Each to his own, and I most respect high ethical standards. Not sketchy to me. I've already talked to the apple manager at the local Costco box, and he was cool with the refund idea. But will the 90 days run out before 2024s become available?
Only reason I kinda think it’s sketchy is overall Costco is a good company; I wouldn’t think twice if it were Amazon tho. It’s a silly thing to consider sketchy tho, I will say that. I’ve never returned anything to Costco before so it’s not like somebody abusing the return policy.

I’m mainly considering doing it as a test run to see if I can fully move to iPad from a MacBook. Could end up keeping it anyway and wait for any issues to be worked out on the first oled.

If I went today 90 days would put me at June 30th, I can’t imagine it gets delayed even past that? I ask hopeful lol

Buying something with the full intent of returning it is incredibly wasteful
If you're not returning it through mail and doing the full process in person, AND the iPad is in perfect condition upon return, then I can only imagine that the iPad itself will get sold as "refurbished" for cheaper later instead of just being recycled. That's not wasteful, imo.

Unless it gets recycled, of course :(

just a feeling new ipads wont come out till iOS 17.5 release in may
Until you see leaks like parts etc… it won’t be anytime soon. I am now thinking maybe the end of this year or beginning of next year. I hope you are right and I am wrong.

I can’t see Apple going another year without releasing any iPads. They’ll be here next month I bet.

9to5Mac came up with new rumour: Betas Solo4 to be launched on May 2nd, which is suspiciously "early May". Maybe iPads will launch at that time too?

I don’t think Beats product releases have any ties to Apple device announcements/releases.

While Apple owns Beats, they definitely treat it like a secondary company.

Don’t kid yourself … you’re going to buy the new pro the second it’s released. You wouldn’t be on this forum if you weren’t going to. 🤣
I wish it were that easy. But it have been burned too many times (not to mention I also have kids entering college soon)...so unless it really does revolutionize in some key way (like running MacOS!!!), I can't justify it...

I mean, I had an M1 iPad Pro--which I sold for more than I got it (weird circumstance). But it literally did all the same things as my iPad Pro 2018...they were essentially the same, so what was the point?

I keep going back and forth on whether i should upgrade from my 2018 12.9in Pro. But you've hit the nail on the head. The latest iPads do exactly the same as the 2018 iPads bar some extreme use cases. Is a new OLED screen and better battery worth £1,300? I don't think so.

Totally agree. In fact, I was doing everything fine on a Surface Pro 9, until I encountered some Mac only software I really needed to go back to.

So, instead of trying to do it all on my iPad Pro, I instead just used an M1 Macbook Pro 13" and just use the iPad as a note-taking, ebook reading, media playing device. A companion device--if you will. Well, that can definitely be the status quo until the "wheels fall off".

Now, if I could use that sweet, sweet hardware with MacOS? I could sketch and take notes on the same device that I do everything else? Now that device would be worth buying. But it ain't happenin'.

Well yes and no:
Yes because of the screen. The 2018 screen is just not a great, displaying blacks (or do i have to say greys ) is horrible. No because you can also buy a M1/M2 for a fantastic screen.

I bought an M1 iPP 12.9 on release and ran it side-by-side with my A12Z iPP 12.9 for a few days.

I kept the A12Z and the blooming on the M1 was awful.

Are the screens on the M1/M2 not the same as the 2018 model? Been out of iPad game for a while really not sure. the new iPad pro coming is supposed to my intro back to the line.
