I don't need it, but it would be a nice upgrade from my 47" Lg 7 year old 1080p. I just bought a house (very small house) this past summer and I only have one TV right now. I am trying to keep it as minimalistic as possible so I don't need / or want a TV in multiple rooms since it is only me in here.

My theory would be spend good $$$ on a TV if it is going to be my one and only TV. It's this, or a Samsung QLED which the higher end models actually are close in price to OLED (QLED is still LCD, just very fancy old tech that is brighter than OLED). I foolishly missed out on some black friday deals but hoping that the current OLEDs drop in price after the CES 2019 and maybe around Super Bowl.

If purchased, I also will be upgrading my Xbox One to the One X to get the true 4k experience.

Got the 65in C8 in November on a BuyDig deal via Google Express for almost $1k off. Sign up for alerts on Slickdeals and they constantly find great sales for when you are going to pull the trigger.

The picture is astounding!

So, just curious how much you paid total? If you aren't comfortable sharing publicly can you PM me? I haven't used google express before or even slick deals. So I am not sure how often a good deal pops up. Right now, the TV can be had for $2500 (B8) and $2999 (C8).

Those prices are pretty steep for me. If I can get a deal closer to $2,000 that would be ideal. Now, if you did get a great deal (from which it sounds too good to be true haha) then that's awesome.

Somewhere between 0 and 1
The iPhone XS Max.

I wanted to wait for the next iPhones, but the rumor that Apple is gonna kill the 3D Touch completely is upsetting me. Plus, there is rumor that main improvement over the current iPhones might be just triple camera. Which is...meh.

So, I am very close to buying XS Max.

It was a pre-black friday deal on Google Express/BuyDig and got it for $1899. I haven't seen that low again but it will drop again here soon and creating an alert on SlickDeals catches all the good ones and helped me grab it.

The set is PHENOMENAL. Good luck!

I am leaning very heavily in the direction of going with a Sony A7III but haven't done so yet because that camera is continually back-ordered in just about every camera place around the country! I will have to sell at least some of my Nikon gear in order to help fund the purchase of the camera body and the lenses that I want, because I am not keen on the idea of using adapters and such. I have an adapter that I've used a few times with my Sony NEX-7 and a couple Nikon lenses and was never really happy with the results. If I go Sony full-frame it will mean going Sony all the way with native lenses....

My main issue as a working pro and going exclusively with Sony is that there is just nowhere near the responsiveness or tactile dexterity as with a 1D X or D5 or any of the pro-line of Canon/Nikon cameras. For interiors, architecture - anything static, I use my A7RIIIs and am very happy with them. For everything else - and I mean it - I always pick up the 1D XII (or yearn for a D5).

If you can spot the car make and model below, you'll know what I mean when I say I'm craving one of these. It would also be the first car I've ever purchased (driven and rented aplenty in my time).

Other things include a new 3.2Ghz 6-core Mac mini with 8Gb, 1TB and 10Gb Ethernet, an Apple Watch Series 4, a Finex cast iron skillet, a Vague Black Submariner watch, a Rumplr picnic / car blanket and a pair of Grado wireless headphones...

Any place but here or there....
Minor:

Danger Diabolik! hit iTunes recently (one of my fave Mario Bava movies).

Want to pay off some bills first, especially since I just plunked $$ down for a Japanese region A blu ray of George Romero’s Martin
yesterday. Why Japan is making North American blu rays of Romero movies and we aren’t...um,

Absolutely no idea what this is? Please enlighten this Brit.
Lobby cards were front-of-moviehouse cardboard promotional photos that studios sent to theaters to draw people in.

Finding Shaw Brothers Studio lobby cards can be tricky. The last time any photos from this particular movie popped up on eBay was 2008 or so (at least in my searches). So obtaining promo photos from this particular film is big for me.

Trying to keep from buying any more books at all, until I've heard from my four-county library system that they're not going to buy (any format) of any of the ones I have recommended. My recommendations are not always based on much more than the fact that I just want to read them... :D

I’m trying to keep myself from buying a 1:18 model of the Bugatti Atlantic Type57 and an Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. Cars i will most probably never see in real life. Expensive tho.... hmm.

RICK BAKER
METAMORPHOSIS: VOL 1: 1950–1989, VOL 2: 1990–2019

^ I will cave on this...I am a huge Rick Baker fan, I wish it was at least $100 cheaper though.

And the book on Italian gothic horror 1980-1989 is definite too, Roberto Curti knows and writes about Italian cult cinema like no one else. I refrained from posting the cover due to nudity/violence.

His 1970-1979 volume was fantastic, ditto his book on Italian crime films.

I purchased a 65" E8 this fall and it's been incredible. I got it for around $1500 off I believe and I was going to buy one anyway, the deal just helped to move that date a lot closer. Definitely recommend keeping your eye out for a deal as LG's OLEDS are incredible.
