No, you just need to make sure to include "Mac OS 9 Drivers" when partitioning the drive in Disk Utility in OS X, otherwise OS 9 won't be able to see the partitions or boot from the drive. If the drive has already been partitioned without the drivers and you don't want to redo it all, you can add the drivers non-destructively.BTW, do I need to install MacOS9 before MacOS X (any version)?
cross compiling is definitely the way to go. ive been compiling basilisk on a i5 3320m in a hacky chroot and it takes about an hour. having working github again is nice.It took almost a FULL day, but i got current Pale Moon 32.0.1 built on VoidPPC 32-bit. My poor 12" powerbook G4 spent 1122 minutes (18.7 hours!) to build it, but it was worth it. Their latest release has huge web compatabilty improvements (without the need of polyfill extensions) that now allow github to work again, discord web to work again, etc etc. I built it with official branding for myself, but i might zip up my source and message @xeno74 and have him rebuild with unofficial branding if he's up to it. I just can't justify puting this machine through that again. Lol.
Cheers
Have you tried using a different CD drive? Some are very selective of what they want to read, especially at this age.So, Canister refuses to boot from any CDs burnt, only AHT 1.2.7 works.
Q1 - Have you looked through Macintosh Garden and/or Macintosh Repository yet? The Internet Archive may also be a good place to look.Question 1 - where can I obtain confirmed bootable images for G4 MDD (manufactured in 2002)?. Question 2 - how to set up verbose boot from OF shell?
Question 2 - how to set up verbose boot from OF shell?
setenv boot-args " -v"
I have all of my machines configured for verbose boot at all times. It's rather handy and saves having to hold a key combo down.Q2 - Is Command+V not working?
Yes, at least 3 different. Only one works, others cant even eject tray.Have you tried using a different CD drive?
Untested. I personally prefer always enabled verbose bootIs Command+V not working?
This usually only means the machine-specific CD you used is not the correct one for your machine. Try a truly universal install CD.After launcher MacOS Installer application - got message that Software can not be installed on this computer.
There is an application called "Drive Setup" on the OS 9 CD. Select the hard drive, click "Initialize" and partition it the way you want. How can I partition drive?
That should be sufficient. One more stupid question. Which PRAM battery model I need for replacement? Will this work?
What I need to do? How it passes hardware test if something wrong with CPUs?I’d check the CPUs first.
How it passes hardware test if something wrong with CPUs?
Great. Is there something more thorough? The Apple Hardware Test isn't always reliable in spotting particular problems...

Never heard about port for powerpc...
Hold down C, boot to an Ubuntu PPC disk, and memtest from there!
