Some people are complaining about battery life on watchOS11, bugs with oceanic+, missing watch faces ...
I am not sure it's developers priority.

Again: we are not complaining. You need better reading comprehension.

For instance, the bugs I mentioned have nothing to do with watchOS 11. As I clearly wrote, they appeared in non-beta versions of the OS and the app. And I would very much argue that it should be Oceanic's priority to not have these bugs. And before you say anything, yes I did report to them over the appropriate channels at that time.

That Oceanic+ has terrible QA is not a complaint. It is a fact.

To be honest, I don't think you telling us to shut up will be terribly effective. Don't you have something better to do?

I agree.

But given the choice between thousands of users who install the beta and don’t submit ANY feedback, and having those users submit feedback prematurely, I’d prefer prematurely.

I hope you feel feedbacks to apple, it's more useful than complaining there.

My Apple Watch Ultra will not charge past 80% on the fast charger and when it is on my wrist, the drain is crazy. I have unpaired on repaired several times. I have also submitted this feedback to Apple.

There are little things in watchOS 11 that I'm enjoying, like the animation that notifications have now, the new alert sounds, the crown being used to get to Notification Center. The watch is my favorite device, so any nice touches that are added are greatly appreciated.

Does watchOS11 have a battery optimization option to stop charging the watch at 80% like the new iPads have? If so, maybe that is turned on somehow.

Updated my ultra2 to os11 and now when charging continuously pings and reconnects to charger. Any ideas to fix this , really annoying!

Developer beta are not here for end user complaints. There is a lot to do at the OS/API levels before listening to end users ...
And if you want to complain, it's not here, Apple is not taking care of macrumors forums.

You know that people can comment about their findings right and troubleshooting? Some of us actually enjoy seeing the progression in the development cycle. If this thread annoys you, then move along, there are plenty others for you to click.

Back to topic, in my case battery is much better for normal use after a reset and repair. However, workouts do drain my Ultra 1 at least twice as much. Yesterday I lost 25% over a 45 minute outdoor walk with cellular data and listening music. Before I only used to lose around 10%. 30 minutes of indoor biking this morning, lost 10%, before I used to lose around 4-5%.

Battery 🪫 for me. Fully charged before my run. Watch on cellular, left phone home, listening to music playlist from watch. After 1 hour 36 minutes watch was dead.

So last part of my run wasn’t recorded. It did sync data, but map wasn’t there as watch died near end. On non beta my watch would go down 30% with cellular and music and running for over 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Just be careful with this beta. Seems to be a big battery drain with cellular and music.

Battery on this is worse then I thought it would be, left work on 48%, 14 mile ride home which took 55 minutes, down to 28%….why do I do this to myself 🫣

I get this on my bedside MagSafe phone/watch charger but it seems to be okay on a regular charging cable…so far.

Could be worse. I completely ran out of battery and not even finished my run!

Do you have cellular on watch and was it enabled?

I do and it was.

Might experiment tomorrow and turn it off before riding, see what results I get.

That's OK, it might be that you misunderstood what the thread is for. To be clear, people should feel free to use this thread to discuss anything about the beta, including what the battery life is like for them, as the thread starter's first post says:

Post up anything and everything.

People can post anything, so I can also tell that battery stuff is completely irrelevant at this stage ...

or they could just not **** it up more and more with every release!? You might not think it matters at the current stage, but even from WatchOS 10 beta moving into the public released versions it never got back to old good levels. Why is this not a massive priority for them? A LOT of people care about battery and almost nobody asked for the widget system or again that they updated it this year. Focus on optimizing the damn battery would be a priority for most

I consider myself pretty tech-savy and even I don't know how to spot "issues from the iPhone" or how to fix it. Pretty much given up and accepted that my watch is 24 hour battery life now and almost half of what it was when purchased.
If the issue comes from the iPhone it won't fix ...

I only installed the beta yesterday but battery life so far on my Ultra 2 doesn’t seem to be out of the ordinary.

Slept overnight with it and recorded a 50 minute workout and I’m on 84%

Usually get almost 2 full days out of it so let’s see what happens.

I am interested on what other people are experiencing with their battery. Like I said previously, if you don’t want to read about beta issues, then move along, plenty of threads for you to read and complain about. Let us share our beta experience as we see fit.

When you start a new release with a lot of unfinished parts, you can't focus on performance and energy efficiency ...
When you develop, you always try to do your best to have optimized code, but the first priority is to have working code and all features available.
We are at a very early stage, lot of features are missing, APIs are not all there, developer documentation is incomplete ...
It's a very rough build, just to make developers test if their apps is working correctly or need a big rework.
It's also a way to explore new features in APIs

I don't say battery life is not critical, it's a main concern on small battery devices like Apple Watches. But a this stage, it's a waste of time to look at that. It can improve in future releases, or degrade if some new features or bugs are introduced.
Wait until the public release (at least)

For your battery issues with watchOS10, I have a radical method: reset both iPhone and watch and start from scratch to see if it's better ... If not, you can rollback to your backups

I want to read about developer feedback, UX/UI feedback, not about people complaining their "production" watch is slow, buggy and how to rollback ...
