it's actually working on a jailbroken iPhone, but I wouldn't recommend doing it, just wait for the official version

What?

This thread is about Waze app on CarPlay. No one has that.

I have a aftermarket head unit that was installed in my vehicle in 2016. Along with the HDMI cord installed, I have had Waze on my headunit since then. Once I get home, I’ll upload the picture from my daughter’s iPhone.

When you say HDMI cord do you mean you have a lightning to HDMI converter? Cause if that’s the case then I assume you mean you’re mirroring the entire iPhone display onto the head unit? If so then I see what you mean, Waze isn’t on the head unit per se which I think is what people are confused about, but you’re mirroring your entire screen like I do sometimes onto my TV vi AirPlay.

Ok...that’s what I assumed...so NOT CarPlay. That’s just a step above me using Waze, hearing it through the stereo while listening to music through CarPlay but only seeing it in my phone (and the home screen showing on the head unit)....

Yes that’s what I’m doing. It’s similar to how Waze will look on my headunit once it’s released to the public.

If you’re screen mirroring your entire iPhone then it’ll look nothing like it ok CarPlay, but I don’t care, I just wanna be able to use the damn thing

Like the satellite view available in google maps but not enough to move from Apple maps. I use the calendar on my phone with entries including location so 99% of the time when I plug my phone in it offers the destination I need rather than having to mess about finding it manually.

Just tried it...works as well as it did on the phone...but since I don’t commute anymore, I just prefer Apple Maps visually. And it has/will get so much better moving forward.

My friend recorded her voice for me and that always cracks me up, so I’ll use it occasionally just for the hell of it.
