Couldn't sleep well. Ended up watching an episode of Gilligan's Island. I'd forgotten how much I loved this damn show.

Just finished season 2 of “The Killing”. Well-made, somewhat bleak and they did introduce some elements of personal history/issues of the lead that I didn’t find necessary but it’s a good crime show.

Everything and Nothing: the Anazing Science of Empty Space (2011)- The history of how human beings figured out the true magistry of the universe. Impressive documentary if you like this sort of thing. In the title, a significant portion of the documentary, is discussing the concept of space where nothing exists, described as the default state of nature, then it dives into quantum mechanics, and the nothingness becomes somethingness. ;)

Also mentioned was the discredited concept of luminiferous either, (that was believed to exist at the beginning of the 20th century) the non-existent substance that was credited for carrying light waves through a vacuum. It was also interesting that up to 1924, scientists believed the Milky Way was all there was. It’s incredible how much knowledge has been gained in a century.
