Today I played Witcher 3 next gen update on my Series X and LG C1.:eek:

Holy cow the game is stunning. 60fps is a HUGE upgrade and makes the game feel and look buttery smooth. After an hour of game play, ray tracing mode at 30fps looks choppy and feels unplayable.

The biggest surprise of the upgrade is sound. Audio is world class and the soundtrack is hands down the best that I have experienced in a game. I have the Samsung Q950T with rear speakers and wow, the mapping and sense of location in a space is viceral.
Well done CDPR. I look forward to resuming the game. This game is a classic and has now been immortalised by this upgrade.

What I SHOULD be playing
NBA 2K23
Madden 23
Elden Ring
The Witcher 4K Update
Etc, etc, etc

What I AM playing
MLB The Show 22

Well over 800 hours this year and cannot get enough.

I finished Final Fantasy Crisis Core Reunion and Control in the mean time. Both cool games. Funny thing is that I started Control while Death Stranding Director's Cut was installing and loved it so much I didn't start DS just yet. Playing some optional stuff now.

I just accepted a 3 month free Arcade Subscription.
Is there a better golf game than stickman ssg3?
or any sport games that are realistic ?
thanks in advance

Recently got a Switch. Got a slew of games for half off during a sale back in Dec. I've been playing..

Spelunky - Fun, but I've hit a wall in unlocking a checkpoint. AFAIK, this is as far as I'll get with this game, so I'll do some research, but otherwise, may move on. Like to this game's sequel (which I also have).

Hades - I've seen this played by friends, so I wasn't completely new to it. It's fun. Even if I never make a successful run. The dialog is full voice, and dynamic depending on the situation you're in, and who else you've conversed with. That said, I may consider using god mode if I really want to see how the rest of the story goes (or just check on YouTube).

Zelda: Skyward Sword - My 3rd 3D Zelda game (Ocarina Of Time, then Breath of the Wild for the previous 2)
I prefer 2D Zelda games, but this was half off (for physical no less). After dealing with BotW's open world, enormous amount of content, and sheer complexity, this is actually a nice change of pace. Not very far into this though (I have yet to do any combat!)

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium - A collection of games. Comes with Sonson, but all others need to be purchased. 2 big features that attracted me here are 1) you can rewind (press and hold the ZR button), so any goofs you made, or just want to try something different... this lets you go back up to 15s (IIRC). 2) Save states. To go beyond the Rewind limit, but also if you just want to stop the game and resume later, but also replay key moments. Here, games included...
Block Block - Arkanoid clone, complete with powerups
Eco Fighters - Side scrolling shooter
Pnickles - action puzzler where 5-in-clump of the same color gets removed

Ashamed to say I’m way behind the times…I started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 a while back.

Walking up to the manor in Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern might just be one of my favorite gaming moments! Well done, Rockstar!

EDITED to add the “2”. Forgot that 😂

I caved and used CDKeys and bought the new Dead Space Remake, I am playing it on high quality mode and damn! On my Xbox Series X and 55” OLED it looks utterly stunning AND runs so so so smooth! Finally a proper next gen game not tied to last gen tech! I like the changes they’ve made too.

I’m beginning to get a collection of games I need to play through now, but couldn’t miss Dead Space, it’s an true classic.

Currently playing Death Stranding Director's Cut. I tried playing the game back in the days on the PS4 and gave up after an hour or so. This time I kept playing and must say that I'm enjoying the game. It's hard to describe a "walking simulator", but there is something fun about rebuilding the roads and other infrastructure with other player that you never see. Still didn't like the first part where you don't have any weapons and have to run away a lot like a little female dog. But when vehicles and weapons get introduced, it becomes a fun game.

Don't have a lot of time anymore to finish it, because I (digitally) pre-ordered Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe so the countdown has started for that one!

Some of the boss fights are epic and I normally dislike boss fights.

Shifted Switch gaming to...
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker - Fun puzzler with that Nintendo charm! I was a fan of the Captain Toad levels in Super Mario 3D World. I knew of this game by name, but was ecstatic to hear that CTTT are those similar Toad levels that got spun off into its own game!

Ghosts 'N Goblins: Resurrection - Glutton for punishment I am. However, did hear this had features to better suit the not-so-hardcore-gamer. Checkpoints, difficulty levels, being able to go down in difficulty if you're dying too much, tech tree for spells, and spells you can equip multiple of! So decided to give this a shot (not to mention it was half off).

B/c it's not "rogue-likte", I can replay the same areas in quick succession. However, the attack spells have been weak (which makes sense I guess since they're so prominent. Unlike say how OP they were in Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts for SNES, but requires powerups to get to the point of being able to spam them).

Hades - still playing this, but close to putting it on hiatus. I've gotten much of the low hanging fruit, so may want to shift my time to other games.

Finished Death Stranding Director's Cut and what an awesome storyline. Blew my mind. I'm glad I'm finally pushed through the first part where you have no weapons nor vehicles. Awesome stuff.

And started last night with the first part of Hogwarts Legacy. Looks promising, very promising.
