->Sharing and it gives you this error.

"You can’t open Sharing preferences because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac."

how odd. i have yet to find anybody else with this error.

farrrrrk that sounds bad.

sure does. damm*t, i was looking forward to getting it too. i wonder what the "damage" was. either it was smashed during transit/loading/off loading, someone stole it or Apple hijacked it to consign to someone else. its any body's guess

*****, mate - that is no good! My order hasn't been effected and has moved on from Sydney to Melbourne. Hoping to have it in my hands tomorrow.

Get a refund!

Unless they have any solid information about delivery dates, which I doubt.
And from what I have read about your circumstance, you ordered near the same time I originally ordered through reseller (1st Nov).
I'm sure you would qualify as a special case and they would allow it.

Go hard! (and good luck)

I can't believe it, I ordered on Friday last week (27th) and I just checked the order progress expecting it to say "Not Yet Shipped" and now it says "Prepared for Shipment"!!
Now, that is fast!

That is exciting, I ordered an i7 just after midnight on Black Friday also. The only change was that I've asked for the wired keyboard with the numeric pad. Hopefully that shouldn't delay the shipping much?! Would be great to see mine as "Prepared for Shipment" too!!! At this stage, still not shipped with ship date of 10/12 and delivery for 16/12.

Received mine Monday (30 November) screen is fantastic. Only one problem. My wireless wont work in my iMac. Officially signing off now. Have a nicentine and will be praying for all those still waiting. :)

im on mine now.. WOW its incredible

I got mine today and played wow for about 10 hrs,
everything works just fine, but the temperature of the back of machine is quite high,
I can't put my hand on it for more than 5 seconds:(
does it happen to you, and is it normal:confused:

BAHAHAHA ahh you made me LOL!

i said "wow IT'S incredible" :p im not one of them WoW junkies hahaha sorry.

yup mine gets boiling at the back too, right up the top. same with my 2007 iMac, its meant to do that. if you feel further down the bottom its hardly even hot, more of a warm heat. its all perfectly normal haha so dont worry :)

The amazing thing is Apple is flat out LYING to these resellers saying to them "shortage of graphics cards" or "shortage of CPUS" or "No macs have shipped to Australia yet" despite literally hundreds of Aussies ordering from the online store and receiving it on their desks within 7-10 days of ordering!

Yet when I tried to tell Myer that people are getting them instantly from the online store they refused to believe me!!

Maybe we should collate all the online posts reporting quick turnarounds and send them as a PDF to the blinded DJ/Myer idiots so they can see that Apple is playing them for a fool!

DRONUS you seem like the best man for the task given your experience thus far. Would you be prepared to do that?

Yep id have no problems doing this.. But the difficult thing to do is to findout who to actually send it to who can do something about it..

I am planning to meet the DJ Apple rep tommorow at marion, and show him this, and other threads online which show people in australia recieving the i7 and i5 imac. I am trying to get the DJ's Marion sales manager there aswell so that the apple rep can explain in person to their customer what they are doing.

Maybe my forced waiting period will be a blessing in suprise and everything will be sorted out by the time they make mine... maybe...

Good Luck.
For the people who ordered from DJ or Myer find out how to do the replacement through the reseller just in case you do not have the good luck.

I have to agree with your sentiments..
I ordered my qc i7 from Myers on 28 oct and still no word of when I'll get it.
I spoke to their rep on friday saying that others who ordered after me from the on-line store were or had received their machines and could he expidite the matter with Apple. He indicated that he had already spoken to their buyer in Melb. who still had no news of when orders would be filled and also disputed
my assertion that Apple were filling on-line orders before the re-sellers. He went so far as to say he disputed the facts that i7 machines had been delivered!!!

Ordered 28 Oct
STILL WAITING

I can assure you sir, that both i5's and i7's are most certainly being delivered. I know because I have 1 of each, and if he tells you that they are not being delivered, tell him he is a fat c*nt, and to pull his head out of his arse. These people have got to stop f*cking you all around. This is amazing.

Mate this is an error, and you need to fix it up. First thing I would try is to repair the disk permissions. Do you know how to do this?
If that doesn't fix it, I would reinstall the system, before you get it filled up with all your apps / data. Immediately after the re-install do a permissions repair. The sharing pane should work, I know because I have mine turned on.

Het mate cograts. How is it? Lovin it?
lovin it to death! beautiful screen. very quiet and fast (installed win7 onto it via parallels 5 and its amazing!). i have two dead pixels but there isnt much i can do about that, i will try to massage the pixels out with a program that i have and see how that goes. i have the WD FALS 1TB HDD, its very quiet and i cant hear the vibration/whine noise that people are complaining about.

haha yea, i know how to do it. the only error i got was a common one to do with Remote Desktop. it didnt fix it, so i will reinstall (archive and install).

no other complaints though :D

thanks mate

My iMac is Shipped! Yahoooo!

What can I say, my iMac shipped this morning (ordered on 27th Nov Black Friday sale).
So preparation for shipment took 4 days.
And the ETA went from 17th, down to 7th Dec!!! (Next Monday delivery)

It is so surreal to see a TNT tracking number.
I had to close and re-open the the order page, just in case I was hallucinating.

It makes me laugh, because when I went through the ordeal of getting a refund (and it was an ordeal!!) the reseller kept on saying how I was "on top" of the list and that I would be the first person to receive the i7.
"Are you sure you want to jeopardize all the waiting you've gone through?"....

I know the resellers are having a hard time at the moment.
They obviously have no real information, but of course they don't want to lose a sale either.
So what do they say to a prospecting buyer?
The truth?
"We've got no idea when the iMacs are going to be available, it could be the end of December, early January"

I doubt it.

OMG, its arrived! I was just finishing mowing the front nature strip when I see a TNT truck coming up the road!

I see him pick the box up after it appears to have fallen face down inside the truck :)eek: please no damage...) and I lift it down myself...

Will let you know shortly if it has any problems... :)
