XS Max 256 - this is still a great phone in my opinion and have no plans to upgrade any time soon.

Finally upgraded from iPhone 6+ 128GB from launch date to iPhone 11 128GB today. Almost 6 years!

Had a battery replacement in there to keep the 6+ going but the 1GB Ram and constant refreshing between apps and sluggish speeds coupled with lack of iOS 13 ([Family] Reminder compatibility issues) were starting to get bothersome.

The 11's chassis is smaller in x and y plane than 6+, but it's thicker and heavier. If I was to spend more money upgrading, it'd be directly for the Pro Max with either 256 or 512GB and go all in. I'd skip the smaller Pro model entirely. I like my bigger screens that I can comfortably view from a mild distance.

The rest of the family has 2x 8+ and a 7+. Everyone loves their phones.

As spare/travel phones, I also have 2x iPhone 6 with new batteries running iOS 13 very well. The problem is the small screen and the short battery life. Big phones are easier on the eyes and the longer lasting batteries are much appreciated for a full day use. This is why the SE was never an option as well. iPhone SE+ would've been interesting, but that's been reportedly pushed until the end of next year.

32 GB iPhone SE A1662 (2016) in Rose Gold;

but probably will switch to an A1723 iPhone SE (2016) once T-Mobile manages to fully fold Sprint's LTE into their Mix. I can't imagine T-Mobile shutting down all mid band spectrum to LTE from the ole "now network" as they have more spectrum available than currently have deployed.

1 bar of T-Mobile at my house, Verizon is "No Service," AT&T 2 bars of 4G or 2 bars of LTE, depending on where.

Sprint, on the other hand? Full LTE service on Band 41, which iPhone SE A1662 doesn't support. A1723 does.

Why dont I just use Sprint? Well, CDMA is limiting in terms of what one can do with calls (merge, three-way, etc) and Simultaneous Voice / Data is still not a thing.

Bring on iPhone 12!

Currently a 256GB X which I've had for a couple of days, but going to exchange it for a brand new 64GB SE. No intention of upgrading in Sept/Oct so going to be keeping the SE until next year's new model (12S?) - the SE should have a better re-sale value than a 4 year old X.

Prior to this I've had the 4S, 5, 5S, 6, 6+, 6S, 7 and the first-gen SE.

Original SE space grey 128gb. Plan to keep using for a few more years but will take a look at the 12 as a possible upgrade.

iPhone XS 256GB space grey as my main device. Prior to this I used the original iPhone SE (16GB space gray - A1723), which is still being used and an iPhone 4.

The iPhone 4 was a white 8GB model and is still running iOS 6.1.3
I tried iOS 7, but it was so slow, I decided to downgrade almost 2 days after the update. I missed the features tough.
After 3,5 years, I upgraded to the original SE as my personal phone.

I also had 2x iPhone 5 and the 5s which I received from my work to be able to make an receive phone calls for work.
The first one was a black iPhone 5 32GB, but the battery life was terrible bad.
So I gave that one back, for exchange I received a white iPhone 5. Battery life on that one was better, but it still didn't last a whole day.

After a few months, so I was able to gave the white 5 back and received the 5s for work. While it seems a small update, it was a huge improvement.
Battery life was great and lasted 2-3 whole days before it needed to recharge. TouchID worked a little bit odd sometimes, as not recognizing my fingerprint, but was working great after I cleaned the home button.
I continued to use that phone for work for about 2 years until I bought myself the XS.
So I was done setting up the XS and, later on, I decided to use the good old SE as my work phone. After that was done, I wiped the 5s back to factory and gave it back to my work.
I was happy with the 5s and I miss it, but the SE is a good replacement and feels like the 5s.

Battery on both the SE and the XS are great and are still the original batteries.
XS (15 months since I bought it) - battery health = 95% - Peak performance = yes
Original SE (4 years and 2 months since I bought it) - battery health = 87% - peak performance = yes

is the xs still a good buy now?

how many years will it still get os support? Between maybe this and 11 (fall purchase). I like the OLED, but not a deal breaker.

I’ve had my XS Max for about 6 months now.. it’s a great phone. Well, my last phone was a 7 so this is the best phone I’ve ever had lol. I’ll keep it until they hot rod the iPhone with ARM.

hows the battery? i'm a normal user. i'm looking for ios experience (been on android for a decade) but a good deal

I bought the 11 last fall only because my son needed a new phone so I handed down my 8+ to him and this year my daughter will need a new phone, so I plan on handing her my 11 and getting me the new 12 Pro Max.

Personal: Midnight Green 11 Pro
Work: Red SE

Isn’t it weird to use one with no buttons and one with a home button throughout the day? Or not really?

XR and I’m going to use it for a long time probably. Still in day 1 condition, not a scratch on the screen protector that I installed on day 1.

PLEASE tell me what brand screen protector you’re using. I need to replace mine 2-3 times a year.

I thought it would be but I seem to adjust pretty quickly between the two. Getting used to the different control center locations does take some thinking though!

The biggest thing I notice day to day is that the SE doesn’t have tap to wake. Never realised how much I used until I got the SE.

Me - 11 pro max 64gb
Wife - 8 plus 64gb
Daughter - X 64gb
Daughter - 7 32gb

not looking to make any changes or updates for another year or so until the 12S models are out

I have an 11 which I’ve been using since November 2019. Very happy with it so far. Also have a 4S (still on iOS 6) that still sees regular use as an iPod.

Xr 64 gb since April of this year, from a 6s 32 GB. The Xr is a beast, and FaceID is a joy to use. Going to use it until it's too slow for normal use.

I don't care for large phones. I'd get the new SE, but it seems like an incremental improvment over my 8. If there truly is a smaller iPhone coming in the fall, I'll probably get it when my AppleCare+ expires in the spring.
