So i picked up this one and it's beautiful. I didn't want a hunk of black plastic on my nightstand.. so i looked for a wooden one. Nice and dark. 3 coils, supports fast charging.

This market is so disjointed right now, as most chargers don’t come with the AC adapter, and of the ones that do, they are either the Samsung price ($30-35+) or the Apple Authorized mophie and Belkin variety ($60+). What the market is currently ripe for is a Wirelessly Consortium member company to produce a mat, stand, or convertible in the $25 range including the AC adapter.

I know some cheap, and frankly, lesser quality stuff is out there at this price-point, but the demand-based pricing, rather than a competitive prices model is hurting all prospective consumers. I’ve done hours of research and yet to pull the trigger just because of this disjointedness.

I picked up the basic Samsung fast-charge pad yesterday for myself and the wife. I probably could have easily went with the non-fast-charge version, as I don't have to charge that often. I went to work yesterday morning and my iPhone X was at 100%. When I got home at 6:30pm it was at 85%. True, I'm not that hard on phones, but this device has completely amazed me when it comes to battery life, despite all the tech inside.

Oh, and the Samsung fast-charge pad connects/charges easily through both my leather Apple case and my wife's Spigen Neo Hybrid.

It doesn't take advantage of the "status light" functionality of the charger since I'm not using a Samsung device on it, but it connects quickly and based on tests will charge the phone from 0-100% in about 3.5 hours. Should improve once iOS 11.2 is released.

If this helps others my RavPower $49.99 charger will wirelessly charge my iPhone X with an Otterbox Defender case on. I rarely have my battery go below 60% but thus far I've never noticed my phone getting overly warm after charging up.

I'm not sure how think the Caudable cases are but it definitely charges with an Otterbox Defender on an iPhone.

My issue isn’t the case. It’s finding a magnet that is large enough to hold my phone on my dash in the car but weak enough to not interfere with wireless charging.

Has anyone noticed that a charger that is circular in shape (like Mophie) leaves a ring in print on the back of a clear TPU case. It's subtle but visible when light reflects off of it?

I guess I missed the part where you were talking about a car charging setup...

It will do 7.5W
They're not the same charger. Belkin only sells one wireless charger designed specifically for iPhone and that's the white, circular model.

I'm just going to return the black model and purchase the "official" white one, as they were the same price. I've yet to read anyone running the 11.2 beta successfully charge at 7.5W with an "unoffical" Qi charger, even if they output 10W or higher.

Which, sadly, points to the disjointedness I mentioned in an earlier post. It is likely that Apple Authorized chargers are going to be the only way to achieve fast charging on the iPhone 8s and iPhone X.

After much ****ing around getting Wi-Fi Sync to work (I forgot how much I hated that 'feature'), I've managed to carry out your instructions.
  • So far, using both a 5W and 10W wireless charger, Coconut Battery is reporting a 6W charger o_O
  • For reference my plugging into MacBook via USB reports 10W, and into Apple USB C Fast Charger reports 12W.
My phone is almost fully charged - will run it down a bit and see if that changed values.

Final Update: Beginning charging at 40%

5W wireless charger: 6W
10W wireless charger: 6W
Macbook: 10W
Apple USB C charger: 16W

Conclusion: Either my Choetech charger is lying about being a Fast Charger (which I don't believe given Amazon reviews), or 7.5W charging is limited to Mophie/Belkin (as reported)
The RAVPower fast charger does charge at 7.5w on the latest beta. Tested this earlier today.

I still need to test the QC adapter on the cheaper Anker charger.

On the bottom of the main window of coconutBattery, there's a line which says "Charging with". Drain your battery to 40% and check the "Charging with" value.

Roughly "Charging with 3.4W', tried with 10W Ceotech and Samsung Adaptive Charger / Anker 40W USB brick (no difference)

For reference Anker 40W + USB lightning measured at 'Charging at 7W'

Y’all in this thread really over complicate things. Apple is using a STANDARD. They can’t selectively block just some chargers using the Qi standard. Any and every properly functioning Qi certified charger that does 7.5W or higher, including chargers that go higher, will deliver full speed charging to iPhone. Factors can make it vary, but iphone is using the standard and can’t pick and choose inside the standard.

Do you know what the iPad charger would charge at if used with a wireless charger

So my Scosche Magicmount Charge Home/Office just arrived. This will be going on my office desk. Packaged nicely, quality materials. This product was on backorder and the day it became in stock I snagged it. I have a iphone x spigen case on my phone, with magicplate mounted on the lower section of my phone and the magnets hold great! I use a wireless charger at night and it charges perfect with the metal plate positioned at the bottom. I also have a magnetic mount on my jeep dash and the phone doesn't shift around. Now when I go rock crawling, will it fall off? Maybe

This charger is also setup for 15w and includes charging adapter.

Oh now I’m curious about this RAVPower Charger. Maybe I’ve been looking at this wrong. Is the meter the requested power prior to the loss with Qi charging? I’ve heard Qi is roughly 60% efficient.

Thanks, almost forgot about that. Also kind of wish I purchased 2 of those fast chargers while the iDBsDeals coupon code was working, but I wanted to test the device first.

they told me to email them and they would give me 20% back on my order.

I got the Spigen 301w fast charger from amazon. $25 and really like the smaller size. Works great so far.

Can you see if the iPhone attaches to the magnet without the case on?
Ive been trying to find a strong enough magnet holder to use without a case.
thanks

Does this stand work with a phone case on the phone? I am thinking of picking one (or two) of these up, but wanted to be sure it works with cases. My husband has an Otterbox Defender and I have a couple of Moshi options on the way. The Moshi options are relatively thin and I feel like they will work, but I wasn't sure about the Otterbox since it's so thick.
