Nice! Has anything changed on 11.1? I am holding off as I have the Black Ultra 2 coming on Friday.
Haven't really had a chance to explore.

Bad news, went to the Apple Store to verify they could load 18.1 on the new phone before I began the restore. Negative. "We don't have betas or load betas, we never have". What I will have to do in store is set up the new phone as a new device, enroll in beta, load 18.1, wipe it clean and then do the transfer data from old phone or restore from back up thing. I am going to be there a long time. Since I have to turn my old phone in that day, I can't even walk out and return my old phone later.

I am thinking of blowing off delivery of my new phone as I will be getting on a plane that day. What a PIA.

Sorry, not the thread for this.

That doesn't sound right. I feel like I have done this in the Apple Store before. I had to do it myself, didn't have them help me, but I just downloaded the beta to the new phone when it asked if I wanted to back up from a restore, and then it said I needed to update the phone to do that. No issues other than it taking forever. Same for the watch. Watch just took a lot longer

Me too. I told them exactly that and they said it must have been a situation where the old phone was running a newer official (not beta) version. I know I have walked in there with betas before and did the same thing you are saying.

The Apple store geniuses aren't what they used to be. There was literally three people who had no clue what I was asking who passed me on to someone else and eventually I got the answer I posted.

I'm posting this here, even though I'm using the release version of 11 on my AWU 1. My primary face is Infograph and the sub-dial compilations for Timer, and Apple's weather temperature and wind speed keep disappearing. If I swipe to modular where I have those loaded, it's fine, and they come back into Infograph when I swipe back, but they randomly disappear again.

hello everyone...i am waiting the ultra 2 next days and i want to ask, with watchos11 (beta or not) is auto sleep new feauture or i have to put the watch on sleep focus to record my sleep? also native app is good or i will need the autosleep app?

watchOS 11 automatically records sleep now, including naps, so there’s no longer any need for AutoSleep unless you just like the app.

Some Apple Geniuses are not nice enough to take care of iPhones and other Apple devices that run betas. If I were to be a Genius at an Apple Store I would still proceed with restoring the device and reinstalling 18.1. Y’all I also seen that if you contact AppleCare through the chat 💬 they will make you downgrade iOS beta on your iPhone if you happen to run into issues, and that is unfair because you will render your Apple Watch useless while it is running 11.1 beta and the iPhone is back on iOS 17.7.

It is a hidden new feature, man. Your Apple Watch ⌚️ does not need to turn on any of these things; i tested it out by sleeping in and it worked. I’m going to try it out tonight by going to bed earlier than expected on the posted time in the Health app and see if it catches it as well.

Is this your first Apple Watch ⌚️ ?

The good news is that Apple is building in an 18.1 upgrade into the setup process if needed (I will). I found this out yesterday. I am tempted to go back to the store to enlighten the technical genius constructively. Three geniuses passed me onto this guy because they had no clue. One "genius" said, "I am running 18.1, does that mean I will have issues?".

Anyway, I got my answer and it is a good one. Sorry to muck up my thread here with OT. Carry on.

Alrighty, 👍 I just left a word about how geniuses at the Apple Store can be like sometimes, and how I would see the ethics behind them.

How’s the watchOS 11.1 beta going on for your Apple Watch Ultra?

So far so good except battery drain seems to be heavier than before. Took it off the charger at 4AM, did one 40 min workout and I'm at 56% as I type this at 11:09. I can't remember if it charged to 100% or 80%, hoping it was 80%.

Check the battery settings on your Apple Watch. It will determine last charge time.

I always put my AWU 2 in sleep focus as I’ve never had it turn on automatically ever.

Been on every Watch os11 beta and not once have I had sleep automatically tracked.

?!!! Had you tried to nap with your AW Ultra? I slept in on weekends after very long Fridays and my AW caught me sleeping more when I sleep in after the Sleep Focus is turned off automatically. All betas it did this, I posted screenshots every time it happens.

Last charged to 100% at 4AM today. Now at 48% at 2:52 PM. I'll give it a reboot.
11.1 battery life is still unpredictable for Ultra users btw. That is even only a small fraction of the battery life advertised for 2+ days. LMK if the battery % is back to its real percentage(s).

