...and I've had like an hour on the game tops so far (2 kids under 4yo) so haven't even gotten to the first boss yet!

...and I'm still getting my ass handed to me despite finishing DS/II multiple times

Well according to the achievement stats, the majority of players don't have the boss down yet. It's neat to be able to see that sort of thing (coming from 360 where the achievements didn't list percentages).

Edit: Second boss down :)

I tried tried out the Code Name S.T.E.A.M. 3ds demo. It's ok. Didn't intrigue me enough to run out and buy it right now. To be honest I only tried it because I read Will Wheaton was doing the voice of Abe Lincoln, lol.

I think I've had enough of Luigi's Mansion after only 2 hours or so. I'm just so bored of it. The gameplay is very repetitive and not that exciting. The controls are a little odd, although I am mostly used to them. The enemies are not challenging. The story is okay but nothing special.

I just hate giving up on it since it's supposed to be fairly short, ~6 hours, but it's just dragging... I was interested in Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon but not anymore. From what I've read comparing the original with Dark Moon it seems to be more of the same.

I'm going to give the Resident Evil 1 REmake a try. The original GameCube version.

I see some of you are on Bloodborne. I am avoiding it because I value my sanity more than a difficult game. I couldn't even get through first part of Lords of the Fallen despite it being easier than souls games. I don't have patience for these games, I'd rather play 70 hours of Dragon Age adventuring than 30 hours Bloodborne and 40 hours dying in Bloodborne and repeating.

Don't forget 5 hours looking at loading screens.

Speaking of which, I am finding the loading times on Bloodborne rather long. It probably doesn't helps that all you see is the logo while it loads; in the previous games they showed you some random item and it's description.

2 bosses down, I got both of them on my first try but the Blood Starved Beast is whooping me hard...I'll destroy him/her today. Old Yharman is...something else;) I finally get the hang of shoot first then gut them...its satisfying.

I'm actually not bothered by the loading although I wished they went the Demon's Souls route and give us some of the story on the loading screen.

MRU: Lords of the Fallen is garbage and its combat is totally unbalanced(you're in the middle of your combo and they can recover mid combo and destroy you or better yet they recover 90 times faster than you) compared to DeS/DS/BB so you would fair better at BB.

Have you guys notice the new crystal lizard...

Yeah something like that or anything other than just the logo.

Yep, have seen two so far, very cool and quite fitting with the setting of the game; saw one near the entrance to Old Yharman and the other on the steps towards the Blood Starved Beast (beware of it's nasty poison!).

I am currently on another boss after the Blood Starved Beast, on another area. Let's see who it goes :)

I saw that you were playing it matey. So do you think Bloodborne is balanced enough for wider audience? Also is deaths punishment as bad as it was in Demon Souls (I never played Dark Souls).

They said they'll patch them as they're upto 40 seconds long I have heard.

So which to buy later? This or handsome Jack collection?

^I can't say if it's more friendly to causal as this game is still tough. Your character is much faster in speed and reaction but the enemy is as well but the enemies don't all have heat seeking trackers programed into them making them able to hit you no matter how much you maneuver(lords of the fallen is a perfect example of enemies with this technique)

There's a regain system that gives you an opportunity to recover most of your hp if you get hit but you have to be aggressive or you will lose that hp. Enemies no longer stand still and wait... They patrol and if you're not careful you will have an angry mob chasing you.

I think it's on par with Demon's Souls when it comes to difficulty and punishment is just the same. It all depends on how you tackle it... If you're running around like if this is a hack n slash then you won't make it far... Its still a souls game.

If you like RPG's and don't think you can slog through Bloodborne, you should maybe check out the other hot new highly rated release, Pillars of Eternity. It is being called the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate. Not on consoles, but there is a Mac version (PC and Linux too!).

So close to picking up Bloodborne! I'm trying to not buy many games whilst work is busy... but literally everyone on my Twitter feed is going crazy over it. It sounds phenomenal.

It was shockingly €75 here from Gamestop!!! Couldn't believe it. Thankfully I had trade in credit to offset it but yeah one of the priciest games I've seen for a while. €65 for Borderlands Collection.

It best be worth it.

Mind you the Borderlands patch is telling me it will be 18 hours to download.

So can't even play that till tomorrow.

Finally got a chance to sit down and play Bloodborne for more than just a couple of minutes...

It's amazing. Might be my favorite in the Souls series...there, I said it!

It's really well done, and other than the load times, not too much I don't like so far.

Got the first boss on the first try, and the second boss down to 1/3 health, but he got me. Will hopefully try later today if the hospital quiets down enough to let me leave!

I told my younger brother to buy it and a PS4 today-I keep my PS3 just for Demon's Souls, and would be inclined to get a PS4 (if I was planning it sometime anyway) because of Bloodborne.

Plus, the new software update makes it easy to jump in for a few minutes, and not lose your place. I love that. I know XBox One had this for a while-it's a great feature.

