Been watching the good doctor pretty religiously with the wife and the kids. Pretty good show so far. I don't watch much tv but this show is good. Diverse cast, morally driven stories, and good acting.
Must say that I would love to have seen "Gunpowder", - I'm abroad at the moment - and @Dave Meadows - "Victoria" does sound extremely interesting and very well made. Looking forward to seeing it at some stage.
Some of my friends love "Poldark", @JamesMike, - but I haven't gotten around to catching it yet - and wine and cheese goes well with almost everything.
But, last night, a powerful bout of nostalgia assailed me. I had a craving to watch "Robin: The Hooded Man" - which - I remember - was absolutely brilliant when I saw it in the mid 80s.
Well, I must order the DVDs, then......

That reminds me of my youth! It was a very strange theme tune I recall.
Currently watching Autumwatch on BBC2. Not been a great series in terms of wildlife.
However Blueplanet 2 will be on this weekend.
Fantastic music, - I loved it - and an amazing soundtrack by the Irish folk group "Clannad", who were commissioned to do the music.
The theme song was called - reasonably enough - "Robin: The Hooded Man."
Actually, I went out and bought the soundtrack as a LP.........and subsequently, as a CD, and it is now a part of my iTunes library and has a place on my iPod Touch.
Watching ep3 of Gunpowder as "we speak". Very good.
It’s on BBC iPlayer by the way which you should be able to access while abroad.
Now you mention them I recall it was Clannad.
Well as you don't have the program to watch, perhaps you should listen to the soundtrack.
Ah, sigh.
I look forward to seeing it - or getting the DVD - on my return. It got greta reviews, and I love good historical dramas - something British TV does exceptionally well.
Internet here is erratic and somewhat unreliable; okay for text (and even then, not always) but very erratic for video, all that buffering and stalling.
Now, that sounds like an idea.......and is very likely what I shall do.
It was a brilliant soundtrack; I was an undergrad when I bought it - a Christmas present to myself, and I recall playing it endlessly on Christmas Day that year.......

The Gifted- A new show on Fox about mutants in the X-Men world, a world where the X-Men have vanished, onerous mutant laws, and a mutant prosecuter who discovers his kids are dreaded mutants. It’s ok, but I’m not sold on it. It’s no where close to the intrigue and psychological complexity of Legion.
You should still check it out, who knows, although the writing is not as good as Legion, which is stellar.
It's on a list. But I'm way behind on many things. Too much working in the evenings.