Dont forget to submit your feedback for battery life in 11.1. I ended up closing off my one from the 11.0 betas as there was no action.
When making one for 11.1 it says less then 10 have reported the issue

Oof 😅 I’ll get on it this evening. I only filed one report for the 11 beta 1.

Apple advertise the Ultra battery life at "up to 36 hours" with normal usage. And that since the first Ultra, I believe. It was never advertised as a 2+ days device on normal usage, even if it is capable of it with light usage. It is only advertised as up to 72 hours if you run it on low power mode, which trims quite a lot of key features imho.

Is the 'Silver' Reflections face an Hermes-only color, or is it for all? I have no way to verify atm.

Reflections face comes in a variety of colors including the silver. All Apple Watch models running watchOS 11 GM and later have this face. I checked out the colors and silver is available as a color- I wear an Apple Watch Series 6 gold stainless steel.

I only used facts from the Apple website btw. I do not wear an Apple Watch Ultra as it is too big for my wrist so I do not have any conclusions about the expanded battery life.

Yes its my first Apple Watch…until now I was using garmin fenix..I want to test it and check if I can handle the 2 days battery at first.
Do you recommend any good apps for a first time user?
Sorry for the delay

Congratulations 🎉 on your first Apple Watch purchase! I am thrilled to hear that you got an Ultra; did you get the new black titanium or the natural that has been there since last year?

As you pick up your Apple Watch Ultra 2 today, put on the included Trail Loop/Alpine Loop/Ocean Band or titanium band, charge it up for a few minutes and then turn it on. Have your iPhone in your hands and wait for a pop up to come up. Follow the steps on your iPhone to pair your Apple Watch; if you have any problems you can talk to the Specialist who helped you pick up your Apple Watch if you’re doing it in person at the Apple Store, or leave a message here/get ahold of Apple Support if needed. The same people that take care of your iPhone will always be there to help you with your Apple Watch, as well.

For apps, when it comes to Apple Watch Ultra users they favor not just the largest Apple Watch screen size and extended battery life, but also are primarily involved in the outdoors, sporting and rugged/tactical gear. Though I don’t wear an Apple Watch Ultra as it is a brick 🧱 on my wrist, I can still give recommendations based on my own experience over 8 years of wearing an Apple Watch ⌚️, series 1 and a 6. As an Apple Watch Ultra user you get the added privilege of personal safety features like the siren 🚨 that can fend off intruders or beg for help with its super LOUD speakers 🔊. It can be accessed as a separate app or as Ultra users had been taught to do so, in the menu where you turn off or trigger Emergency SOS by pressing and holding either the side or Action button down for a few seconds.

If you are comfortable with wearing your Apple Watch to sleep track with it, you should try out the third party app Peaks. Designed by two indie developers who are also Apple Watch users for Apple Watch users like us, these young developers created an app to promote healthy habits and generate a routine based on energy levels from sleep and heart rate data. Free and NO ADVERTISEMENTS on this app; and though the subscription is not required to use the app, you can get full access instantly if you have the time to provide feedback and meet 1:1 with the developers via teleconference call, which after that they’ll give you a special code to unlock full access to the app for a year. Definitely try it out, I even recommended it to other Apple Watch users as well. Routines can be adjusted to suit your schedule.

Plant Nanny is another cool water tracking app that has an Apple Watch app and lots of complications. Users of all ages love to collect in-game plants 🪴 and ‘water’ plants by drinking water and logging water intake. Supports HealthKit and only bad things is the ads and iPhone is required to log the water, but it supports live activities and widgets as well. Lots of testimonials show that users with health issues enjoy playing this game to track their water intake.

Lastly, if you have Siri Shortcuts on your iPhone, you can pick your favorite shortcut and assign it to the Action Button, asides from complications or having to ask Siri to do it. Huge advantage of this unique feature for Apple Watch Ultra; if I had one I would put my laundry tracker shortcut on it.

Wow thank you for the message..
I am still waiting to receive the natural with Milanese loop…
As I read on watch os 11 you don’t have to install any app regarding the sleep mode .
Yeah Siri is also a good option because I am using shortcuts and will help me!!
