I know I could make her FLY again.

My God a twin Bonanza for 7k. Sitting up in Flint Michigan.

Were I younger I'd tow her home right now

Tried and true Apple user here but I take so many pics with my phone that the Pixel line has intrigued me for quite a while. Do i neeeeeeed it, no way. I know I will dislike the Android OS, miss iMessage, and everything else Apple but that camera though!

Any place but here or there....
Another phone, possibly Android. I like the Samsung s10e.

Getting really annoyed with iOS (Safari not loading system requirements info on several sites yesterday just drove me up a tree). My 8+ is nowhere near as good as the 7+ was in every way.

It has to wait though. After big purchases tomorrow, real life stuff again.

Apple watch.
Another thing I don't need as I don't wear a watch.
Another thing I want and will probably end up buying......

You are speaking my language. Recently jumped to the OP7 Pro and man what a difference!! I am an iOS guy true and true but I am amazed at the hardware and functionality offered in recent Android updates.

In a coffee shop.
Today, while idly browsing, I noticed that A&K have announced some new products, including one product that supplants their current flagship MP3, the splendid AK SP 1000.

This is the SP2000, due to be launched in July.

Do I need it?

No.

Can I afford it?

No.

Do I want it - that awful verb with its connotation of mindless desire?

Yes.

Do I have an excellent mp3 (as I have become tired of the increasingly tedious complications of the Apple universe - my iPods are a trial to use rather than the effortless and cheerful delight they used to be)?

Yes.

Actually, as it happens, I am the proud owner of the SP1000.......

I have looked at the SP1000 and love the look of the product but I cannot justify the price. What does this product provide that a vastly cheaper product cannot? I believe that as one gets older the ability to recognise minute differences is sound is greatly diminished. For example, I own a pair of B&W P9's and also a pair of Bose QC35's and although I do notice the better quality in the B&W's, that difference is certainly not £400 worth better.

I don't want to sound negative, I buy Apple products that I am sure I could save money on by buying cheaper alternatives, but need some evidence that when I buy a more expensive product it's worth it.

I have an expensive OLED TV because it's widely recognised as the best panels to buy. I'm not convinced re the SP1000 or the SP2000.

Anyway, as I say, I don't want to sound negative!

Well, don't sound negative, then.

"Evidence" is beyond me, this is down to personal preference, disgust that Apple discontinued the iPod classic (and I find the whole world of iTunes a lot less intuitive, and a lot more intrusive, difficult and unpleasant to use than it used to be), and the fact that I could afford it, and had decided that if I was to leave the Apple ecosystem for an mp3 player, it would be the bloody best available.

You own a pair of P9s (I have the P7s, the P5s, and the P3s), which means you understand the concept of quality when applied to audio.

Thing is, most people these days are using their iPhone or iPad to listen to their iTunes library, therefore no longer depending upon a separate MP3 player. Why carry around two devices when one can get music, phone calls, emails, watch tv shows and movies and surf the web all on one device? That’s why the iPod has been fading in popularity over the past several years. Audio quality is a whole other issue, of course.

That said, I have only just recently lovingly tucked my iPod 5G into a drawer for a well-deserved, long-overdue retirement, since it is no longer needed for the last thing for which I was still using it - playing music in the car. (I have an older car, not one equipped to use Car Play and such.) With a recent replacement of the head unit in the car now I can plug in my iPhone or iPad into the system’s USB port right on the front panel, which is what I’ve been doing ever since, and although I can still also plug in the iPod with an aux cable, I doubt that I’ll ever bother doing that again as the other works just fine and in many ways is much more convenient.

But some of us want a dedicated music player; I will never use a phone (or iPad) - a computer, in my room is a different matter - to listen to music.

I travel quite a bit, and for that, I simply want one device solely dedicated to music. My music library easily exceeds 100GB, so I want a mp3 player with a generous amount of storage, too.

Totally get it. When you're on the road, home is whatever hotel you're in this week.

And so what if the A/C is weak, the neighbors are noisy, room service stops before you get in and the bathroom light buzzes. As long as you have just one little bit of your real home with you, everything else can be tolerated.

I used to travel 100% and my old iPod kept me sane. Only thing I could depend on.

Was I constantly looking at this Wacom 32” Cintique Pro at local store instead of the computer needed to power it? YES.

Do I have the artistic know how to use it to the max? Not yet.

Have I stopped thinking about it since then? No.

Am I planning my computer purchase around getting one of these too? Uh, I really shouldn’t.

The Blessing, by Lee Teter

An art dealer, from whom I’ve purchased several prints, called yesterday to let me know that he has a new gallery. He had been working out of his house since he lost his lease a few years back, and therefore couldn’t display his art.
He mentioned that he had about 40 Lee Teter prints, signed and numbered, including some limited edition hand painted prints, which had been stored in boxes.

Of course the picture above doesn’t do the painting justice, but now I’m struggling with how to afford this.

Any special occasion coming up?

A birthday with a zero at the end?

A job started (or sometimes, equally worth celebrating) finished?

An anniversary? An achievement?
