I was more excited then in a long time over the Mac Studio and the Studio display when I got them.
Especially, after waiting for what upgrades Apple had coming at that time.
My old iMac 2013 was going on its knees for quite a while before that.

The 2021 MacBook Pro and also the AirPods Max. But also iPhone 14 Pro and the Apple Watch Ultra.

Software-wise, I was super happy with Big Sur and the redesign.

Seriously! I bought one last year. Absolutely the best machine I've ever owned. I'm using it now. Silent. Beautiful. Cool. Way @#$% faster than a machine of this price/class should be. I have yet to find anything about it that I don't love. If I wasn't already married, I'd run off and elope with this beauty. 😆

If only I could get a bigger screen on the Air. That's why I bought the 16" MBP. But then again, that's what Apple wants anyway.

Really great experiences and stories. I thank everyone for contributing. It is a fun read without any drama.

I'm surprised the AW Ultra came into the thread, and with really great comments. I may have a look at those!

My answer would have to be the products that were unlike anything before it. Things that come to mind are iPod, Apple Watch and AirPods.

I was really excited to upgrade from an SE2 to the 13 Mini as well as from 2015 MacBook Pro to the M2 Air. I know those aren't "top of the line" Apple products, but I don't upgrade that often so it was a big deal to me.

I'm still amazed by the M2 Air every day when I use it. It's such a night and day difference from my 2015 Pro. I think Apple's decision to make their own Mac chips has turned out to be one of the best things they've ever done.

I had forgotten about the Airport Extreme Base Station someone mentioned. Rock solid network and Time Machine. Now that's a product they could update and have some success (IMO). 1TB and WiFi 6E, High speed Lan ports, yes!

I was pretty excited about the M2 Air. I was also buying it to replace an older MBP, but that doesn't mean there was no excitement there.

And before that, it was probably the Apple Watch Series 3 (the first one I considered to be good enough to buy).

The M-series of processors got me excited. Also the few minutes between showing the iphone 12 mini and announcing it's price, a little when they introduced the apple watch, and definitely back in 2010 when they first showed the ipad.

I appreciate the small gains that are made on a yearly basis and upgrade my equipment regularly, but the last time I was really excited about an apple product was the launch of the cellular Apple Watch 3. Having a literal phone on my wrist was amazing. And the AirPods to go with it. That was a pretty magical device to me.

When was the last time you were really excited about an Apple product and what was it? Seems more and more folks are buying to replace older items, not because they are truly excited about the new product. Sort of like a lot of "ho'hum, I need a new one" thinking rather than "oh hell yeah!"
When I upgraded from an iPhone 7 to 13 Pro 😁

2015 with the 12.9 inch iPP and pencil! 2021 iPP with XDR display (M1 if fine but not the centre piece of the M1 iPP), but I did not buy one. The rest is just better versions of already existing products (MBP, iMac and smaller iPads).

Let's see if we can get a 14+ inch iPad "Studio/Ultra" with an M3 next year to get exited about.

The iPad Mini 6.
Same. Felt like I'd been waiting for it for ages, the smaller tablet just fits better with everything I need it for, so I preordered one as soon as possible and was excited to get it.

Before that it was probably my first gen iPad Air, which was the last Apple device I got which I was still marvelling at just holding in my hand and using for months after buying. I'd had previous iPads but something about the screen quality and the size of the bezels on the iPad Air just really impressed me, they were beautiful things at the time.

I never bothered with any of the Air lineups, but that was probably the last time Apple still had some magic in it. Coincidently that was also in/before 2013.

well I was pretty excited about M2 air...I haven't been excited for a long time with iPad lineup and never really with an iPhone .

When I got my 128GB iPad Air 2013. It was the most expensive i-device back then. About $1000 US after taxes. I was on cloud 9, I thought it was the end-all, be-all of Apple’s engineering prowess and it was all mine!! (What a NERD - I was then). Still can remember the excitement and thrill. Those were the days..😂
