I all ready posted EW's top 10 movies of all time (out of a list of 100). To elicit some interesting comments, here is their U.S. centric top 10 TV shows (out of the top 100). :)

1. The Wire
2. The Simpsons!
3. Seinfeld
4. Mary Tyler Moore Show
5. The Sopranos
6. All in the Family
7. The Andy Griffith Show
8. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
9. Mad Men
10. Your Show of Shows

Of these I really like dThe Simpsons, or I did the last time I watched it 10 years ago. Watched a newer episode recently and it seemed like more of the same. Also like Seinfeld, MTMS, Sopranos, All in the Family, and Andy Griffith. I've been meaning to watch Mad Men, just have not gotten around to it. Too young for Your Show of Shows.

I saw the first episode of Under the Dome the other day, and thought it was OK. The plot was pretty good, but I thought the acting wasnt very good. Im dloading the second episode as I type.

I just went through the first season of Vikings, and I LOVED it! Great acting, great action, and just a very good series by the History Channel.

Ray Donovan was another series that started on Showtime last week, and I thought that was pretty good also. A bit too much info for the first episode, but overall, I was happy with it.

I just watched the pilot of Under the Dome today as well on Amazon Instant. I didn't know anything about it or had even heard of it. I just randomly picked it to watch as a test to see the quality of Amazon on the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360.

I thought it was okay, somewhat interesting and I will continue to watch it, for now at least. It also stars Dean Norris who played Hank in Breaking Bad whom I think did a great job.

I have just finished watching all of Prison Break on Netflix I know it's old but never seen it before. Was amazing. Fox is bringing back 24 can't wait till that starts again. Dexter last season started this week am addicted to that.

Starred to watch Banshee from today so far so good. Oh and can't wait till The following comes back on and home land. That's me with my tv or online viewing lol :)

I just finished watching season 2 of Boss, with Kelsey Grammer. What an amazing, riveting and gripping show this is - or was. I thoroughly enjoyed every episode of each season. The many different twists, turns and unexpected directions it took along with the exceptionally twisted web's each character played a part of, yet intertwined somehow, was simply astonishing. The writers of the show were just fantastic.

I'm very disappointed with Starz for not keeping the show going. The finale episode left many things yet undone and room for a lot more drama to occur in further seasons. I sure hope they reconsider and bring it back.

I find that puzzling too.

It's actually a really good show, as all of Joss Whedon's shows have been. The superficial story is merely a framework for exploring interpersonal relationships and such regular human stories.

Kind of like The Sopranos for me. The mob bits were just a backdrop for a story about a family.

Honestly I never gave Buffy a chance, so to be fair I should not judge. Firefly is my favorite Whedon show. It has some unique aspects and genre blends which set it apart. The appeal was different, but for perspective, I'd choose Star Trek: Next Generation over it. Serenity was good, although I had difficulty swallowing River's warrior abilities. Don't think they pulled that off in a believable manner. And some of the scenarios in combination with dialog seemed corny to me. Avengers was top notch, but not my favorite XMen movie.

It's not like ST:TNG didn't have it's corny episodes either. :p

I loved TNG and Voyager, but they were both highly derivative of TOS.

Ah, but it is not as though the 'corny' episodes of TNG (and they did exist, I agree) were not outclassed by the number of seriously excellent episodes per season. While I quite liked Voyager, I loved TNG; at its best, (some of the two-parters), it was simply superb, and each and every season managed to produce a few really thought-provoking episodes; these more than made up for the few clunkers.

What has really disappointed me, is that hardly any of the movies (predictably, but unfortunately) came anywhere near the best of the episodes of TNG - a few outstanding stand alone episodes, and quite a few of the two-parters. Having access to a massive budget to blow on CGI and pyrotechnics does not replace or supplant or negate the need to have a proper, fulfilling, interesting, compelling story to tell.

One of the early Voyager episodes included a chicken or the egg paradox time travel scenario that had all ready been explored in TNG. I was like "Come On! Use your imagination to come up with something new!"

Enterprise seemed lacking in innovative/intriguing concepts and stories. Let's go down to the planet and help them with their crops... and when we get back we can lather the sexy Vulcan with antiseptic gel while in our undies.

I love TNG although I admit at times there were some corny aspects such as the time the crew turned into primitive forms and started murdering each other. After all was said and done, Troy quipped she needed to keep her schedule open for counseling. Then there was Picard who was turned into a Borg and seemed to bounce back without issues.

Since the final season of Breaking Bad is about to begin in a few weeks, I decided to start a marathon session of the whole series yesterday to refresh myself with everything leading up to this last season.

I watched all of season 1 last night, finishing up at 2am and now I've started season 2 this morning.

I'm really looking forward to the last season to see how everything ends up and what happens to Walter.

I watched The Bridge pilot a new show on FX about the murder of a judge whose severed-in-two body is dumped on the bridge separating El Paso from Juarez, Mexico. The perp or organization involved has some high tech abilities. Two police detectives one from the U.S, one from Mexico reluctantly end up working together. I can't say it grabbed me, but I'll watch another.

I've had several friends recommend Under the Dome, a story based on a Stephen King book. Any good?

But I've missed the beginning. My understanding is that this is a one season show? I'll have to see if it's available through on-demand from my local cable company or I'll just wait for it to appear on Netflixs. I don't really like watching shows on my computer if I can help it...

I'll wait for it to be done then, as my usual experience with most adaptations of his work is that they "work" for me up until about 80% of the story and then end like crap. :p

(With some exceptions. The Shining, Misery, Carrie (1976), ...)

The Shining, Carrie, and Firestarter. I admit though, that onscreen adaptions of his are hit and miss. :)

I'm watching but about half the cast can't act. Read that CBS decided to turn it into a series. I only stuck with it because it was a limited series.

I saw the pilot and that was it. It was okay, and I'll probably watch more of it when/if I remember to turn on the Xbox so I can watch it via Amazon Prime on the TV, since we can't get Amazon on the Apple TV.

I watched part of an episode and nothing really impressed me. I'll still catch the pilot when I can.
