well i finally ordered a mac pro!

can someone private message me a MAC PRO serial number, so i can put it into coconut identity card

so i can see where mac pro's are made. this little program tells you
 
I see I am not alone, I ordered my Mac Pro, got it, and LOVE IT!!!!! I do need more RAM, but I am waiting for the RAM price wars to heat up again so I can get my 2 GB of RAM for under $300.

i thought i read a label , not that designed info thing, that said made in usa.

weird. oh well. if someone gives me a serial number i can see where they were assembled through a nifty lil program by coconut.

I've just started week 5 of my wait!
Just dispatched Friday, so I'm preying for this week.

The estimated arrival date is the 22nd, which is this Sunday, and I'm pretty damn sure they don't deliver on Sunday, so if it's next week, I'll transform into super hyper mega pissed off mode. :D

Higher Edu.

The order is wrong though because the graphics card isnt what I told them over the phone (asked for ATI)

But, the price I first had was £3993, then normal Edu got me £3400, then HE, £2990....

Not bad really!
 
I'm having a blast. :D I had installed Skype and Firefox and was installing all the updates from Apple when it suddenly went to a blue screen with the spinning wheel. I left it for an hour or so and it was still there. I tried restarting but it would stop on the gray screen.

I'm reinstalling OS X now which is pretty slick once I figured out how to get the cd tray to open and boot from the DVD.

I'm actually enjoying this! I think I'll wait to do the updates once I'm up and running again. Is it the firmware update that's doing this?

I took a few crappy pictures of the unpacking I'll post later.
 
Typing this message on my freshly reinstalled Mac Pro. :) Very happy with the installation process, much better than XP.
 
I am thrilled for you! When I got my PowerMac, I barely left my office for a week, except to eat and shower. I also installed FCP, CS2 and Macromedia Suite. it was truly an age of exploration! Have fun.
 
bah, the bank wont release the money till tuesday for our Mac Pro... Good job Apple hold the prices for upto 2 weeks!
 
i am from canada , i also ordered a mac pro in mid september which i am awaiting for ... first was being built over seas they said took longer , then same day right away was actually couple of weeks before i refused as they had no answer where it had been for couple weeks being it was a 3 day delivery, after numerous calls to apple and them receiving the return they notified me to say they had new one to replace .. when i questioned where it was coming from as i added much to it , was told cali .. and they do not custom make in shanghi ..again 2 more calls to sales and was confirmed they are made in shanghi , but not according to customer service .. does anyone know where the customized ones are made , please need answer ...

Pretty sure they're all made in china.
 
Got mine last week so far I've added 2gb more memory & extra pioneer 111d superdrive & 2nd internal HD.. It's a great machine.

ty very much - DXoverDY - for your reply to my question. My understanding was also they were assembled in china when special ordered with xtra ram, hard drive, storage etc.. only now to be told the replacement they are sending for first delivery was built in cali .. was then told they do not build mac pros overseas only notebooks .. confused !!
when i insisted was told overseas numerous times was hung up on by service rep .. i did call supervisor today but was only able to leave message on machine with no return call as of yet...
6 weeks since i ordered , 5 weeks on charge card and now computer is being built in cali ... has not been a good experience
wondering has anyone received a customized mac pro delivered and if so where did yours come from .. china or cali
