So I had an interesting experience with Apple support, if anyone else is having their order stuck on processing and have a delivery estimate that's getting close, you might be experiencing the same issue as I am.

I messaged Apple support just to check to make sure that there wasn't an issue with my order. They informed me that my order was marked as "possible limits quantity may been exceeded".

They verified with me that I haven't placed any orders with Apple recently (I haven't, last one was last year), and proceeded to file a claim to speed up the order hold.

They told me I should've received an email about it but I never did, I monitor my email cautiously and never saw one.

They also stated that "this hold will be released by its own at an uncertain time", which is odd, and confusing, but hopefully the claim will speed the process up.

A little annoying overall, all the while the order page is showing no other information indicating that there was a hold or an issue.

I'd be so pissed off. Apple should be better than this...

Yeah, I don't have a problem waiting for them to ship and deliver but they didn't give me any sort of indication that there was an order hold due to "quantity limit exceeded".

Which, also doesn't make any sense considering the last order I placed was in November of last year. Very odd, but I'm glad to know that there was a problem with my order and that was why I wasn't getting any progression on my order.

If anyone else is experiencing a similar situation as me, I'd recommend reaching out to Apple support to make sure your order isn't mysteriously marked on hold.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change delivery to pick up at a center? I don't have access to that option until I give an invoice which is after the delivery attempt.

I would definitely reach out to Apple support, I sent them a chat through iMessage and just asked to make sure that my order went through fine and that there were no issues with it, that's when they started asking me if I had made any recent orders with Apple besides the MacBook Pro order.

It's possible you've got the same issue as me, but hopefully not. :/

Yeah just tried but I missed the opening hours of the customer service by 15 minutes here. Who knows, maybe I will wake up tomorrow morning and there will be one for pick up at the Apple Store by any magical chance

Haha i’m hoping the same here! Would love to just pick one up in store, but doubt they’ll have the configuration I want.

Mine is basically the base model 14” but with the upgraded M1 Pro (10c/16c).

I am waiting for a 16” M1Pro MacBook; 10cpu/16gpu, 32gb ram, 2tb SSD. Shipped! Delivery next Wed, Nov 3. To say I’m stoked is an understatement. In fact, while my daughter is at a volleyball game tonite, I decided to visit the Towsontowne Apple store!! Yes! Just to see in person how cool they are. Boy did THAT turn out to be a mistake. As I went past the iphones to the shelf with the laptops, I was accosted by a young man and young lady, saying I had to wear a mask or leave. No ID. They did not introduce themselves. When I asked, they would still not produce an ID. Both said, “It was the policy.” I asked to speak to an Apple employee. Two other young men appeared. This time, blue shirts, with a small white Apple logo. The security had no such logo on their black shirts. No ID. When asked, they said they did not have to show me their ID. Nor would they give me their names. To which I replied, “You don’t? Well I am the district manager.” At this point, I asked for a manager. A young lady arrived. Guess what? No ID. Blue shirt. Apple logo. No ID. Notice a common theme here? Would not produce one. But she DID give me her name. I have been to that store dozens and dozens of times. As a teacher, ‘97, I bought my first G4, and enjoyed the amazing transition to OSX. I type this on an iPhone se, 2nd Gen, listening to AirPods Pro. There was another customer who leaned over and supported me. Evidently he had been accosted too. I almost cancelled my order right then. Still. No ID from any of the six employees. The security threatened to call mall security. I stepped past “the sign” and I phoned Apple. Anthony from customer support talked me off the ledge. He was actually able to find a written policy to read me. BTW, in my state, the mask mandate has been lifted for quite some time. After talking to Anthony, I now know various statements of Apple, policies, etc., but I believe it’s THEIR responsibility to inform customers. Not mine. I am extremely disappointed in Apple, for not recognizing Anthony, and making him a policy director. I am lukewarm about the manager. She gave me her name, but was not an advocate for me as a customer. The two security employees and the three Apple employees should either be fired or retrained. And whoever told them they did not have to produce ID’s or identify themselves should be fired. Shame on Apple.

Mines out for delivery! ? Hopefully it shows up within the next few hours. (I’m in NZ btw)
I'm going to petition the UN to move the international date line. Sick of you Kiwis getting all the new tech goodies first!! :)

Seriously though, I'm jealous. I'll be camping on my driveway waiting for the UPS guy to show up between 12:00-2:00 EST tomorrow. Somehow I'm always the absolute LAST delivery. I think my last iPhones didn't show up till nearly 9pm!!

Following up on what I mentioned earlier with my order hold, I hope this doesn't mean my original order was cancelled.

Just called in.. told me the hold is still there but it'll fall off once it ships and that it should still arrive on time, and that
it wasn't cancelled. Let's hope so..

I have the M1 Pro 10/16 with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD on order, but honestly, if the 1TB variant ("base") config pops up as available in stores, might just spend the extra and get that. We'll see.

In Australia they are very strict.

As to masks, Apple supplies them, free of charge, if you havens't got your own one on, or your mask looks non functional (which is very unusual not to have one here in Melbourne). Apple queues you up outside the store, asks if you have an appointment, gets you to log onto the app where sign into the store, and they only let you into the store when the number of people in the store meets the area versus number of people in the store criteria.

So standards vary across the world.

Apple could afford giving you a mask IMO. But for you, if you don't want to wear one, then, I guess things get much more complicated.

Enjoy your new machine!

Placed a will-call request at UPS earlier today. Hopefully this means I can drive to their distribution center at 8am and pick it up.

It's unfortunate UPS started charging 6$ for them to not drive to my home. Also unfortunate that their website redesign has made it so difficult to submit the will-call request and impossible to view the status of it afterwards.

All the annoyances aside, hopefully everything goes smoothly and I can skip the waiting game tomorrow.

I've always wanted to try this, but I've been afraid the request would delay my shipment. Let us know how it works out. Meanwhile, I've tracked my laptop to my local customer center... but I'll have to wait till 12:15pm-2:15pm allegedly.

I've just seen the bottom end 14" reviewed with jaws dropped and started to wonder if my 64GB 24 core max was wasted money (Photoshop / Ai / Indesign here). Wanted future proof and earn money using it was my justification but these things look crazy out in real world tests.
