I've just seen the bottom end 14" reviewed with jaws dropped and started to wonder if my 64GB 24 core max was wasted money (Photoshop / Ai / Indesign here). Wanted future proof and earn money using it was my justification but these things look crazy out in real world tests.
Haha I think this almost certainly going to end up being the case. I end up keeping machines around 5+ years though so I figure an extra $500 splurged or whatever isn't the end of the world. (I did 16"/32gb/24core/1TB. Probably could have just done 16gb and 16 core gpu).

Mine went from "Arrives Nov 5-10" to "Arrives Wed Nov 3".
Then yesterday the 25th, it changed to "Arrives Mon Nov 1". Based on a number of folks here, I suspected it might come earlier. Today I got this from UPS: (The Apple site still lists Wed Nov 3).

UPS dude just showed up with mine. Yay! The machine is an ice-cube though so I'm going to wait a good 30 min before powering it up for the first time.

Just picked up my 14" from the Apple store. Quick and easy, this thing is awesome!

Walk into your local Apple store...soon. There were decent supplies of every stock configuration and some custom configs this morning, but they will not last.

Yes and no. There are obviously no 15" MBPs to compare in the store, but I spent some time with a physical 13" MBP and the 14" MBP that was tethered next to it today. They're just not that different, at least in terms of LxWxH. I have a 2018 13" MBP. I haven't tried yet, but the 2021 14" MBP might fit in the same sleeve. If it doesn't, I'm certain it will fit into the 2015 13" MBP sleeve I've still got. For a lot of people, Apple went too far with the thin & light model. Touchbars, near-zero travel keyboards, etc. - at some point you defeat usability. I don't know if the 14" and 16" 2021 MBPs are the right balance, but they're a great shot at an answer and might be right on target.

People in the EU Shipping thread are reporting delays with their UPS shipment.

If you are waiting from the EU and experience issues please come over to the thread and report it.

i made that comment after i unboxed it and put it next to my 13 m1 mbp... yeah, this computer is much more substantial and it reminds me of my old 2012 15" retina mbp and it brings back good fond memories of that... from the beautiful screen when retina was introduced and down to the magsafe click... i must say, i really do love this machine, great job apple.

I hate shipping situations like that! I actually had one earlier this year where we were advised that a courier's truck caught on fire and all shipments were lost!

Got my email today! Apple said delivery on 11/9. UPS says 11/3! Original shipping estimate was 11/5 - 11/10.

Come on UPS!

Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine
32GB unified memory
1TB SSD storage

Woulda gone with the 32-core GPU but ran out of money! I think I'll be happy though.

So my range is from 16th November to 23rd. Destination is in Australia. Any idea when it would need to start shipping to meet that range? I am checking my store app way too many times each day. I’m also wondering what courier.

Same range but Germany which is just on the other side of the globe. Still hoping that it will arrive sooner... My experience with shipping was around 3 days from Asia.
BTW: UPS may be quite good in the US, it is absolutely mediocre in Germany (trying to be polite...).

Unless I’m getting a custom configuration, I don’t buy direct from Apple anywhere as much as I used to, so long as I’m certain I won’t be returning it.

So my 16” MBP M1 Pro 1TB, ordered on Friday, arrives Monday. Rather than the 30th November - 7th December date Apple was offering me.

I imagine European countries will get deliveries more efficiently than over here because of the number of flights. I don’t think UPS are in South Australia, so I’m guessing they’ll pass it on to another service. Sounds like that might be to my benefit!

I was so excited for the 16" M1 Pro/Max MacBook Pro, stayed up all night only to fall asleep during the Apple Oct 18 presentation! I managed to order my MacBook Pro later that night. I also ordered a base model 16" MacBook Pro the next day (Oct 19) but the base model MacBook Pro has shipped first while my Custom MacBook Pro (ordered the night before) is still processing

In Melbourne Australia, shipments for order made now, seem to be late November, to early December.

But you can walk into Officeworks (a major office supplier owned by an Australia food supermarket clothing etc retail conglomerate that sells 25% of all retail sales in Australia) and pick up a 512GB 14" or 16" 10 thread Pro notebook ... but the 1 GB ones are not available. My 512 GB internal drive is not really enough in my 2017 MBP. But external fast drives are cheap these days ...

However in Australia, I can buy a 1GB (960) GB thunderbolt 3 drive with 3,000 transfer speeds, for $379 (in $US277). USB 3.2 type C drives are much cheaper. In Australia to buy (a not available) 1 TB equipped MacPro 14 or 16" costs an extra $Au300 ($uS200 in the States).

While Apple's 1TB drive is better value, and we could connect a slower cheaper external drive, it would be tempting to opt for 512GB. But I still think the 1GB has more utility than the 512GB, especially three years from now. Its extra cost is worth it. Which is probably why the 1TB machines have a long wait in Australia.

I went for 2TB. Mine just went to preparing to ship. Heading for Adelaide.
