My UK order ship date is still the 7th of feb.. my video ipod took 4 days to get here from china so im assuming the same for the mb pro.. looking like 11th ish if it leaves on time.

Ok, for the hell of it, I decided to call the 800 number a bunch of times in a row, and see what everybody said. I got a different person everytime and here were some of the responses:
One said: Mid Feb. - no specific date
Another: No later or Earlier than Feb. 15
Finally: Between Tomrorow & Wednesday.
I ordered 10 minutes after the store was opened the day of the Keynote, so I'm 99.9% sure I'll be in the first batch, so I'm hoping the last rep was right.
But has we have discussed on the Apple Support Forums that the reps really don't have a clue what's going on

I really feel that the fact they moved the UK orders back by 3 days is a good sign. If Apple was anticipating a longer delay, then they would have set the new date to at least the end of the month. No way a company says "it will ship in 3 more days" only to turn around a take much longer. If there was a bigger problem, they would have set the new date with plenty of time to get them out.
True it does give us some hope to hold on to. I really am looking forward to not using my GF's iBook anymore. I sold my Dell to get this MacBook Pro. Been slowly converting over to Mac for some time now. Finally when I took OSX off my Dell (just a little x86 test run), it took less than 10 minutes of Safe internet use for me to get a virus. I was POed. So I am now a completely Mac person now. Just ready to get my first one of my own.

Asked specifically if there was any information as to when the first batch of US Macbook Pros would be shipping
After several minutes of waiting for him to ask his supervisor and look in their databases, he came back and said they are working to ship around the 15th, with the latest shipped by date being the 20th....
So there might be a little delay, but looks like we are pretty close to on time. Just thought I'd relay this info to others, I sold my iMac G5, so I know I'm getting pretty anxious! Best of luck to all of you still waiting, hang in there!

Well well young Macbook lovers, what news do I bring???
Just went to the UK Apple Store Regents Street to buy Office - since I need it for work. I mentioned the MacBooks ...
'Any ideas when you're gonna get em in', I joked.
The bloke casually replied, 'Well don't tell anyone, but we've just got the demo models in today, they're downstairs.'
'Really! When you gonna be selling them then?'
'They're looking to get the shipment into our stores by the weekend'
'So you'll be able to buy them this weekend?', I asked pointedly
'You'll be able to buy them this weekend', he repeated flatly
'When you gonna have the demo models out and about then?'
'We should have em in the store by tomorrow afternoon'
'Wow, thanks mate', I replied cooly
The above conversation went something like that anyway. I'm fairly certain that they had the demo models in, from the way he said it. He also seemed fairly confident when I directly asked him if they'll be available to buy from this weekend at the store, although I wouldn't hold my breath - he could just have been flirting with me, I was wearing my best scarf.
Here's to some battery readings by mid next week!

Yeah, sold my Dell Inspiron 5160 on DSLR. It was in good condition and I sold it just really to get rid of it. Posted it the day that the Keynote happened. Wanted that MBP for the past several months. Was so tempted many times to just sell it and get a PB. But I stuck it out. Now I am happy because I am getting the top of the line MBP and going to have a ball with it. It is awesome.
I sold my Dell dirt cheap too. $750 for my 6 month old Inspiron 6000 with over $1200 invested in it. It's worth the loss for me to have the MacBook though.

I sure hope it does ship on time for you. However, I called Apple up two days before mine was supposed to ship on the 7th and they said everything was good and that it would be shipping on the 7th... then on the 7th it got pushed back until today.
