I have asked DJ's to explain why their Apple Rep cannot secure them stock while online orders and instore stock flow freely. There appears to not be a "world wide shortage" as suggested, its only for the AU retail partners that they still constrain stock.
Apart from pushing their apple reps harder and communicating with their customers better there doesnt seem to be much more that DJ's can do. Im guessing JB's, myers are in the same boat.
The Apple reseller arm needs to get stock moving. I have seen in other threads that Amazon and bestbuy orders are shipping, they are part of the US reseller partners.
My goal at the moment is to bring awareness that there appears to not be a parts shortage, demand is such that online orders are shipping withing 48 hours and it is just the retail partners that are being held back for no logical (read: fair) reason. Surely someone can change this and get stock moving.
The hard part is identifying the stakeholder who can do something about it. Apple have alot to answer for not shipping these orders, for the small amount of margin they would lose by sending stock to the resellers they would gain many fold in repeat business and recommendations from customers for both resellers and online shopping.
Let us know when you get a response, ill check with my counsel tonight who is well versed in the TPA..
Dronus, it's not just AU resellers, I've read of people in Canada and possibly netherlands with the exact same problem, so it's likely all resellers, though the fact that Amazon and the like are able to get stock doesn't surprise me.

I've been ringing TNT and Apple daily and they're starting to take me more seriously.
The good news is, my shipment isn't lost, but delayed. (well if it isn't lost, then blo#dy well send it)

It also the case in Belgium. We don't have any Apple stores but big Apple Premium Resellers like Lab9 or the switch stores still didn't receive any quad cores versions.
The situation here is the same. You have people that ordered it the next day when they announced at their apple premium dealer and still don't have it. You have people ordering it online at the apple store and they received it the next week... .
