Prior to playing it I couldn't understand how a racing game could get 10/10 reviews.

Having played it for a week I concur. It's a spectacular game and experience and is even more intoxicating now that I have bought a Samsung q950a dolby atmos soundbar with rear speakers.

Remeber that you won't only play FH5 if you buy the Xbox but will get access to a wealth of other great games through gamepass like Psychonauts 2, Flight Simulator, Halo, San Andreas, Doom and lots more.

Well worth it.

Metro 2033 was excellent.

The last edition was Metro Exodus, which fell really short for me. I don’t know how it’s improved since I last played it, but the audio was sketchy, The voice acting was terrible, and a lot of saturated contrast with colors.

xbox.com has a new collection of games that go on sale every Tuesday. Games that are a few years old get nice discounts (like steam).

Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.

I was so happy when this game finally got localized, and they kept all the original Japanese names and locations (They really cannot fake it into Japanifornia this time... :D). Well, except for Sherlock Holmes related names (probably due to copyright issues outside Japan).

The auto mode for dialogues are a huge welcome feature. The investigations stuff though, feels basic (due to the time-setting in the past, where fingerprinting itself was an unknown concept). The jury system is really interesting and add a new dynamic to the gameplay. And no mood-matrix stuff (this part in Dual Destinies was really annoying for me). Just basic fact checking and "objections." Sweet. :)

I'm reading that there won't be any sales on consoles this year: https://www.cnet.com/tech/gaming/xb...-restocks-coming-soon-game-bargains-live-now/ but at $300, the Series S is already well worth it.

Forza Horizon 5 is on xbox GamePass, and the first month of that is a buck ($15 after the first month). It's like Netflix for games and is well worth it on the xbox ecosystem. Forza will stay on there indefinitely since it's an in-house game.

I got the Series S and quickly filled up the internal SSD. Luckily there are 3 USB ports on the console which support (slower) drives. So my system is to keep 5-9 games that I'm currently playing on the internal drive, and bought an inexpensive USB drive for [overflow] game storage. It's very easy to copy games back and forth as needed.

I myself have done this….. once your free month is up (assuming you take off auto-renew) go ahead and stock up on two years of gold membership. Input those codes and then buy a 3month subscription of game pass. It will automatically switch your two year gold sub in to game pass. So what I ended up with was 2 years and a half year of gamepass subscription. (Each subscription has an extra month added i believe. Don’t hold me to it now. Because this was done around March this year.
If this does still work. It’s a great glitch to save money lol

Or just use bing once daily to run through the news and do Microsoft rewards. That combined with the rewards yo uget during the month from GamePass is more than enough to earn points for 3 months cards. I have had Ultimate since the beginning and I have never paid for a subscription. I just earned enough for another one and I have GPU through May of next year. (It would have been through August, but I used one of my 3m onth rewards on my sons account.)
 
Final stretch of AC Valhalla. Doing some last sidestuff and then off to the last area of the game.

Picked up three games with Black Friday discounts: Deathloop, Immortal Fenyx Rising & Watchdogs Legion. Any comments @MisterSavage on which of these I need to start with? ;-)
 
Microsoft flight simulator.

The latest update just dropped, and this game is just freakin’ amazing on every level possible on my Series X.

Deathloop. They just released a big set of changes to make the AI much smarter. I'll invade your game as Juliana and be very mean to you. :(

I've finished them both and loved them. Really cool story and nice gear. Figured it would be better to do them before finishing the main story so my talent tree is filled up more :)

Currently at 128 hours (incl DLC's), and there's loads of optional content left, but I'm not going for the platinum trophy on this one like the previous AC's since it has a trophy to catch all types of fish in the world, and I hate fishing in any game so can't be bothered with it, thus not bothering doing everything. I only do stuff that has a storyline.

Which game should I buy to take some advantage of my PS5's horsepower? I have had it for a year, and it's mostly been a glorified PS4 to me.

I already have Demon's Souls. It looks great, I just have a hard time with the controls, as they feel kind of slow and clunky compared to Blooadborne and Dark Souls 3.

Ratchet a& Clank I will get at some point, but it's not something I am currently in the mood for.

128hour is solid value for money! I love Roman history and might play Odessa purely because of that.

Ratchet & Clank is a great series. We've had it since it first came out on the PS2. In fact, we we're still on a PS3 (we were the lucky ones to find the 60GB version instead of the 80GB version because the 60GB version also has the backwards compatibility with the PS2), and play the Ratchet & Clank collection (which has the first 3 games in the series), plus the next 2 that were only for the PS3. Since the newer consoles don't have the backwards compatibility, we're staying on the PS3, and that series was one of the reasons why.

Returnal and Death loop are PS5 exclusives. Not sure if DL really pushes the system though. Returnal supposedly does.