Oh god Bloodborne is tough.....

Yeah. I've played over Demon's Souls and Dark Souls I & II more times than I can count and I am dying more than I expected to in Bloodborne. Loving the challenge tho!

Really liking the level design and the over all atmosphere even if it does seems to lack a bit of variety (same goes for the weapons/setups so far).

I have to try and get out of the need to try and kill everything especially when I'm clearly outnumbered or up against something twice my size. Hopefully I get into the rythm of it at some point otherwise it'll be another game I only get to see 5% of.

What the hell with lack of checkpoints?

Seriously I got quite far after myriad of attempts in first part killing a few really big baddies and such, got to the sewers and died. Right back to start losing everything. I am already growing tired of this replaying same thing over and over and over. To me it isn't fun, it's becoming a work chore.

MRU you have to open up short cuts. There are alot of short cuts in central Yahamn that will get you close to wherever you need to go... Open up them gates and look for passageway hidden by barrels and coffins.

I'm at the Cathedral boss right now and although it is slow is definitely makes up in its size and hitting power. I'm really enjoying this game.

Tip: of you see an enemy that looks like it has a snail on its head... Sneak attack is key also watch out for the guy that hits you with a bloody bag.

Thanks for the tips :) not ready to give up yet - though I do think a concession to movie gamers of this type wouldn't have detracted for the hardcore. The ability to plant 1 checkpoint would have opened the accessibility up no end at the moment it feels like I see more Bloodborne loading screen than game.

.. also watch out for the guy that hits you with a bloody bag.

Those guys can be a pain, their damage is crazy and when they "power up" their chain of attacks becomes rather difficult to dodge.

I finished all the levels of the first labyrinth and am now at the boss Darkbeast Paarl. He is kind of annoying because it is difficult to see what he is actually doing due to his design.

Stick with it. One of the things that almost caused me to give up on Demon's Souls was this same thing-the grind. I'd get to the point where I had enough souls to get something cool, then I'd lose them all. I'd be running around trying to get to a checkpoint without dying...very frustrating.

So much so, that I gave up on Demon's Souls after the first boss. I made my way to the Giant Knight boss, and thought, "this is ridiculous-all this way for certain death?" I put it aside, and almost didn't buy Dark Souls...

After forcing myself to play Dark Souls past that first boss, it started to open up my gaming world. I saw the grind as a necessary aspect, and I simply accepted the fact that I'd lose lots of souls from time to time. It's all part of it. The shortcut system makes the game worth the hassle, and also gives you the option to grind away and collect things you need, then quickly get to the boss area to try again. Same with co op play (though I can't get that working just yet...)

I'm getting routinely killed by the second boss in BB, and I'm just forcing myself to try again and again until I beat it. I'm still amazed by the level design, and I love the aesthetic, so for now it's ok-I can take multiple runs to try again. I'm currently looking to up my ante of Molotovs to try to take him that way....

Stick with it, and you'll be glad you did. Seriously

Anyone else been getting weird bugs?

1. After resuming a game (software 2.5) I got "invincible" enemies. I was in the kennel area, and I could get the dogs down to where there was no health bar (usually 2-3 hits) and they would not die. They'd still beat on me, and I could hit with damage, but they'd never die. Had to restart to get that corrected.

2. Summoning with the bell doesn't work. I've tried a few times, and no luck-also:

3. Tried summoning a few times with the bell, immediately (or after a minute or two) get an error that the connection to the server was lost, and I lose that insight point. I'm scared to try again-anyone successfully summon anyone yet?

4. The spectres don't work. I think I've seen 3-4 of them during my 3+ hours of play so far, and the vast majority simply show the headstone after a moment. So they don't really give me any insight as to what's happening.

Other than this, I've had a fantastic time with the game, and love it. Makes the PS4 worthwhile to me. Hope it's the first in a long series of Bloodborne!

Something I am not liking about Bloodborne is the non-ending grind for blood vials. They really should have let you start with the same amount after you used almost all of them on a boss but ended up getting killed by it. Dark Souls I & II had nailed this mechanic with the Estus Flasks. It is quite a chore to have to spend 20 or more minutes farming blood vials (or enough echoes to purchase them) before you have another shot at a boss.

Having you start again with all the blood vials used up doesn't makes the game more challenging it only adds unnecessary tedium.

I've tried summoning with he bell even before the patch and I have yet to see it work.

I'm not liking that mechanic as well, having to farm to get your blood vile/silver bullets back after a failed boss encounter or always having to warp to the Hunters Dream to warp to another location... Lucky thing for me the loading times warping to the Hunters Dream isn't as long as leaving the place.

I haven't tried any sort of online play yet but I did get the glitch where the enemies was able to fight on after they had no hp left. I thought it was a feature because if you looked closely there eyes change to red..damn werewolves.
