No French bread? I hope you have a plan b.
Well, I am using up what I have - that is, I am toasting it; granted, this is not the same as fresh French bread (which will now have to await a visit to the French bakery next week).
Not been outside since this morning when I chased a squirrel off the bird feeders.
Likewise; I, too, have been housebound today.

I've pretty much been at home today, too. It's been cold and wet, but not raining.

Finally got a laptop finished for a client; waiting for a SATA SSD, as an NVMe won't work. Their old SSD died, and it was only two years old. Thought they had lost everything, but Windows 11 had a backup. Still waiting on their battery since last Sunday; I'm going to quit using eBay because of their slow as cold molasses shipping. Don't want to give Amazon that much business, but their shipping speed is so superior, it's worth it.

Have a lot of fun watching squirrels trying to get into my bird feeder:

It’s quite simple: if an event involves 20-year-olds drinking, I will gladly not attend. Was invited to something tonight, and I am well aware that the two people who invited me have bad drinking habits. So it really can only go one way, which is badly. So I am not going. I feel bad because they’re my friends, but I am really uncomfortable knowing they’ve gotten drunk (whether intentionally or not) numerous times.

In my Teens and early twenties I did a lot of social drinking. Often to excess. But I was still able to get up for school or work the next day.

These days I rarely drink and never in the volume I used to. Anything more than three pints of beer and I feel like crap the next day. Doesn’t matter how early I get to bed or water I drink.

We have a variety of feeders. He’s not got into any yet, but we discourage him trying just in case.

Even worse today. Absolutely chucking it down. I went out to plug the car in as we have two hours free electricity this morning.

Flooding in the UK. Basically had a months rain this weekend. Fortunately we are not affected in our village, but not far away is. Feel sorry for those that have to deal with it year in, year out.

Pouring here, as well.

I hate winter.

Actually, I just want to go to sleep and not wake up until sometime in the middle of March.

I was just up at the hospital with my daughter while she got another blood transfusion and when we left, I was freezing getting into the car and I said "I want summer back."

The older I get the more I hate winter. And here I am living in the mountains...go figure.

Suits me. At least I don’t have to go to work this week. Or (most likely) anywhere else.
I'm in the office Wednesday & Thursday tis week. Don't mind being in the office but hate the commute. Only 40 mins but still. I leave the house before 7 to miss the traffic and leave the office at 15.30. So much easier working from home.

I hate being in the office. Just a complete waste of time. At least I get to charge my car for free.

My first name appeared in the definition of a word (on Apple's "Look Up" feature). Kind of unsettling...
I know how you feel.

I was working at Target and we were taking training on Workplace Harassment. The second version of the training had an Asian dude with my name. I felt so targeted.

Not sure why, but around the time I hit 40, draught beer, even a single one, will give me a headache in 10 minutes. Can drink several out of a bottle, but something about draught does not play well with my head.

So I don’t get on well with wheat (physically). So not sure if it’s something to do with that. But the truth is I don’t drink at home for a number of reasons. Mrs AFB can’t drink at all. So drinking alone is not good.
If I’m out it’s usually for work or I’m driving so neither of those are good times to drink.
Then of course the less you drink the more it effects you when you do.

Check to see if the draft beer has nitrogen added for pressure.

Some canned beer has nitrogen added and those give me a wicked headache, even if I only have one or two

Just turned in my final assignment of the term, so now I get to relax until Wednesday when I fly home! I've got absolutely no idea what I'm going to do the next two days. The weather's absolutely awful, but maybe if I bundle up I can walk the river trail.

Horrible here too. Flooding all around my area and strong winds. At least we had some sun today so was able to get some clothes partially dry on the line.
Managed a walk but the wind was cutting.
Enjoy your days off.

It can be like that here for weeks on end. Very depressing.

That is one of the reasons we moved to the southwest from the mid-Atlantic. Our winters were mostly rainy and gray vs snowy and cold. Sure we got snow there, but in a day it was more of a wet mess than snow.

Out here it is sunny most of the time. Sure you get a few cloudy gray days, but nothing like back east. It has taken some time to get used to 60 degrees at night being "cold" though.
