I had seen trailers for "Iron Sky", but never saw it go to theaters. I saw it this weekend, and since I was set up for how bad it was, I was able to thoroughly enjoy it. It's pretty terrible, but I'll watch it again.

I also watched "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". That remains one of my favorite family films.

I saw "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close". I didn't buy the young child as the narrator, but it was still a good movie. I don't think I'll watch it again, though.

I've been chewing on the events, and one thing bothers me. Oskar was able to calculate when his dad's calls were made, and where he was at the time. He correlated the time of his dad's last call with when the tower collapsed, but still tried to identify his dad as one of the jumpers from the tower. Very sad anyway.

A couple of cool films: The Apartment, A Streetcar Named Desire, Vampire's Kiss, Warhole's Blood for Dracula by Paul Morrissey, Ghost in The Shell II.
Blood for Dracula is amazing! Really campy and trashy but Udo Kier..wow, would have been a good reason to become gay let alone the most perfect introspective opening scene I've watched in a really long time. Great piece of art imho but not for everybody.

Dream House starring Daniel Craig (Mr. Bond) and Rachel Weisz (again). I like it. :)

Watching "Sweet Smell Of Success" - 1957.

Even though I normally go for earlier films, I think this is a brilliant, later era film noir. Burt Lancaster is chilling, his smile so cold and evil. Tony Curtis, generally not much of an actor, is terrific in this. Slimy, smarmy, manipulative...he does an amazing job in this film. Even Barbara Nichols is touching and vulnerable.

Fine direction and amazing black and white cinematography.

Extraordinary movie...definitely worth a look.

Just in time for Halloween, I picked up Poltergeist - I've always been intrigued in this movie but have never seen it!

Happy Halloween :D

saw End Of Watch the other day. was pretty good. final action scenes could have been done better though

Still looking forward to see Prometheus..think it will be ok as my expectations are rather low and normally I like movies the majority doesn't approve of (don't know why).

Last movies I've seen were The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and The Driver. Both classics. I highly recommend Walter Hill's rather unknown The Driver from the 70s to everyone who liked Bullitt. Extra-cool.
Haven't seen Drive until know but am wondering if it is a kind of remake..setting seems to be comparable.

I think if you take the story as it is, without getting focused on inconsistencies with what came before it (movie wise), it's a good movie with a decent story and great visuals. I know some people were unhappy with the spoiler> blatant disregard for quarantine procedures by a single character, then followed by the others, then ignored by those on the ship. However for at least one on the ship, contamination was not a concern. Based on the known history of Wayland Yutani Corporation, no real surprise there. And it turns out a space suit won't protect you anyway. ;) <end spoiler. But who is to say that could not happen? Human beings make bad decisions every day.

Read the spoiler after you see it. :D

Just finished Prometheus. meh. I guess I expected more.

I'm debating whether to get that from iTunes where I can apply my gift card and not spend any real money or by the DVD. Given that it seems to be only meh, I may opt for not taking any money out of my pocket on this one.

I liked it, despite some inaccuracies and unanswered questions. I have the Quadrilogy on DVD, but bought this one on iTunes.

I think Prometheus is supposed to be a prequel to a prequel to Alien. So I am expecting another movie to be released.

I thought it was just ok. Nowhere near as good as the Alien series..

What part of the Alien series are you referring to? ;) Alien franchise movies 1-2 were A+, movies 3-6 SUCKED. Alien Resurrection made me want to puke. Number 7 (Prometheus) was a move in the right direction. link. And although not technically an Alien movie, Predator/Arnold was outstanding.
