Has anyone noticed the time to "Push and hold crown" to exit water lock or unlock sleep focus is much shorter now? I feel like it used to be about 2 seconds. Now it's only about 1 second. Just noticed this in beta 4, but maybe it was like this prior. I think I prefer the shorter time.
Same for me?

Has anyone noticed that watchOS 10 Beta 3 takes awhile, up to a KM, to detect your heart rate when running?

What kind of issues/problems/things not yet fully working are you all seeing in beta 4?
Any new features/tweaks in beta 4?

Seems to me that Apple is adjusting the auto night mode of the Ultra with every new beta. Compared to beta 3, it looks like night mode is activated in dimmed light settings where it wasn’t activating before. Maybe they’ve put the threshold a bit higher.

Why not read this thread for yourself and find out?

But, very few on all counts.
I have. Every page. I've read about the issues in beta 1, 2, and 3. Was asking specific questions about b4 as there were very few comments about it so far.

Yes, it is much faster. We will see if it stays that way or they revert back.

Well the Clockface respring loop occurred again today, exactly 5pm using the Nike Hybrid digital watch face on my Ultra. This was the same combo and time yesterday it occurred. Must be a bug with that combination of time and face.

My S8 seems to be stuck in an installing loop. Every time I go off and on the software update page it alternates between ‘Watch is up to date’ and the software update installing page.

What’s the build number for WatchOS 10 Beta 4 just so I can crosscheck it and see if it actually has updated or not.

Build number showing on my watch is 10.0 (21R5320i)

21R5320i is the beta 4 build

Me too. The eventual update left me with a very slow rearranged set of face icons and a rapid battery usage.

So, I thought I had an issue with my first beta (Beta 4)...

Put my watch on the charger and it only charged to 80%

Kept putting it back on the charger thinking either the charger or the watch was at fault.

Finally, a message pops up on the watch about a new optimization setting that presets the capacity charge.

I could certainly override it and charge my phone to 100% but it begs the question...

I got an Ultra for more battery life and now Apple is recommending I only charge it to 80%?

The Ultra always used charging optimization (the 80% thing) even under WatchOS 9. You probably never noticed.

Well I did notice when fully charged, the watch read 100% battery

Now it goes no higher than 80% with a new message about optimization.

So which is it? Am I still getting 100% battery charge or is it now down to 80%? I can't imagine I'll be the only person confused by this change.

Okay, so doing a little searching I found this great article here on MacRumors

Apparently, the watch optimization is smart enough to learn your usage habits and create an acceptable level of charge for your watch based on what it thinks you will need.

So, in my case, 80% will not always be consistent based on my daily usage pattern.

For the moment, I'll let my watch do its thing automatically as I normally don't use 80% battery before charging on a regular basis.

Looks like you found the answer. Yes, your Ultra will charge to 100%, just not every time, by design.

I was not so sure I liked this feature when I first got my Ultra either. Once I figured out you just tap the battery circle when on the charger and select charge to full, it became a nightly routine. I have gotten over it and I don’t think my watch has seen over 80% in months. I have not seen a change on how this feature works from os9 to 10 though. What is the change they made in os10?

From reading that article I referenced, Apple rolled this out slowly. So some people, like yourself, got the optimization incorporated into Watch OS 9.

I didn't see this feature incorporated until I upgraded to Watch OS 10.

Having a new development on this beta that I hadn’t seen before; want to canvas here before I report: getting notifications (haptic), but no notification showing on the watch - apps like Gmail, Okta Verify, etc. Matter of fact, even consistent message notifications seem to be an issue in this build for me. No settings have changed (on my part; none I can see systemwide).

(have tested with phone, iPad, and Mac off to ensure there are no Handoff conflicts)
