When exactly is the MacBook Pro shipping?

Yes it's real. I have posted on this forum and over at AppleNova about how my ship date moved from the 7th Feb to 10th Feb and now to the 10th March.

I have been repeatedly told by Apple that my laptop is in the very first batch to be built and shipped out. If this is true then that means all MacBooks will be delayed. If they are wrong and mine doesn't ship in the first batch then I'll be furious.

Was yours stock or BTO/CTO?

Just called an apple sales representative about this and they said that my order was still set to ship on Feb. 15th and they hadn't heard anything about a delay.
 
Hello me fellow anxious Macbook buyers,

I'm new to the site but I am in the same boat as the rest of you. I bought
the 1.67 version of the Macbook and I am barely patiently waiting for this
beast to arrive. this will be my first Mac so I am very excited on getting
my hands on it. I had two orders on the go; 1 that I placed on the 12th of
January and the other was placed on the 25th. Reason being that I needed
to add Microsoft Office (student/teacher edition) to my order and for me
to get the mail-in-rebate they both had to be on the same bill. Grrrr.....
Before I placed the order I asked if this would hold up the shipping date
because my classes start on March 20th, 2006; and I will be required to do
Word and Excel documents in my first semester. Anyways, my cheque
arrived this morning (Cashier's Cheque) and I called to see if I have a
shipping date yet but I was told that it takes 24hrs. for it to show on
the order status. I just called now and they told me that it will most likely
be shipped out with the second batch; so she said that it would probaly be
shipped in March:mad: If I knew that would happen I would have stayed
with the first order and pay the extra for Office. A little disappointed but
again nothing is final. She said the first batch should be shipped next week

If true , Congrads on those who ordered first, you should see them very
soon:) !! But who knows. Anything can happen. I will keep my fingers
crossed for you. But I do expect a post within 15 min after you get it to
give us the details:D

Just thought that I would let all of you know. I am more excited about getting engaged than the MBP. I was Joking. And no she will not read that last post. She is a technical know-not. That is one of the reasons that Mac is the best thing for her. But really, I am now extremely worried about the shipping of the MBP. I might have to rent a computer for my Photoshoot on 3/2. I really hate that. I was looking forward to using the MBP and showing it off. By the way, the Ring did cost more than the MBP by a bit. And I upgraded the heck out of the MBP.
 
Hey, I just had a thought and was wondering if any of you had thought of this. Maybe Apple is getting mad at Intel for not unlocking the 64-bit feature and making Apple take all the chips back and replace them with 64-bit enabled chips? That might cause the delay and it might not be that long of a delay if Intel cross ships with Apple and they start the mass production of them. That would be an awesome trade off. I think I can last a few more weeks for that trade.
 
To those who have had their order changed from the 7th to the 10th to the 10th of March, Don't you think Apple should be overnighting these laptops after you have waited a whole 2 months for it and had the date changed 2 times? I'd expect mine at my door the next morning! I know that I, who has paid $18 for expedited shipping WILL MOST DEFINATELY call Apple and tell them I want my $18 back if I don't get my laptop faster than those who ordered standard shipping, heck maybe if they don't deliver it in 2 days. It is getting to the point where we have all been waiting a little too long. Maybe Apple should take a note from Lexus and give us 1 gig nanos if there are any additional delays.

You do realize its almost impossible to ship a MBP overnight, UPS and FedEx don't even offer it unless you pay them like 100 dollars.

So what's the official word? So much bull being posted, I'll believe the March 10th crap when someone posts a screenshot of their order showing that. I talked to Apple and they still say Feb. 15th, I'm praying it stays that way.

When I called Apple I said "If there were to be any delays, how soon would I be notified" she said "If there are any delays you won't be notified until the day it's estimated to ship".

So we'll all find out come the 15th.

So Apple needs to pay $100 and have this done. They need to do this to keep customers happy. When our order for our yearbook staff with Dell was delayed for a month Dell overnighted the packages to us. All eight huge boxes. Granted we are in Louisiana and Dell's plant in Texas, but the boxes for the laptops are smaller and fewer. Apple needs to do this.

We are getting closer guys, just about 4 days! - Figures i have a test on the 15th, I won't be able to focus, I'll be checking my Treo every 10 minutes for shipment confirmations. and god forbid a delayed notice

I can only hope that it's because you have a 1.83 with a 7200 rpm HDD.......

Everyone pray the day before the 15th, lol, we'll need it!
