I'm sure it'll be big news when its released. I got a beta invite to the Waze beta this morning, too, so I suspect we're at least a week or more out. Disappointed, as I thought they'd have it ready to go today.

Just got notification and downloaded it. Will try it on the way home tonight! Note: this is for Waze Beta testers only..not released to the public yet.

Post some screenshots. I registered for the beta on Friday and have been accepted, but they said its a manual process to get the Test Flight invites out so it may take awhile. How long ago did you register?

I have a aftermarket headunit installed in my truck in July 2016, so I’ve been able to use Waze in my vehicle since then. You will love it!

Time to open up Test Flight and grab it :) . Then to hack it so I get 2 mile police alerts once again

What I have heard mentioned was that they were not allowed to release the app with ios12 APIs until the GM. That I completely understand.
I have a real hard time believing they couldn't touch anything until yesterday. How can Apple dictate how they beta test their software? This isn't released via the App Store.
I expected the app to be in for review already.
But what do I know? Waze probably does not really care as much as we think.

Waze opened its beta up to about anyone a few years ago and got so flooded with people they closed the door to TestFlight but still had users claiming beta tester status. Not everyone who uses TestFlight was running the developer iOS 12 beta and so the amount of users that would complain about functionality would be insane. Now they could have ran an in house beta and controlled the tester base, but with their floodgates open like they are... it makes sense.

What will be interesting to see is whether Apple allows Waze to display it’s annoying ads in the CarPlay version. I believe Apple bans non-verbal ads in CarPlay ads, ie streaming app ads.

I always pick rental cars with CarPlay. Have Executive status with National.

Then again...just grabbed a Mazda 6...no CarPlay...but...Mazda 6.

I have presidents status with hertz. Slim Pickens this week so the infinity I got doesn’t have CarPlay

Does anyone know if Google Maps for CarPlay will transfer those little speech bubbles that tell you that one road is X Minutes faster or slower than another?

Living in the NYC area, it's the single most important feature in any NAV app for me, with so many roads going to the same place it is fantastic to be able to glance at the screen while on the route and see what price you have to pay in time for going on the road you are more comfortable with. Yes, other apps do this but they do it on the overview screen and not during the route itself where it's glanceable without having to touch the screen.

Anyone know if this speech bubble feature is going to be available in the CarPlay iteration or not?
